I have watched too many LGD “training” videos where all they do is talk about their dog. This Q & A format was absolutely fantastic and actually answered a lot of my questions, thank you so much…!!!

Thank you so much for your videos. I'm learning so much. We have a 9 year old Boer goat, a year old ewe and bottle feeding a 7 week old lamb. Our Anatolian/Akbash pup is 5 months old now. We've had him for a month. He's a good boy with a few habits but he is catching on what he's not suppose to do. Your videos are helping tremendously! I just love my pup!

Can you train an older Pyrenees puppy (9-12mths) to be an lgd. If so would one follow the same steps?

If I have my puppy penned up alone at the barn, away from the herd who has gone out to pasture to graze, how long should she be without sight or proximity to them?

you mentioned it wasn't a good idea to get 2 puppies at the same time what about a 5 month old male and a 9 week old female??? Learning About LGD's love to hear your opinion thanks

They will still both be similar age puppies at risk of the same issues. We generally recommend 2-3 year age difference.

Some of the puppies are Central Asian Shepherd Dogs, which are traditionally docked.

So I have Hurd a lot of opinions about this should you get your LGD spayed or neutered? Obviously no puppies on one side of the argument but there are people telling me that if they are fixed they won’t do their job. I don’t really believe this but was wondering your professional opinion.

They actually are better at their job when neutered or spayed, and less likely to wander in search of a partner.

At what age do you recommend having then spayed/neutered?

When I tell my puppy to "leave it," as she wants to run after one of my goats, even if it is as play, she often doesn't stop. When I catch her by the collar to stop her, she will often want to try to bite to let her go. How do I handle this?

People obviously think that a Dog comes with a program like a computer. Yes they have an Instinkt but still every dog has a different personality like humans do. And like humans they need some education and guidance. It’s just common sense.
