Dude that Cavalera set was amazing and definitely my highlight. Halfway through the set I got a tap on the shoulder from a buddy I grew up with and hadnt seen or heard from in 18yrs. What makes it even more insane was we use to watch Sepultura vhs tapes in my basement as teenagers and they were band that got him into metal. He somehow spotted me in the crowd and we watched the 2nd half of the set together. Mind still blown.
Necrotic Nick- It was hands down my favorite moment there and I only wish I could have heard all of Arise too. That's fuckin' awesome you ran into an old buddy of yours like that. Hell, I feel like that's the best way to meet up honestly. lol.

Cool finding you guys there. Incredible festival. Favorite set was probably Impaled. They really had the best stage presence I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Hilarious bunch of guys with a ton of riffs. Some other favorites were Deicide (seeing Legion live felt kinda surreal), Deeds of Flesh (very emotional set without Erik), Pyrexia, Suffocation, Autopsy, mortician, and Carcass. So many classic bands all in four days, such a surreal experience

Spot on on the Yautja review - that was a god tier set. Did not know the band at all. Saw many great shows on MDF but somehow it made the most impression to me

Hacked Up For Barbecue, and Zombie Apocalypse contain the best riffs in the history of music. Will Rahmer despite having long hair just doesn't look like a guy who is not only fronts a Death Metal band, but also the most guttural Vocals ,and One of the Heaviest bands to ever exist. He looks like an old biker

Your feet hurt? That was me at Psycho Las Vegas 2021. The stages were hundreds of meters apart there. And there was four stages. Merch stand was a long walk as well. Same at Wacken Open Air. There was 8 stages. CDF had only one stage. Merch stand was close by. Great band merch btw. Thanks for posting about the bands as well. Stay heavy and brutal. 🤘

Here my fav set post of MDF, these were the sets that I say Really melted my brain in no particular order. MORTIFERUM, Skeletal Remains, UADA,HYPOCRISY,CANCER,CAVALERAS,DARK FORTRESS,MALFORMITY,BLOOD INCANTATION.There a lot of honorable mentions too many to say TRYPTIKON AMD DARK FORTESS were the sets that a felt that if you didn’t catched them there most likely you never will.
Necrotic Nick- There's definitely some I missed on here like Dark Fortress and Uada but, man, there so many killer performances. Demilich, Hypocrisy, Monstrosity, Cavalera, Yautja... man, just a killer fest from start to finish.

I had never heard of that band until I saw them at MDF 2019 and they blew me away.

Dude baltimore is a clusterfuck. Ive lived in MD my whole life. Seen countless shows at The Soundstage and Rams Head. I fuck it up everytime too. The Harbor is awesome.
Demilich's Nespithe is underrated as hell, definitely deserves a classic review. The real crime is that's their only album. With more material they could've gone down as one of the greatest tech death bands ever

Necrotic Nick- It was a blast. I'd seen Obituary earlier this year with Gruesome and 200 Stab Wounds and it sounds like they were playing the exact same set so I wasn't too broken up about it. We met up with Chris from Metal-O-Mania, Future Ruins and Maze of Torment while we were there and it was awesome to get a chance to catch up with them person to person. I heard Wyattxhim was there but I didn't see him. The suicide almost happened right in front of us actually. We were on our way in to the Soundstage to see No/Mas when it happened and we heard about it when we were in line. It was pretty insane and really never left us. It was always in the back of our minds the entire fest.
Necrotic Nick- Agreed. I loved the fact he kept the death metal vocals going in between songs too. You guys sounded great by the way. I would have watched but the allure of all that merch was too great. lol
What I heard on TH-cam Glen Benton hasn't sound as good as he sounded in awhile. His highs are still not what they used to be, but god damn Glens lows sounded as you said feral. Ya it was cool hearing Pat O Brian made a return to the stage. When I was getting into death metal I had the Pungent Stench shirt for Been Caught Buttering. Bad fucking ass Disencarnate shirt. I met James Murphy when he was playing with Testament and he mentioned something about a follow up to Dreams of the Carrion Kind...unfortunately we are still waiting.

Necrotic Nick- There's definitely some I missed on here like Dark Fortress and Uada but, man, there so many killer performances. Demilich, Hypocrisy, Monstrosity, Cavalera, Yautja... man, just a killer fest from start to finish.

Necrotic Nick- I strongly recommend Yautja. It's like grind, hardcore, sludge and noise all wrapped up into a nasty 3 piece. There's some good perspective ones but we can't name any names... yet.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Deathfest. This year's lineup was too good. Like you mentioned, you had to miss bands you wanted to see in order to eat or take a rest from all the standing. I saw you guys there during Blood Incantation's set. I planned on saying hey when they finished so we could actually hear each other but I lost track of you. Consider this a late virtual saying hey at MDF.

Necrotic Nick- Thanks for watching, man. This was pretty much one of the most stacked line ups I'd ever seen. Hey, we appreciate the late virtual "hey" just the same. We were really taken aback by all the love we got shown there. I just saw that The Chasm snuck that one in. I'll probably wait to cover it when they do some CDs for it because I want a copy. I had never heard of that band until I saw them at MDF 2019 and they blew me away.
I had a amazing time! The only downfall for me is missing Cerebral Rot. Chose the wrong dinner the night before 💩. Great video 🤘

Dude baltimore is a clusterfuck. Ive lived in MD my whole life. Seen countless shows at The Soundstage and Rams Head. I fuck it up everytime too. The Harbor is awesome.
Demilich's Nespithe is underrated as hell, definitely deserves a classic review. The real crime is that's their only album. With more material they could've gone down as one of the greatest tech death bands ever
Necrotic Nick- We plan on doing a retro review for that one eventually. I love that album. I heard that they might be recording a new album from some people but I haven't seen anything concrete concerning that. We'll see.

Necrotic Nick- It was a blast. I'd seen Obituary earlier this year with Gruesome and 200 Stab Wounds and it sounds like they were playing the exact same set so I wasn't too broken up about it. We met up with Chris from Metal-O-Mania, Future Ruins and Maze of Torment while we were there and it was awesome to get a chance to catch up with them person to person. I heard Wyattxhim was there but I didn't see him. The suicide almost happened right in front of us actually. We were on our way in to the Soundstage to see No/Mas when it happened and we heard about it when we were in line. It was pretty insane and really never left us. It was always in the back of our minds the entire fest.
Monstrosity is definitely among the most skilled musicians in the Metal scene
