Thanks for the tutorial! White LED bulbs are not hot so I think I will try those. Also, fabric interfacing from the fabric store is sturdy, inexpensive and sheer enough for the light to shine through. Cant wait to try this!
Melissa Edwards I bought 1.5 yards of interfacing on sale for less than $2.00. The box is sturdier than if made with paper, important because I store my box by laying it flat.
Ty so much i wanna take instragram photos and dont feel the need to waste to much money on the lighting kit until i try something else i always buy expensive stuff and never use it and to waste more than $30 just for instragram phot i dont feel the need again ty so much you save me money the only thing i didnt like about this was the yellow light but everthing turn out great besides the white paper do you know if i use other type of craft paper would work like heart paper or design paper
Can I ask, what is (I guess) "Bristle Board?" Seems kinda important, and I understand it's features and functionality, but I have no clue where you obtain this product.
+Grumich its like a big piece of colored paper that many kids in school use for projects and such. you can get it at any craft store or anywhere that sells school supplies i suppose.
Giobel Koi Center if u really want a high end phone for photography id probably go with an huawei mete 10 an Samsung s9 plus and iPhone 10 Personally for the kind of price u would be paying for these phone u would probably be better of buying a dslr
I had a camera sx500 is to take photos. If the lights you're using are too bright you can always double layer the tissue paper. I personally now prefer using the light box outside, looks more natural!
+ShiaNaturesFearie a white light would look much better, since it won't mess with the colours of the products you're photographing. if you don't want to invest in lamps, you can always take pictures outside with your box, or next to a big bright window, which is what i prefer to do now! natural light is the best light!
Melissa Truong Thanks! I have always taken photographs outside but the weather in my country has changed and lately it stays dark because of the clouds and I even have to turn on the lights when I'm sitting inside. So I will buy some cold light bulbs and make a light box. :) Light bulbs are not expensive where I live. :D (if you know the right shops)
+Emir Muhammad Syafiq the bristol board is what gives the background a clean look, otherwise your background of your photos would just be the cardboard box.
for the whole day me and my mum have been complaining about boxes for photoshoot and non of the boxes works and she keep saying just cover the faps and it was like"sorry the instrution is to cut the faps and it has to be shallow" here doesnt sell cardboxes and their all rectangle
You really helped me ! I'll be uploading handbags into my online store

I have officially made a light box! When the sun is out tomorrow, I will begin taking photos. Can't wait to try it out.
How was it?
It turned out great. Works exactly the way I wanted it to---as seen in the video!
Thank you for the detailed tutorial! I've been looking for an inexpensive light box for my hand made soaps.
Nice work, Melissa! Simple, easy, inexpensive, and you explained things very nicely. Ima try this. Will post how it works. TY so much : )
She really did ! Thank God for her
Your tutorial is the best. Some others don't show very well the process. Thank you so much!
I made this box. It works great! My products look professional
Your using the wrong type of lighting the bulbs are to warm you need LED lights oyherwise very helpful video
Thanks for the vid, I found it helpful!! Curious about this interfacing fabric, sounds a bit sturdier than paper??
Could I get good results if I placed my camera on top of the box
pointing straight down? For taking pictures of baseball cards or
postcards etc.
Everything great apart from the background music

"It fits my box perfectly" I lol'd
What brand and wattage light bulbs do you use? Do you use LED or incandescent bulbs?
Thank you. Very easy to understand and inexpensive.
One of the least time consuming light boxes ,inexpensive and it works
Thanks so much! This is perfect! :)
I did something very similar. But can’t get rid of the yellow cast when taking the picture.
I made Light Box similar to this before few days. 😇

Grumich aka poster board
White lights is very best, no yellow light ok...congratulations
just adjust your white balance.
Great video!
Very nice here Melissa.
The lamp on the right is too close. It causes an obvious shadow to be cast to the left of the object. But nice work!
I was about to ask her why it still shows a shadow on the left side at 7:22. You gave me the answer! Thanks!
Thank you! I'm going to make this. Do you know how to fix that yellow look when you turned on the lights?
+Nin_The_Destroyer : Use daylight 5000 K bulbs not yellow soft light bulbs.........very simple....
+How 2 TV Ah, thank you! It may seem simple but it's not to me, haha. I'm new to this entire light box taking photos thing.
Is it okay to used mobile phone to capture the images? what mobile phone you can recommend for better results?
Giobel Koi Center depends on what phone :) I use my iPhone 6 and pictures look amazing!
thank you

Thank you so much! It's useful for me😄
what type of camera? I bought 65 watt lights, for epithet side and I am photographing glossy jewelery. light seems too bright

Try using cold light. And setup in camera that it accepts that light and no more yellow...
thank you so much. Very smart and useful. Lovely
Excelente muchas gracias.
It's easier to cut the box before you tape the bottom.
What kind of tissue paper is that?
what can i use instead of Tissue Papers ? cause i don't know what it is exactly or where i could find it
Go on Amazon!
I used regular tracing paper. I taped the tracing paper sheets together until it was big enough to cover the cut out window.
Why don't you put the fabric (tissue) on the inside?
hot spotlights on tissue paper may not end well but good little project all the same :)
Would I need white or warm yellow light for this?

nice cute little video, thanks!
Very well done. Thanks.
Ci proverò 👍🏼
mantap bang...good job...
Can i use butter paper instead of tissue paper?
Shraddha Prasanth as long as it's white and thin enough that light can still shine through, i don't see why not!
Oh. Thanks! I'll definitely give it a try. Melissa Truong
Penis
can we make it without the bristol board?
+Emir Muhammad Syafiq the bristol board is what gives the background a clean look, otherwise your background of your photos would just be the cardboard box.
Can you use computer paper? Please reply
Lindsay Limes you could, but you won’t get as much light in through the sides. I used tissue paper because it was thin!
Who else saw the bottle of Smirnoff in the left hand corner near the end of the video🍷🍷🍷🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
the ol' bottle of leg opener
👍Helpful, thanks. 😁
what board is that?
What camera r u using?
Hector Johnson the Canon SX500 IS
Could you use wax paper
Very helpful. thanks
you're welcome!

So the stock background song was driving me bonkers, but other than that, great video. Follow.
good , keep it up !!
Thank you.
what paper is butter ??
+Miguel Guerra usually butter paper is similar to parchment paper or the white thin paper you usually use for baking.
Good

Sweetie you had major shadows! It's a NO from me 👎
