We've had them for ages in Germany. They are the house brand of one of Germany's largest music shops. They are cheap but usually adequate instruments. QC is what you can expect for the price...
This is a pretty realistic take. Harley Benton's inexpensive guitars perform just about as well as one can reasonably expect from a guitar in that price point. For those that have real, meaningful amounts of experience with guitars across a variety of price points, they will be good if not terribly amazing guitars. For some, that is exactly enough. For others, it might not be. It really just depends on what you actually want and what your standards are. For me personally? I have played a number of HB's and they gave me that same vibe I got from a lot of really fancy looking but otherwise pretty average guitars that smaller guitar stores kept in stock back in the late 90's and early 2000's. They grab the attention of newer guitarists or those with less experience with the guitar ecosystem in general but for those who really know what they want and exactly what guitar will get them there, HB's might not be the first choice.
@@nasticanasta Honestly? I can use it to describe a few guitars I have owned over the years. The current example would be my early model PRS Santana SE. It is fine for the most part. It has the sounds one would expect from a guitar of its configuration/construction and generally fills the "humbucker sound" when I need it. That being said, I also own a American Strat alongside it and when compared directly to it, the PRS really only comes off as adequate. For example. When I pick up my Strat after being in the case for a week or two, it is still likely to be at least pretty close to being in tune due to the good tuners and related hardware. I never have to worry about it. The thing is solid as a rock. With the PRS, I have to tune it over and over during a play session because the hardware just isn't at the same level of quality. I can certainly swap it out (and plan to at some point) but I gotta judge the guitar by what it is out of the box. There is a perhaps harsher element to this as well. I have owned a lot of guitars over a pretty wide range of prices. When you have real, practical, meaningful experience with a everything from entry level stuff to more expensive (say $1500 to $2000) stuff, it is hard not to start recognizing the overarching differences that define each price point on average. This doesn't mean that I always buy the most expensive guitar but it does mean that when I buy a less expensive one, I am going to be honest with myself about what it actually is and how it will meaningfully compare with what I already have.
“I felt a great disturbance in the profit margin as if millions of Fender shareholders cried out in terror and were instantly silenced. I fear something horrible has happened.” -Obiwan Kenobi, Fender shareholder relations manager, probably 😂
People who really want a Fender are still going to buy one. The same goes for other brands like Gibson, PRS, Ibanez, and the like. Heck. I have played quite a few HB's and while they are perfectly decent guitars, I can't say I ever found myself regretting my Fender purchase after playing one. They are fine but they are (mostly) going for the entry to lower-mid tier market and perform accordingly.
@@AlexW-wv4nt Probably not. Squier has built up quite a following and considering their massive presence in guitar stores (at least in America), I doubt they are going to see any serious issues selling them. Harley Benton isn't the first company to push a lot of entry level guitars into the market. They will certainly sell but Fender has had a lot of time to build up the infrastructure necessary to support their market. Harley Benton isn't going to be a real threat to that.
He didn't mention that the Reverb price is more expensive than the Thomann site because the Reverb price has the shipping added on. That's why they can offer free shipping. I miss Thomann's old shipping rate.
Aaaaaaaaaaah, SHUCKS!!!😮 Reverb is about to see it's sells QUADRUPLE!!!! I bought 2 Harley Benton "Strat Style" guitars January 2020 when the Classic Vibes were out of stock at Fender. I still have them and I still LOVE them!!! The Swamp Ash Dlx I have was put together INCREDIBLY!!! Mind you, I already had a Fender American Standard 50th Anniversary Stratocaster before I bought the Harleys. Good Move, Reverb!!! 👍🎸🎶🎵
Both clean and/or natural tube overdriven demos is the obvious way to offer the sound quality of a guitar. Anything can be overdriven. It's a cheap trick and a lousy one, at that;)

Yea “adequate” is not a word I use for my guitar and gear

Reverb costs more now that Etsy bought it. I used to be a seller on reverb, but I stopped because they charge hefty fees, eBay is still the champion

@@startrekmike Fender might not be too worried about fender guitars, but they're probably worried about squier

Would like to know that too!

I've had their LP DC junior before, and I'm I'm already looking to grab one of their PRS-ish ones to do some mods.
I’d love to get one; duty to get them into Canada kills the value proposition
Yup.
Overdrive Crunch is not the best way to advertise a guitar

I hate what you did to your hat
I wouldn't buy a product promoted by a TH-camr. Everyone knows what they say and they promote whatever their sponsors tell them.
China
I don’t care it’s another strat copy
