I mostly want some closure in regards to the primarchs plot lines. Specifically Rogal Dorn and, if he's still alive, Alpharius. I like the idea of Alpharius working with Valdor to try and get a soul into a body not for the Emperors warp soul but for Omegon. I know this isn't likely but just finding out if he's alive or not would be a big step forward in my opinion. Another great stream as always Sandman. Thanks for the great content and conversation
Arik reverse engineering Astartes and Thunder warriors is my favorite left untouched plot thread. I think Arik was a son of the emperor or proto primarch. He recreates the emperors most sophisticated work in a crack lab like the movie dark man. The abilities of Ghota and Haar showcase the thunder warriors.

In Sons of Selenar, Sharrowkyn goes in to statis with the Magna Mater...Next we see the Guilliman gives the MM to Belisarius, with no mention of Sharrowkyn. What happens to Sharrowkyn? I'd like to see him tracking down Sabik Wayland so they can team up again and be the dynamic duo once more :D....Or have i missed something?

you are possibly the only 40k youtuber who does a genuine analyisis of the books. lots of them suck and just read from someone elses anaysis that is entirely wrong. also, spot on about the retcon part. at the end of the day gw focuses on tabletop first and have retconned since forever.

The Horus Heresy story isn't even over. It ends after the Great Scouring which is why there needs to be a series on it where all the lose ends are wrapped up and we see the Primarchs vanish, leaving the Imperium in relative peace until the Beast War.
Wasn't the "magic string", the same string given to Theseus by Ariadne. To kill the Minotaur. As Ollanius Persson alludes to being one of the Argonauts of Greek myth.

Finally got some time to sit and watch this video. Glad to see others talking about the fact that Leetu mentions how Sanguinius's soul is essentially gone.

I like to think that this was GWs way of once and for all clarifying that Sanguinius will not be coming back.
I do however believe that GW intends to bring back all the Primarchs at somepoint, with the exception of Sanguinius, and possible Horus.
And there is no way GW will leave out the Blood Angels when it comes to having a Primarch.
With the level of power and influence Dante and Mephiston have in 40k, and their deep connections to both the Golden and Black Angel, I can see them moving into some form of Primarch role/level in the future.
A popular theory? Probaly not, and I don't expect it would go down as well as them just bringing back Sanguinius. Yet if GW wants to stick to its guns with this (and that quote really makes me feel they want to), I can see this being a very real possibility.

Sangs sacrificed did little to nothing, and he didn’t fall to a mentally crippling state , Horus soul didn’t get erased ferus’s soul is clearly sticking around it feels like they have bent over backwards at the end of the siege to bring literally all space dads back.
I think there is this fundamental misconception on 40k fans that the 30k era actually was heroic, glorious. In reality, it's just as grim and nihilistic as the setting 10k years later.
Sanguinius's sacrifice, everyone's favorite old Olanius Pius lore: all of this is imperial propaganda, not an endorsement of the glory of the imperium

Doesn't mean they will do it. Sanguinius' death accomplishing nothing? This is the grim darkness of the 40k universe. We already knew Ferrus was still around leading a proto Legion of the Damned. And as for Horus' soul, well, we don't know if it is still around.
I don't think GW will bring all of the Primarchs back. What would bringing Dorn, Ferrus, Alpharius, Sanguinius, Horus or Curze back? If anything, this would diminish the impact of their deaths, and unless 40k ends, Geedubs won't do something so drastic. :/
I get it. Some diehard fans think that changing the lore equals "it suck now", but the old lore just couldn't cut it with all the other novels we got over the years. Plus, the end of the Heresy was pretty similar to the previous Canon. B/
Technically it did achieve something. Iirc there was a prophecy stating that the day the Angel dies is the day the Lupercal dies.

I like the idea of the King in Yellow actually being Basilio Fo. Fo is nothing if not adaptive. I could certainly see him leveraging Chaos, blanks, astartes geneseed, etc in his effort to defeat/control the Emperor and eliminate the threat of Chaos to humanity.
Framing Valdor is just a wonderful bonus.
Peter Turbo really needs some love, lore-wise. Really hope we see him and Vashtor kick it together.

