Thanks again for the kind words since last week 🙏 but please no more apologies, we move forward and welcome to all who joined as we grow past 80k. YOU ALL SET IT ON FIRE! In this video with a bit of playfulness it try to put into words what kind of travel drives me and that's not modern Western looking places. I want to experience that which is unfamiliar and I really don't know any better then to walk/ride into places when it interests me even if sometimes these are places that some of you wouldn't recommend or don't like to see. Over the years I've had some of the best experiences in those kind of places and the good people and kindness that come your way there most of the time doesn't really surprise me anymore. The same thing in India so far, a lot more good than bad and if you've watched a few videos you've probably noticed by now that it's mainly the people we've met that make the video. The world is only getting smaller so I'd like to keep exploring the to me unfamiliar and at time wild side while it's still possible.

I felt what you mean. Many Indians consider these small streets in major cities with modern brand shops and buildings as development. But they don’t realise what they leave behind in the real India back in their villages, the cows, dogs, cats , humans living together, the temple meals, the local chai stalls, the spice markets, green fields, the dhabas, the plastic less life, the “addas” where people gather just to talk, etc etc That is the real India. The precious one.
Your point about the "less modern" aspects of India being fascinating and the people being exceptionally kind is absolutely accurate. You're welcome to explore and appreciate those aspects to the fullest. However, the reason why many Indians often emphasize showcasing the modern side of India is because in the West, there's a prevailing stereotype that India is solely defined by its slums, often perpetuated by movies like "Slumdog Millionaire." This can be quite frustrating for Indians because when they visit Western countries and mention their Indian origin, they often encounter assumptions that they must be from the slums, which doesn't represent the diverse reality of India.

❤nice to hear that what the mordern we consider as development is not really development. Development should be in the mind and openness, respect for nature
Bangalore has changed from the good old 60's. MG Road was about 30 meters wide, as we use to sit on the concrete benches opposite the shops and can look right down the road. Around 6.30 pm, the weather was nice a cool and a thin mist covered the road. Lakeview was the only ice cream restaurant where we use to go and have our favourite flavors. Ofcourse, Brigade Road was my favourite haunt, as I use to walk up and down looking at things on either side. Later, the Only Place opened at the bottom of Brigades, close to Rex Theatre. And Koshy's was my coffee time there. The 70's witnessed the first sky scrapper, called Topcapi as Bangalore was known as the garden city then. Most every home, in the Cantonment Areas, had a nice garden with all sorts of plants in them. I remember, I use to cycle from Cooke Town, all the way to my college in Ardugudi, Christ College. From there, One could drive up to Banergatta, to see some wild life and to Anekal further up. I would definitely say, Bangalore was good then. It's to crowded for me now. Those memories will remain❤
Even 15 years back when I visited, a lot of the old Bangalore vibe still persisted and seeing it, I moved there 5 years back. Last year, however, I felt like most of the charm of Bangalore faded away so I shifted away from Bangalore. So many places and venues I used to go to got shut and even the music scene which I loved in Bangalore shifted completely to Mumbai and elsewhere. And not to mention the sudden increase in rent and lifestyle expenses from the startup boom. Still yearn for that old Bangalore.

Brilliant. I know this was meant in light-hearted humor - but the dark side is there is ‘global colonization’ everywhere, not just India of course - modern urban shopping areas around the world have an upscale (and pleasant) blandness that anyone that travels will tire of. I understand many urban dwellers love the consistency of familiar brands and ‘modern’ lifestyle - but it makes for a boring world. Thanks for the social commentary with a humorous touch.
Hey Pedro, goto to magnificent place, Sringeri sharadamba temple, which is in place called Sringeri. You need to take bus from Bangalore (6-7 hours Journey), if you start journey at night bus, you will reach morning. You can visit whole day, so many spots to see in that place, same-day or next day you can return back to Bangalore.
You are so right about some Indians obsession with westernization How they don't want the authentic India to be shown and only want to highlight the parts that are fully westernized labelling it as ' modern '
but as an indian don't you think that our roads should be cleaned properly atleast and all noise pollution should not be there like see in his every video there is always so much noise pollution so it just doesn't look good bro nobody is talking about westernization but we should learn how to keep our india clean and pollution and noise free

What a way to reply. Loved it. India has many many sides to it like most places in the world. You should definitely explore rural India too for the authentic experience of culture and history. Also interesting is that its different and changes every 50-100 kms. Happy exploring my beautiful Karnataka, my beautiful India.
By the looks of it you are like me, I avoid concrete jungles as well while travelling, visit Mangalore once you will love it, not very far away from Bangalore. They have very beautiful beaches & lots of places to visit there!! Love you Pedro, I hope more travellers are just as open-minded as you are!!

Where do you reside now sir
@@sathvikraomp2006 I'm in Australia at the moment. 😊
@@J.M.254 cool . Do visit whenever you can. Ofc that old Bangalore is lost . But certain old areas do retain a sort of a charm still
@@vamshidharreddy393 Really but I see Hyderabadis being happy with the development. I see them putting photos of HiTech City Gachibowli and various other new infra and celebrating the development of hyderabad

@MadlyRover totally agree with you, I absolutely love the small old school places, busy rewatching the south American trip and showed your channel to my mum she absolutely loves it. The desolation of the mountains and some of the places is just something else. Love the channel both of them.
India is very expensive in most things. I realized it after travelling and living abroad
Bad things happen everywhere in the world, bad elements are everehere in the world. Feel good to see you back again.

@@MadlyRover this is not real india.real india exists in rural areas of india.because they still preserved their culture language and tradition.these city people are blindly following western culture thats it.

Hello pedro can i get one heart from you, love your videos.....
MG road is one of the best area in Bangalore.
India has every type of places either middle class modern or other...just need to explore. 😊
Unfortunately! Most of the people watching and commenting don't understand the sarcasm ! Good stuff brother ! Love your vedios ❤
😂😂🤣 right
If possible Visit Iscon temple, Mysore, Hampi, Belur and Halebeedu. If you like historical places. Incredible areas....
If having nice things is westernization, then yes I like western culture
@@mjordan233then shift to west lmao , why being somewhere u hate so much
but as an indian don't you think that our roads should be cleaned properly atleast and all noise pollution should not be there like see in his every video there is always so much noise pollution so it just doesn't look good bro nobody is talking about westernization but we should learn how to keep our india clean and pollution and noise free
Why didn't he visit Nalanda in Bihar for 'Authentic India'. This is just BS from him.

I see that many have already told you enough not to worry about the modern india that some wanted you to show.
There are enough indians in india who embrace the real india. In a way, it is good that you have shown the modern India so that those who wanted to see that no longer think u r biased.
Have you explored jaynagar, Malleswaram, vv puram Street food? You should also try Karnataka's authentic food... Bisi bele bath, kosambri, curd rice, lemon rice , North Karnataka style jolada rotti, if you like only non veg then military hotel (not owned by Indian military.. It's called like that)... Welcome to the 'Ultra Modern India'.. btw, MG road, brigade road, church street and the neighbourhood you been in this video is the first settlements of the colonial era, so it has been the 'go to place' if you want to be known as the 'modern indian' so the vibes, yes the people are like that too. btw, the autorickshaw guys were the coolest at the end, 200 for a ride from there is a bargain, people will shell out even bigger than that as it gets towards the midnight and beyond. Phew!
