Great video, but I am having trouble finding evidence that Behaviorists tested the audiolingual method under any conditions . I see a lot of articles and books that say "based on", but for some reason, maybe due to my own ignorance, I cannot find any actual evidence of this. Any guidance would be great.

Hi! I’m wondering why “comprehensible input” and “the natural method” (Krashen, Terrell) were left out?
Hello Denise, thank you for your question. Comprehensible input is not a teaching method in itself, but rather part of Krashen's set of hypotheses, which is why it wasn't included as a method. We did contemplate including the Natural Method (amongst other things) but ended up refraining due to space constraints and the inevitable SLA-based explanation it would require. Further, much debate exists around Krashen's theories and the Natural Method, and we couldn't really do justice to these in such a short video. We instead decided to dedicate a whole chapter of our course Language Teaching Methodology to SLA theories, including how Krashen's work can be placed in a "no interface" paradigm and the pedagogical implications of this. Hi Anni, where did you see the term "Communicative Language Learning"? We tend to refer to Communicative Language Teaching, or CLT, when talking about teaching methods. I needed a little refresher, the rest il figure it out as always but as a language teacher and someone who learned three languages myself i have to say the grammar approach is the worst of them all. I believe that a language can only be polished to a conversational level in school only if the student has some foundations in that language beforehand and our goal as teachers should be to encourage them to learn and give them some tips how on they spare time to truly master it. I remember myself learning it that way mostly by watching movies with subs, rewinding, then watching without subs. Simply by listening to a language a lot you get a good vocabulary. Now a teacher has something to work with and make a conversation instead of repeat after me which will boil down to remember for the test, forget afterwards.