Didn’t the tech priest shown when that happens say basically he’d die fairly quickly and simply (and mechanicum can cordon off parts of their brain to operate independently or keep themselves entertained by their own musings infinitely, but the physical form is what deteriorates) b it the Astartes are supposed to have near perfect metabolism and they can slow it down to enter a catatonic state and live for thousands of years. Iirc the priest actually says he’ll pretty much be stuck down there alone forever with no way out but thats kinda implausible.
Grey Knights geneseed comes from Janos, the "primarch"-like result of Remuel Arvida merging with the fragment of Magnus "that would never betray the Emperor". He becomes the first Grand Master, and the other chosen have their progenoid glands changed by that new one.

As per the siege books, Corswain had a Vanguard force of approximately 10,000, who had been previously reinforced by Caliban but had been operating apart from the main bulk of the First (who were at this point destroying traitor home worlds). 😅
Corswain states he doesn't know the status of the rest of the Legion and he's written to show he really misses his ol' dad. 😢

That's the one problem with 40k to me. The timeline is so vast that you have very little crossover between storylines. I'm on book 8 of the Gaunt series. I didn't exactly know when it happened except they mention Ravenor and his books. So Gaunt is after Ravenor is dead I assume, but Ravanor was 200 years before the Tyranids 1st showed up I believe. He didn't know what they were when he used magic door. I used to want a Cain/Guant crossover till I realized they weren't alive at the same time.
@@chadwhitfield6946 but the end of the bequin novels is thought to bring about the star child and the return/resolution of valedor's storyline. And ravenor is in that, so either Rowboat didn't know about Valedor's return, or the Inquisitor's series is on going in the 'current' Imperium, which also means gaunt is alive, which means chronostrife is a cruel mistress
@XCRunningMan95 lol. What it means is the 40k continuity is a mess. Also, just because we might get confirmation on who the King in Yellow is doesn't mean the 40k universe as a whole finds out who he is or that the Inquisition doesn't cover it up.
It is inferred that the terminus degree couldn't be targeted to just traitors, but could exclude Custodes. That's what makes it the more interesting ethical dilemmas. But, guess it could be adapted to target the genes specific to each traitor primarch.
What will happen to Volkhar Wreth? He was the loyal Word Bearer entombed in the Imperial Palace with a demon host against his will in the book The Purge (2014). Ten years later and no resolution….
Hey, imagine that in ie 32.1 k some famous old statue maker is down in the deeps of the old palace to fetch a, rumoured halfforgotten, old statue but instead takes a wrong turn and finds a sleeper agent alpha marine. He arrives late to get it and while the servitors seems to struggle with carrying this statue laying under some old boxes, he dont think more of it. Being blind he has learned to trust his helpers , however none were present that day.
He works alone all year to clean this statue up in his unlit studio and he asked around about the reasons why the old relic actually seemed to have a metal armor on, he never thought more of it after hearing too many handwaving excuses.
He clothes the sleeping alpha marine in a new surface and heats it to a crisp nice new statue. This statue is after many thousand years of beaurcratical musical chais, placed on some really cool place. Wild ideas: on macragge, on titan in gray knights garden, in the today palace on earth, mars, or wherever!
Then one day, after enough monkeys hit their typewrites, someone speaks one of the correct codewords and the alpha marine slowly wakes up, so many thousand years later.
It would be super cool if you found a lore addict who has an actual degree and working-background in psychology, and have a collaborative discussion on the various mental/behavioral disorders of each of the primarchs. Live from the Black Library already did his own “personal opinion” kind of video on this topic (which was great), but it’d be interesting to hear it discussed with an actual expert in mental illness.

Who is the most likely primarch to be redeemed 1st? I think Magnus or maybe Angron asks to be killed. Like Angron knows the butchers nails will never allow him to change and he fights thru and has a moment and ask one of his loyal primarch brothers or the Emperor to end him.

it is impossible to kill Erebus. He has so much plot armour. impossible for GW to make a character more hated. Erebus for Emperor.

