I end up watching your videos multiple times because they always help me sleep too. Don't mean it as a bad thing, just that your style and voice are so chill it helps put my mind at ease.😌
Commenting mostly for algorithm purposes but thanks for all these long form videos. Always so insightful and informative. Thankyou for the entertainment you are the best
in my restless dream, i see that town. silent moon. man i didn't realize how nostalgic ps2 graphics would make me but i really enjoyed the opening cutscenes with claudia floating through space...big toonami vibes i guess. also i totally thought that guy was propositioning the player when he was all "come to my room...we have so much to catch up on.....;)" 😂 anyway yay thanks for a great year of vids, here's to many more!
Man I just want TOM to show up at the end with The Absolution and all the ghosts you helped are there. How could you do this to me, giving me this want that can never be satisfied?
I don't think you'll fully understand just how much your " It's nice to know even in death, a cats gunna cat" line helped me out. Thank you, for chillin in the dungeon I found myself trapped in❤
Thanks for putting a spotlight on FromSoftware’s earlier catalogue bro. I would love for FromSoft to revive some of these early IPs of theirs like they did with Armored Core just to see what would happen. They’ve improved so much over the years and seeing them revisit these concepts and game mechanics with their new stamp of quality would definitely be interesting.
Man I always look forward to your videos. The combination of your straight to the point and satisfying narration to the cozy and sometimes unsettling nature of the classic games you manage to find. It actually got me to go back and play some of my older favorites. Cold Fear specifically. Anyways I just want to say thank you. It’s been a rough semester and I just finished up my finals. You have a larger impact than you probably think.
I've never heard about the first two Echo Nights until you made vids about them, so I'm glad to continue this tradition with Echo Night: Beyond. Looking forward to seeing what it's all about!
I appreciate your content because you dive into games that I rarely see covered. If I see one more Alan Wake, Max Payne, LA Noir, or Witcher 3 video I'm going to scream, so please forever stay within this realm, you're doing great. Probably one of my top ten favorite youtubers at the moment.
@@Sophnar0747 Yeah to be fair I kinda feel like if you watch one longform reviewer like Dungeon Chill you've probably already found all the other ones as well =D There's also Majulaar who's worthy of following just in case.
My brother, I'm so friggan happy you did this one. I have only played the demo and it struck a chord with me that was just so good. Hell of a holiday gift!
I see Echo Night has taken the Tim Curry approach to its sequel - SPACE! Also that Android voice acting... just... chef's kiss. Thanks for another awesome video to round out the year :) Here's to more awesome stuff in 2025!
@@davidhost5900 ... I was joking, because I "knew" it would never be made. That was the joke (not my joke, the joke of it being mentioned at the end of the movie). And yet... it got made. Wtf.

Wait... if the character was an android the whole time... why do they have a heart rate monitor at all? What is it measuring? Why can androids have heart attacks?
I do think these days, with the passing of time, people sometimes conflate various sci-fi concepts or terms, using them interchangeably, such as robot, android, or cyborg. Where if you go back far enough, to your science-fiction classics, they are not different names for the same thing. An android, in a 'traditional' sense, is a humanoid artificial being that may utilise machine elements but also incorporate biological ones. There's no 'correct' ratio, per se, but it's not unreasonable to assume that an android might be made to believe in its own human existence, and therefore have designed human failings. Maybe they might still possess a semblance of 'mortality' in their construction, or design. Either analogous or literal 'human' internal organs, or a respiratory system, a beating heart, machine-assisted or otherwise.
7:00 "Who only repeats the same canned phrases." So just like almost every other NPC in every game haha. I'm going to nope out at the spoiler section. Would like to watch this but it is one I have been meaning to experience myself.
I played this (in PAL) back in the day, and I vaguely remember finding out that the PC is an android, but somehow still having no idea about anything else that had been going on at all. Thanks for laying it out! I do remember enjoying it despite drawing an almost complete blank on the story, though.
This game was super interesting to play when I was younger! I first saw the vids of the previous games of the series and was amazed to learn it was a whole series! Thank you so much for your videos, bruv!!
I hope FromSoft gets the ability to branch back out and try these types of games again, I love Elden Ring, Souls, and Armored Core, but man I want to see them cook with a legit horror game.
I know you usually cover older horror games. But you do such a great job and cover their storyline extensively well. I've been wanting someone to cover "The Scourge", a new vietnamese horror game released this year but haven't had any luck. Would love if you could possibly cover this game in the future!
I'd love to see you go over American McGees Alice series as a whole. Since they're such an odd small snapshot in something that could've been. It has one of my favorite Alice in Wonderland Quotes of all time, "When is a Croquet Mallet like a Billy Club? Whenever you want it to be."
Another excellent video! 59:10 agreed there, the game really could’ve used some wacky aspects like some android obsessed ghost or an alien ghost or something
I don't comment. I'm commenting here to tell you Dungeon Chill that you are top notch. Niche and lesser-known games being presented by a calm, intelligent, and funny voice is peak content. If there is somehow ever an end to the games you could possibly review, I will make more just for you. Continue the good work.
I remember playing the demo for this when I was a kid. It scared the crap out of me, haha. I play it as an adult now and wonder why I was so scared. I streamed the first chunk of this game (up until B1) for spooky season.
I love your video essays so much! Have you ever thought about covering "I have no mouth and I must scream"? I feel like it would fit perfectly in your topics! :)
Item hunting aside, I wonder how good this could have been if they'd integrated some of the design from the earlier games into this one; things like a more interconnected facility and ghosts that haunt despite the fog. At times, it almost feels like maybe an earlier iteration of the game could have been more a traditional entry in the series. Imagine smaller, regional stories-like those of the Russian crew or the ghost siblings-that center around one or two vengeful spirits. Maybe they aren't directly connected to each other, but they do tell the story of the facility as a whole over time. Even the key cards might have been used to open shortcuts rather than simply unlock new areas, though I'm not sure that's all that much more engaging, honestly. Excellent job, as always. Seeing you on my feed is always exciting, you're one of my favorite game creators on here.

4:15 this scene is on a space station on the moon. how did the moon get to almost the south pole of earth and not orbit the equator? that's terrifying. it's also way too close to earth.
What a coincidence. I saw this game at a retro market recently but man it was expensive. These old From Software games sure have increased in price. I chose King's field 4 instead 😂
I’m sorry but if I played this whole game, all the time struggling with a heartbeat monitor that tracks my stress and can kill me, then found out I was a goddamn robot the whole time? I’d be FURIOUS
