Reggaeton has been a super popular genre in the Latino community since the '90s and rightfully so. With an infectious Dembow riddim and catchy, dance-centric melodies it's hard not to like.
In this video, I show you guys how to make a Reggaeton beat from scratch in Studio One 4.
Some of the things we cover include creating the legendary Dembow drum cadence FROM SCRATCH as well as creating the iconic staccato melody using the popular Scaler VST from Plugin Boutique. Enjoy!

Yeah unfortunately producers started simplifying the drum loops.They barely put snare triplets with the dembo.I still make my patterns like luny tunes and noreaga and tiny.I also keep bachata on my sounds.I have been making reggeaton since like the late 90’s.I grew up with a lot of the rappers from the old school who run it still.I remember learning from Niko Canada and dj nelson in 94.Back in 🇵🇷

thanks for the video man! great stuff. Question, when using scaler, I don't see just a generic option for minor scales. they are broken up in two (harmonic and melodic). Any idea on how to choose minor scaler altogether?
Under the "Major" category there should be an option for the natural minor. Its weirdly place but thats where it is. Hope that helps!

@@ImIvanCalderon , Reggaeton used to be good, Don Omar, Tego, Aventura etc. The new reggaeton isn't the same if that makes any sense. The Salvadorians in my neighborhood thump the new artist with that simple primitive heart attack drum beat it sounds so cheap.
