I strapped on my first set of quads in 1974… worked as a floor guard for 8 years and when I wasn’t working there I was playing there… everyone is still like family… been living the quad life ever since, time permitting… About 9 years ago I discovered the adult retro nights and started skating on a regular basis… broke my femur 5 years ago (not skating) and after three surgeries including a hip replacement I am jammin out again to the 70s and 80s old school Funk and R&B… Your videos are awesome!! Dying to know how you are filming this… Makes me want to skate every day and makes me want to catch a plane and come skate with you! SO many good hearts in skating! Including my first boss of my first job ever at the Rollerdrome in Madison Wisconsin… he steered me into and helped me earn enough to buy my first pair of skates which were Ridell 220 boots and Sure Grip Century plates… I’m still skating them today after 48 years the leather is finally failing… I’m going to hang them on the wall and buy new… At 62, I hope I have a few good years of skating left!! So for all the old farts out there like me… GO FOR IT… I’m all smiles baby!! Keep On Skatin ❤❤

Have never skated before but at this moment, I've got a brand new pair of VNLA Freestyle Sunlite Fugitives waiting on any weather over 65 degrees to go out and begin to enjoy skating. @@michaelguzman7363 Just going to say... If you are just starting and you're 62, PLEASE get safety gear... Especially outside! Helmet, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads... You will thank me later... As a very experienced skater, whenever I skated outside I still wore safety gear.
I have watched this video at least 30 times !!! And will watch it more :). Everyone is having fun and having a blast . Great camera work and music. Lady in Pink is a real talent and is having so much fun, do not ever stop ! Please do not ever stop posting videos like this with the great quality and style, and showing people having so much fun. I remember skating from my teen years back in the 70's. It didn't look anything like this. The energy, everyone dancing, rhythm, happy faces and lines of ppl in synch with each other. Not sure what qualifies as "shuffle", but I love the energy and the feel of this. I remember skating on a Saturday or Sunday session, music blasting, going a million miles an hour (in my head), but it did not have this energy. This makes me want to skate again at almost 60 years old; although, I think falling would hurt far worse and for a longer period of time this time around. Had no clue this existed. Love it. Love the music. Love seeing some of the same skaters in each video. The world needs more activities like this. Maybe we should get a few politicians on a pair of skates? Lol.
Same here, but in the 60s. I loved it but it wasn't like this - more about going fast, skating backwards and doing spins. Wish I could do it again but oh my back.

Just found your channel, it put a big smile on my face! The last time I had a my skates on was almost 45 years ago. I think in was in my mid 20’s. Everyone looks like they are having a great time. Sure wish we had a rink near my area, would love to skate again! Keep the videos coming, sure brings back some wonderful memories of all the fun I had in my younger years. Get some! After over 40 years, I got a pair, found a rink near me that does an “old school” adults only on Mondays, and that’s my Cardio for the day. It comes back, and is just as much fun as you remember.😊

I couldn't agree more David ! Just found this today and boy does it bring back some great memories of Fri. & Sat. nights at the local skating rink from about 35 years ago for me. Skating to all the great high energy music hits like Michael Jackson, ABBA, La Chic, Rod Stewart, BEE GEE's and everyone else ! Man, what great times for about $20. Enough for a burger, fries and a coke and a rental pair of skates. The rotating disco ball, the black lights, the flashing strobe lights, the couples skate, the d.j. taking song requests, hanging out with your friends, just all of it! I watch this video and I'm there reliving those great times !
This is so inspirational!! I am finally comfortable and fluid with my crossovers and have been practicing shuffle skating. I'm not the best at it but it is the most freeing feeling ever!

I remember the excitement when my mom would let me go roller skating, renting skates, getting them on my feet was a bit of a hassle, and the music was GREAT. I recall the rush of getting out on the floor without getting run over by the speeders who stuck to the walls, then I was with them, speeding, shuffling, turning around, bouncing, and they were copying me and I was suddenly part of a whole herd of speed-shuffling skaters. It felt like flying. Blisters never mattered. What a time! THANK YOU FOR THIS!

Basically born on skates, my parents and aunts and uncles would all go skating. While growing up with my cousins on skates. My dad met my mom at the roller rink. Now I'm the OG. Can't skate anymore. Can't risk falling. Rock on everyone. 🤘
WOW! This really brings back the memories. I loved the adrenaline rush especially going to a new rink. I started skating seriously in my early 20's, went to the rink 2-3 times/week. Often skated at two different rinks in one night as there was a late night skate an hour away. We had a sync team of 6 that had a routine and basically we cleared the rink when we skated. I never got into speed skating but the speed that we went around the rink definitely left everyone else behind. I also loved to do the national dance skating. Never competed! Probably broke my coccyx more times that I could count. I, mostly, skated backwards as going forwards was too boring, We did shuffle skating too. This vid rocks. I had to give up skating when I developed arthritis in my 30's. My skating days were my most healthiest days of my life.

