Here is my two cents worth. When Frank Sinatra sang 'My Way' he made it sound like "Son, I'm an old man and I've climbed these hills and gone down these chasms, so I give you my wisdom on life". He made the song his own and it will always be remembered as a Sinatra's song. When Aretha Franklin sang it I'm sure some people were rolling their eyes because it was a bit upbeat- to me her version sounded like "I'm a black woman and this is what I had to do to in this world, and I've made it through and I'm going to keep on making it no matter what". Initially I hated her version but after a while I preferred it to Sinatra's. Just like this song. Anuar Zain sang it like a man who is heartbroken- internalising the pain, keeping a front but truthfully dying inside, like how a man would generally act. Jac sings it like she is singing it to a man, face to face like "I've given you everything! Everything! But still it wasn't enough, it f**king hurt!" kind of way. She sings it like it is a torch song. What I'm saying is Perpisahan' will always be Anuar Zain's but it doesn't mean Jac's version is any less good.
amat jarang dpt mendengar Jac nyanyi dgn penuh feeling...thumbs up! kadang2 jac suka senyum tanpa sebab..but this time..she coloured the song with full of emotions..
