Farm toys in 1:64th scale are dominated by Ertl with SpecCast taking a small chunk of the premium market. But times are changing with Greenlight upping the detail with bargain pricing. Ford tractors, which are totally underrepresented in the market these days are dominate with other generic tractors are their forte. But the coolest piece they came out with is the Bale Throw Wagon based on the 16 foot E-Z Trail Bale Throw Wagon.
This is Down on the Farm Series 4 by Greenlight Collectibles, a set of six 1:64th scale farm vehicles. Five of them are diecast farm tractors, and one of them is an implement. They added two new tooling parts to these guys. I also went on and took them out of the package, cause you guys asked to see vehicles out of the package. And since I'm keeping a set of these tractors for my layout, I decided to go on and open this one up for you.
And this here is the, A release, the 1973 diecast tractor with enclosed cab. Which is based on the Cockshutt G1355. It is in the red and white Cockshutt paint scheme, but it doesn't have the Cockshutt company graphics.
Next, we have the B release, which is a 1974 diecast tractor with an open station.
Now, this one is painted in Minneapolis-Moline yellow and white, but it does not say Minneapolis-Moline G1355 on it.
Next up we have the C release, which is the first with new tooling parts that's come out. It's a 1982 Ford 5610 tractor with a front end loader and front wheel assist.
You can see it's got that steel wheel that Ford Farming used, which is the light duty wheel with bar rear tires and bar front tires for the front wheel assist.
The top of the cab and fenders are painted in Ford Tractor white to match the wheels and the correct graphics for Ford on the hood.
Now we're going to move on to the D release. The 1982 tractor with front end loader.
Now it is based on the International 3088 tractor. However, based on its size, it's more like a 5088 in 1:64th scale.
The tractor body is diecast metal. It has cab glass. You can see the striping and the 3088 there that would have been on the International that makes this tractor very much like an International tractor, even though they didn't say International or put the IH logo on it.
And now we come over here to the E release, which is a 1987 Ford 5610 for the Kansas Department of Transportation, their DOT, and it is painted in red this time for the Kansas DOT.
And that brings us up to the F release, which is a bale throw wagon. And this is a red bale throw wagon that is in a weathered, muddy, dirty, dusty paint scheme. And for those who don't really know, this is actually based on the E-Z Trail bale throw wagon, the 16 foot one.
And there we go, folks that is Down on the Farm Series 4 by Greenlight, another great set of farm tractors that belong on any diorama or on any collectors shelves.
Weren’t those cool? I know Ertl is the go to standard that everyone runs to, but I’ve been waiting for someone to take them on and Greenlight is doing it. They are making far more detailed replicas at a lower price point. I’d put these in my collection instead of the non-existent Ertl equivalents.
Go on and grab the info on the E-Z Trail bale throw wagons or buy the greenlight farm toys at the links in the description below.
And please hit the subscribe button and that thumbs up button as it means so much to me!

Great question Paulo, They are a mix of plastic and metal. The bodies are metal with lots of parts being plastic. This was to keep the costs down
