Subhanallah, With everything going on in Syria and all over the world to the Muslims, after hearing what this commentary on Sura Ali-Imran, I can understand what the Muslim world is going through. It gives me hope for them, their struggles are written, and it is seen over and over that they hold on to their faith despite the struggles they see. Subhanalllah, the Muslim world will be ok in the end.

Did you notice at the end he talks about being proud? Does anybody know what happened to iblis when he was proud and didn't bow? The word he's looking for is "GREATFUL"
no on one hand we have to be humble and grateful but with that we can be proud in the sense that there is not shame on us for believing in Islam or being muslims--- because there are many who are not proud of the religion they represent.... just in the sense of being ashamed just bc they are muslims, they hide their identity and don't want to disclose who they are associated with--- that's how i understood =)

Thank you for this series. I'm reading an English interpretation of the Quran for the first time, but it's hard to understand because the translation loses a lot of the imagery and meaning that is in the original Arabic. Listening to these explanations is very helpful and very moving.
Do you have The Gracious Quran by Ahmed Zaki Hammad? There is an electronic pen with it to help with different Qaris. And there are indexes, lots of helpful footnotes etc.
Your English is perfect... I feel jealous I'm native Arabic speaker and facing difficulty to explain Quraan to people

Glorifying Allah 100 times when one goes to bed
When you go to bed, glorify Him and praise Him and magnify Him One hundred times: that will be one hundred on the tongue and a thousand in the scales.
Who among you does 2,500 bad deeds in one day?’ They said: ‘How could we not count (our sins)?’ He said: ‘The Shaytaan comes to any one of you whilst he is praying and says, Remember this, remember that, until he finishes his prayer and does not do (this dhikr), or he comes to him when he is lying down and makes him sleepy, until he falls asleep (without doing this dhikr).’” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 3332).

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن بَعْدِ الْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَى طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِاللّهِ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ ظَنَّ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ الأَمْرِ مِن شَيْءٍ قُلْ إِنَّ الأَمْرَ كُلَّهُ لِلَّهِ يُخْفُونَ فِي أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لاَ يُبْدُونَ لَكَ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَاهُنَا قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ الَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَتْلُ إِلَى مَضَاجِعِهِمْ وَلِيَبْتَلِيَ اللّهُ مَا فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحَّصَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
154. "Then, after that grief, He sent down security upon you (in the form of) slumber coming upon a group of you, while another group have cared only for their own selves, thinking about Allah unjustly, the thought of ignorance. They say: ' Is there anything for us in the authority? 'Say: 'Verily the authority belongs to Allah entirely '. They hide within themselves what they show not to you, saying: ' Had we had a part in the authority, we would not have been slain here '. Say: ' Even if you were in your own homes, those for whom slaughter was ordained would cel1ainly have gone forth to their deathbeds; and that Allah might try what was in your breasts and that He might purge what was in your hearts; and Allah is aware of what is in the breasts."

Radeetu billahi rabban, Wa bil-Islaami deenan, Wa bi-Muhammadin rasoolan
Jannah becomes obligatory for him (to enter). (Abu-Dawud)
- Best said in Morning and Evening with “Nabiyan wa rasoolan”

Hadhrat Jaa’bir [Ra] narrated that Rasulallah(Peace be upon him) said: “For the person who recites SUB-HAN’ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BI-HAM’DIHI, [Pure and perfect is Allah in his glory and praise], - A date palm will be planted for him in Paradise” (Tirmidhi)
