Not exactly. My grandad bought one with his own specifications on the 9th December 06 and it arrived on the 7th March 07 for the new reg. I don't always trust the claimed waiting list for cars.
Easily the BEST of Astons range, small, and because of this those rear sholders just scream power...... By far it's the best looking. Sure it's not a 911 or an R8 but you have Aston Martin on the bonnet!!!!
dont think anyone can comment on how this car sounds from listening to it on youtube. people are just jumping on the sound bandwagon because topgear and 5thgear say it sounds nice. on another note. this car is going for 65-70k which is amazing to me more than half of its MSRP gone
I like the V8 Vantage, but I LOVE the DB9. I can't stand the fact that people keep on talking about that it has more BHP than a Carrera S... cuz what do those extra BHP's matter if the Carrera S is still faster?
Top Gear is for people who dream about the car being tested. Fifth Gear is for people who want to actually buy the car being tested. I like both shows, but FG's reviews are just so much more accurate in describing the actual feel of the car. But what do you expect. TG has the Simon Cowell of cars-Jeremy Clarkson, and some other guy that used to blow up campers on science TV. FG has Tiff Needle, ...how many times has he run (and won) Le Mans?
It’s ok that the V8 Vantage has 10% less dynamic ability than the 911, instead it has 10% more luxury and compliance in handling. Although Aston were marketing this car at potential 911 customers they built a car with its own individual character which is becoming more rare nowadays with platform sharing and governmental regulations. (Yes I know the V8 Vantage is something a ‘parts bin special’ but it’s MORE than equal to the sum.) Thanks Aston.
yea i had my sights and dreams on an aston martin dbs however 250k + is not exactly affordable price range lol.... you can find alot of good deals on the v8 vantage and it is still sexy as fuck... aston martin is the best...more class than any other car... of course thats just my opinion ...
... i have no response.. lmao.. ford produces some of their V8s in cologne.. and im glad someone is willing to admit that AM's v8 was based on a ford V8...
True, but fuel economy is for Toyota's and Honda's. The C02 produced by all of the sports cars of the world are dwarfed by the amount produced by other vehicles; they account for less than 10% of automotive C02, and less than mainly because they aren't driven as often. So its stupid to complain about emissions, cause they don't matter.
Dear James, To react on this never ending story: A story about ignorance and short-term-thinking What comes out of the rear of each vehicle we don't see and therefor it doesn't realy exist! Arrogance! Its necessary to keep on talking about those things, like the HUNGER in the world. Small-scale improvements ARE improvements. The temptation is always tooo big for us humans to go in to that car again and drive it, inspite of the emissions.
Yeah I know, it's some racing guy who owns aston martin now, but why is volvo and why was it always fucked up:P They are robust, good looking and strong cars
You're absolutly right, but the people who use their cars purely for transportation from A to B have a goal, a destiny, but sportscars??? It's a pure anacronism! It is out of this day and age to want to go fast and furious with that knowledge in the back of your head that's not really necessary AND you're contributing to the polution! This line of sports could find their thrill elsewere!! But: I know, I know!! Its all about the money and power. AGAIN!!!
But there's a downsite, you only have to look around you. We all must reallize that sitting behind the stearingwheel is the ultimate act of arrogance and deccadence. We also must reallize we're acting like this for the last hundred years! The concequences are too drastic to continue like this!! It has been a lot of fun, money-wise and amusing, but the gates of this playground are closing gradually! We all know we CAN do better and leave less traces behind in the environment!
2020, and still one of the most beautifull cars on the planet.
Correct!
911 S is a little bit faster and civilised, but you're right about sound. Not to mention it looks apsolutely fabulous!
His name is Tigg Needell, he is nodoubt a better presentor and driver than Jeremy C.
This is the best car in the world!!!
Most beautiful car ever built. I'll never own one and guess what? I don't care. I'm just happy it exists.
@marksapollo It looks better than a 911 or an R8, in my opinion.
Not exactly. My grandad bought one with his own specifications on the 9th December 06 and it arrived on the 7th March 07 for the new reg. I don't always trust the claimed waiting list for cars.
Still waiting on mine to show up!! Been almost 4 years.
Easily the BEST of Astons range, small, and because of this those rear sholders just scream power...... By far it's the best looking. Sure it's not a 911 or an R8 but you have Aston Martin on the bonnet!!!!

The engine has been uprated to 4.7 litres now thus the increase in power.

Tnx for your EMPTY-HEAD-IGNORANCE-reaction!! Amazing, indeed!
Is that true that Aston Martin is owned by Ford now???
Well if getting a 3rd at the 24hrs of Le Mans doesn't qualify him as a pro then I don't know what does.
Does anyone know the name of that sound track from 0.55 min?
awesome carrr
stylishious vid!
.. ford owns Aston Maritn... its cool.. they have like a 50% share.. hence the V8 :-P
