8-9-ish hours binge watching Benji Schwimmer; why am I crying so damn much!? I'm not gay or a dude.
💛Much love & gratitude. Thank you Benji. Thank you Dr. Dehlin

The HONESTY is so wonderful. What a breath of fresh air. This was even more enjoyable to watch than the original podcast where he came out. So wonderful to witness his progression that rings so true with my own experience. I love all the tearing down of walls and greater view of reality that results. So much love for you both and what just happened in this podcast. This reality is so much more beautiful than the fantasy world that I was steeped in my whole growing up. This is what the youth needs to hear to be healthy and happy.

Benji hit a home run when he talked about the “The Purge” within the Mormon Church and the cold heartedness of Dallin Oaks who is still stuck in the 14th century yet has a gay grandson. Great interview Benji!

"instead of hoping, I'm acting." This defines my post-Mormon life.

I just watched 5+ hours of Benji's first podcast with John, then found this follow-up and see that he is the same honorable man he was 7 years ago.

I just lost it emotionally when he said “Family, ISN’T it about TIME. Fuck yeh, it’s time.” My heart burst. I feel “the spirit” of my soul, of connection, of truth, of “God”, of families. Started around 1:28 or 1:30. “Strong language”can be a cathartic way to express feelings. All Mormon Stories episodes seem to help me heal in some way or another and they each have a few hit me spots. Thanks Benji/John.

I watched both and great subjects were discussed in both. However, I do sincerely hope Benji has reflected on his thought of "nothing" after death and how that might not be the best message to project to Mormon men/boys dealing with being homosexual. A spiritual life/point of view without the confines of a "religion" could be a great alternate.

Best Benji quote -''Family: Isn’t it about…time?... Fuck yeah it is. Your time with your family, with your friends, with your life, is now.''

Thank you for your words on the idea that some people need religion. I think this is true for all. I don't happen to be one of them, but if that makes someone happy then go for it.

Live your best life and don’t let anyone or any church take that from you! They don’t get that much power! Even though they think they do!

I’ve never heard the term “son” used for the younger partner of a male couple with a major age difference. Of course now you hear the term “Daddy” used even for a straight male who is like a real man who is like a silver fox (although he doesn’t have to be old & gray).

I attended evergreen years ago, it was a big pick up joint. They pretended to be something they were not. A good friend of mine ended up committing suicide as he could not reconcile his being gay and the church.

I had two long term relationships with two devoted members of the Mormon Church. The first hung himself, the second shot himself in the head.
