Another masterpiece from you, GB looks surreal and it looks very similar to Spiti valley and some other parts of Ladakh also , not surprising Buddhism is the dominant religion still here and it all is the part of same ecosystem. Thanks for showing us . Also Shamanism was also popular here in India also but over the time got assimilated in Hinduism ,but in some areas a different form of it is still practiced by OJHAS. All the best for your future endeavors.

Well people have very little knowledge about Buddhism. The Buddha of kargah is carved during the times of Tibetan rule for a short period but saying this is a Mongol is nonsense. The village below called Naupur had people following Buddhism while no denying there were equally big number of Zoroastrianism followers. In 1921 farmers from this village discovered a wooden box containing scriptures which were given to local Dogra administrator who sent this box to Kashmir which Maharajah handed over to British administrator and was taken to Calcutta for investigation and found that this was 'Lotus Sutra' and is the only largest collection of Buddhist manuscripts. A large part of this lying in Delhi museum archives some at Lahore Museum and at British Museum. It must have been carried from Indian monasteries of Nalanda and brought here for the purpose of further onwards journey to China.

Brother every land that followed Buddhism made Lord Buddha resemble them. Yet who was Lord Buddha? He was a Kshatriya (Rajput) of the pure Aryan Sakya Clan and his Aryan Gotra was Gautum. The Gotra describes the precise origin from an Aryan Race Sage and since Kshatriyas (Rajputs) and Brahmans share the same Gotras hence this Gotra is found in Brahmans as well. There is a lot of disinformation circulating these days but Buddha was surely a pure Aryan and a Kshatriya (Rajput) and not a Brahman.