I attend many a kid birthday parties at the nicest rink in town. When I go, I’m 68, I put on my inline skates and tear it up. Im a bit surprised at how few in-line skates are out there. They are super fast skates with the right bearings. As a kid in the 60’s my neighbor owned a rink about 1/2 mi away. Every Saturday I would be there all day long.
At the risk of repeating myself and others, once again the person behind the camera has to be the best skater! Were any of the people holding phones and such devices recording for this channel? Any chance we will ever get to see THE ROLLER KING or did we and we don't realize it? The dancing on this one was not so creative but the speed and fluidity of motion were amazing! Oddly relaxing. I feel absolutely robbed that I didnt know about this entire skate culture until this last year. Yall having so much freaking fun out there! I just got back on skates for the first time in like 15+ years and Im absolutely in love. Im in awe of how many people come out, the only rink I ever went to was when I was a kid there was never more than like 10 people. I feel like i would crash into so many people 😅 Great video! How did I hit the skating jackpot?!💜 I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but this is taking me back 40+ years! We were skating like this in 80’s & at 52 now (feeling younger than 25), I’m itching to skate so badly! To see everyone flying around the floor & doing the moves too brings me such joy! This kind of skating has slowed way down in Michigan, but these are my soul-skater peeps! Where is this rink? I wanna go! For those of us left, my old crew doesn't skate anymore except for the reunion skates. I miss it terribly! I have skated since I was 18 months old… my ONE perk of having teenage parents. I stopped skating 4 times a week, sometimes more, when I found out I was pregnant with my first child, but after my 4 were old enough, we skated weekly for a time. They took to it like ducks to water. That's probably because I met their dad, a national speedskating champion, at skating. He can skate really fast in a circle, but he couldn’t skate full speed AND do all the routines too even though he tried once we started dating. He’s always been a little miffed over that fact too. LOL! I had to put my skates away for a 10 year battle for my life, but it's time to go again! Thanks for the killer inspiration! Looking forward to more videos!😽💋 P.S. Even though I’m happy to have my life experiences pre-internet/technology so my point of reference was not through a cellphone/video recording device, I sometimes do wish we had this technology back in the day so I could show my kids & now the world through TH-cam just how huge our regular skating group was & how fast/in synch we were in rinks so packed that we would literally have to jump over skaters who would fall so we didn't end up falling too. Those were the days! And, just like having children, it's over way too fast! Thanks, again for an AWESOME video!💜💜💜
Absolutely love skating! My mama worked as an assistant manager in Hot Wheels Arena in Greeneville Tenn back in the 70s and we went every weekend. I'm still challenged by shuffle skating not sure why? I get the moves but start slowing down, need to find a video lesson. I need to find a skating rink I can go to even if I have to drive a bit. LOL...I did this 44 years ago to "rock & roll"...every Saturday nite....had a blast! Graduated rink skating to bladding with poles with carbide tips practicing for Tele skiing.
I need to build my confidence skating. I'm always so freaked out about people rolling in front of me or kids coming out of nowhere. I haven't mastered the swoop around people method😂 I just tense up like "Oh no here we go!"
My daughter is only 10 she loves watching the videos. She asked me to find all the videos that has the girl with the pink jam skates on, my daughter says she wants to learn how to skate like that so she can have that much fun too.

Beautiful rink, awesome group of skaters, AMAZING video, & put to one of the greatest skating songs too? How did I hit the skating jackpot?!💜 I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but this is taking me back 40+ years! We were skating like this in 80’s & at 52 now (feeling younger than 25), I’m itching to skate so badly! To see everyone flying around the floor & doing the moves too brings me such joy! This kind of skating has slowed way down in Michigan, but these are my soul-skater peeps! Where is this rink? I wanna go! For those of us left, my old crew doesn't skate anymore except for the reunion skates. I miss it terribly! I have skated since I was 18 months old… my ONE perk of having teenage parents. I stopped skating 4 times a week, sometimes more, when I found out I was pregnant with my first child, but after my 4 were old enough, we skated weekly for a time. They took to it like ducks to water. That's probably because I met their dad, a national speedskating champion, at skating. He can skate really fast in a circle, but he couldn’t skate full speed AND do all the routines too even though he tried once we started dating. He’s always been a little miffed over that fact too. LOL! I had to put my skates away for a 10 year battle for my life, but it's time to go again! Thanks for the killer inspiration! Looking forward to more videos!😽💋 P.S. Even though I’m happy to have my life experiences pre-internet/technology so my point of reference was not through a cellphone/video recording device, I sometimes do wish we had this technology back in the day so I could show my kids & now the world through TH-cam just how huge our regular skating group was & how fast/in synch we were in rinks so packed that we would literally have to jump over skaters who would fall so we didn't end up falling too. Those were the days! And, just like having children, it's over way too fast! Thanks, again for an AWESOME video!💜💜💜

Absolutely love skating! My mama worked as an assistant manager in Hot Wheels Arena in Greeneville Tenn back in the 70s and we went every weekend. I'm still challenged by shuffle skating not sure why? I get the moves but start slowing down, need to find a video lesson. I need to find a skating rink I can go to even if I have to drive a bit. Absolutely love it and I'm 57 🥰💯🛼🛼❤️ thanks for great videos 🥰👍

LOL...I did this 44 years ago to "rock & roll"...every Saturday nite....had a blast! Graduated rink skating to bladding with poles with carbide tips practicing for Tele skiing.

I need to build my confidence skating. I'm always so freaked out about people rolling in front of me or kids coming out of nowhere. I haven't mastered the swoop around people method😂 I just tense up like "Oh no here we go!"

Look for an old school adults only night. No kids, usually few newbie’s. It makes it a lot more enjoyable. That’s the only time I go.