Not a dumb question I’ve seen theory discussions about it, but I don’t believe at this point there’s been any official word as to the next major 40k series.
Part of the allure of 40k lore for me has always been the mysteries hinted at in the deep past of humanity, where mythology and history blend. Speculation, wonder, legend. I feel completely overexposed to it now and it isn't nearly as interesting to me as all the theorycrafting was. Now the word "Primarch" makes me groan and roll my eyes.
How about the word "Perpetual"? 😂

I feel that the emperor is being pointed toward the power of order, imagine a pendulum, the arm is swung on the chaos side slowly making the turn back. The redemption will be going to order, make a redemption for the other races as a way to their “elder” forms. I would like a small “good” section because I’m sure not all will agree with getting help from aliens. A coalition so to speak against chaos.
I'd like to watch this but I can't. Black Library didn't print enough copies of The End and the Death pt2!!
Therefore, I have to wait until they might finally release the paperback

Not saying that audio isn't ok and that's for people that like that medium but I prefer my own inner voice for stories; it's better for concentration, I might learn new words and I see the text it in its original form - the written (typed/printed) word.

what happens to ashul? He was one of the AL operatives in praetorian of dorn, myzmadra dies in the siege but we don’t hear about ashul again.

27:26 this always bothered me, because without a geneseed you can not be a space marine. without it you are an enhanced human, maybe similar to custodian
So when Ferrus and Alpharius are killed there's a burst of light and energy - but nothing like that is described in Sanguinius' death. Could that be a retcon?
If they introduce a slann it would be kinda cool if they introduced like 40k version of lord kroak or mazdamundi. Wouldn't be too far fetched considering all the similarities especially with the pantheon.
Had the thought what if in effort to combine new lore with the old what if Perturabo makes a deal with Vashtorr that could of been part of the deal I could also see it not being the correct amount because he didn't get all the fist geneseed and then harvesting from his own legion

What if one of the Primarchs landed on a planet controlled by the last of Slaan? And Slaan used him to practically make their own space marines? That may be a story behind the 2nd or 11th. Because Slaan means revealing the truth of the origin of Humanity - and suggesting that Humanity is Xenos's experiment would be a big hit to all the ideology of "destiny and exceptionalism of human race" that Imperium was founded on.
I think the owners of gw are moving the plot along quickly to chase in as much as possible before technology advances to a point where minatures are obsolete to video games, VR or maybe even somthing more capable.

If they do touch on the old ones I hope they're not Slann (Slann can be another child race) and they're actually more Lovecraftian and less recognisable. I don't like just taking toads, lizzards, dinosaurs, rats, and giving them hands, making them larger and more intelligent. To me its very lazy and boring writing, I want them to he truly alien.

If you've got some understanding (as in you know what the inquisition is roughly, what the Horus Heresy is roughly), then id say Eisenhorn.
Eisenhorn trilogy or Gaunt's Ghosts series, those are among the most popular and appreciated books and they don't require deep or particular background lore to read.

Im curious about the whole emperor offering Magnus the grey knights legion. Did that interaction actually happen? I the next siege book when magnus and Vulkan are fighting each other again in the web way, doesn't vulkan tell magnus that the whole interaction was fabricated by magnus to be able to justify his actions?

@@warsmitholgir5440 apologies, I don't have that answer but truly believe the emperor gave magnus the chance because of what Leman done to him. The emperor never wanted magnus dead, just brought back to terra. The grey knights had just been formed in buried dagger and Magnus was the original occupier of the golden throne

I cast my vote for Erebus as the new an improved Dark King because f*ck it! If GW is going to keep giving us reasons to detest him and giving him better plot armor than Abaddon I would rather see him as the final antagonist of the setting rather than that second-rater from the rebranded Luna Wolves.

Feels like GW's writers are going GRRM to twist their own lore into silly directions i.e. everything is cynical, and genuine attempts at heroic action is proven pointless by goofy plot convenience
