Totally agree with your analysis of both villains. Poison Ivy is absolutely gorgeous! She's by far my favorite figure of the wave. LOVE her colors! Mr. Freeze is beautifully sculpted, but such a shame he has no paint. He would look so sick in shiny chrome and translucent blue! I would've preferred a deluxe single version of Mr. Freeze and Bane as the BAF.
I'm the same about Mr Freeze and all the Bat Rogues, the animated series defined how I think about them and they are voices that I hear when I read a comic with them in it.
I should have the wave delivered in the next few days. I may try to use my chrome markers on Mr freeze to make him look better. They should have painted him chrome since the other figures don’t come with extra accessories other than the ice.
I was a kid when Batman and Robin came out, and honestly I loved it. It was basically like watching a live action cartoon, and the tiara is part of her hair lol
@@DCMultiCollector no I do think you’re right about the color variation. Honestly though I’m just happy after all these years to have an Uma Poison Ivy. Funfact: the hair was supposed to represent a that Ivy herself was like a flower blooming, like at this stage it’s she’s just budding, and the later look with the hair horns she’s blossoming, and towards the end when she fights batgirl she’s in full bloom.
It's really strange that the promotional images for these figures have that ice effect on Robin's leg. it seems even the marketing team had no idea. 😂 The other thing is that all the translucent plastic was there to enhance Mr. Freeze. I think even with a lack of paint, the translucent blue bits would have done wonders. Makes you wonder if they found it too complicated during production and decided just to make ice effects out of it.
I hope McFarlane will re-release a deluxe version of Freeze with the translucent blue and shinier armor. I know it sucks to have to buy him over, but I love the character so much I'd do it.
I don't get how McFarlane can put out an excellent figure like this Poison Ivy & completely flub Supergirl... 🤷♂️ I definitely share your disappointment in the lack of any type of detail in the BAF Arnold. As you said they really need to make all blue parts of it translucent. Giving it some blue piping around the edges would have definitely helped. I purchased the Poison Ivy as well as the Batgirl (I will use her for Stephanie Brown 'Batgirl' in my display) but I definitely have no need to get the rest of them at this point
Ivy is the highlight. The others are pretty good too. I think only Arnie disappoints. Yeah these movie figures definitely get most of the budget. And Ivy clearly got the most love here.

These are supposed to be available in Canada pretty soon too, and Poison Ivy's on my list for sure. Batgirl and Robin look great, and for what it is I think this Batman is alright. What I might do is see if the Jokerbot legs I have can work on Mr Freeze. That way, I can skip Batman and wait to get him with the Batman Forever Batmobile if/when we get one of those. You're completely right about this Mr Freeze being done dirty in terms of paint and colouring, and the argument that people can just add details is true... But not really acceptable. Is what it is tho, and especially given how much less we get from other companies for the price, it is what it is. Marvel Selects cost more now, most Hasbro stuff is garbage, and figures from Super7, Mafex, SH, etc aren't compatible price wise to these. Plus, McFarlane stuff has way better distribution and availability than basically everything including Mattel and Jazwares wrestling figures so the chances of needing to pay eBay prices is much less because of it.
Poison Ivy is awesome could’ve used some vine accessories or something but man the Mr Freeze is super disappointing with zero paint and the cheap looking plastic, I’ve come to expect this from lots of McFarlane figures but it sux when the sculpts are so good and let down so bad in the paint department.
I agree with the blue should have been translucent such a missed opportunity same applies to the expressions mate overall still one of the better BAF lines
I loved the 60s show and still hated this movie. The 60s show was a separate thing but this was at the time supposed to follow the previous three and it just got dumber and dumber.
@@DCMultiCollector The Batman & Robin Bane wasn't big enough to be a Mega figure unless McFarlane took some liberties to make him not screen accurate bigger.

Yeah it sort of is but I dunno the tiara sort of looks darker red in all the reference materials I saw. Hmmmm
