Thanks for the videos Frank. It was great help for me, specially the valveboby part. My 03-72le is from an 2001 GrandVitara XL7. I also made a mistake 😂 when installing the center support new bushing I didn't align the hole in the bushing where it was with the center support. Reverse didn't work. Take it off two times until I found the mistake. Fixed the problem and it works great. Thanks again... From Arecibo, Puerto Rico
Frank, your down to earth approach and honesty, to the point of sharing your mistakes, are encouraging. Even though I own a copy of the service manual and am only servicing the valve body of my wife´s XL7 tranny, your insightful videos have been of so much help that if I have to face the bigger challenge of rebuilding the whole transmission I now know where to get all the answers. Thanks from way down south (Valencia, Venezuela) and keep up the good work.
Thanks for all the positive comments Hector. I am not sure about your reverse problem, could be different things. Hope you can figure it out. A '95 geo tracher 4-door is exactly the same as a '95 suzuki sidekick 4-door as far as I know. This transmission was used in several different models of cars in addition to trackers and sidekicks.
Realy enjoy youre videos im busy with a a44dl a43dl box also known as aw03-72le ive got reverse and only a slight forward i have rebuilt the box and put a new torque converter in but forward only works partially
Curious about where you got the new torque converter. Is it a rebuilt or actual new? Must have been expensive either way. So you have it back in the car and now you have to take it out again. I know how that feels. Did it three times. If reverse works fine and the torque converter works fine then the solenoid valves must be working and shift valve must be correct. You replaced all of the discs and O-rings, right? If so, it should grab pretty good when you put it in drive. Without any other information all I can think of is that you are not getting fluid pressure to the forward clutch piston. Probably a mistake somewhere, just have to take it apart again and start going through each part again until you find the mistake. That is what I would do. Good luck.
