    Thanks for the Vid. Just bought an XV 750, and was a little disillusioned with it… as a learner I had a Honda Shadow VT 125, so it seemed a natural progression once I passed my test…however I found it a very difficult and different ride! It wasn't until I watched your Vid that I realised just what I was doing wrong, and now I'm finding it the joy I hoped it would be. Thanks again.

      +Rick Martyn I'm glad I helped, as you probably know, I have moved onto a Harley Sportster. But I will have to say, the old Virago was probably a far smoother ride. I still have to ride my ZZR 1200 so I'm very lucky I can ride the Cruiser style and the sports tourer side RSMF

    Prejudice stops us enjoying anything that's a little different from our normal choice. Cruisers are great comfy bikes which you can ride all day and still be able to walk afterwards. Try them all, sportsbikes, cruisers, scooters, mopeds, they all bring a smile to your face, just being on a bike, the freedom, the open air.. Wonderful bikes!

    I bought a 750 for the missus and I took such a fancy to it I ended up with 2 1100's as well. Had the 3 for 15 years. Lots of carefree miles. Very comfortable and the 1100's are quite quick and will surprise many. 60 hp will keep you from getting bored. The only maintenance has been a couple of tires and of course the constant cleaning. Lot of chrome on these bikes. The only reason I got the second 1100 was thought I might need parts. That has yet to be the case for anything. Great bike on many levels.

      The Virago got me into cruising. I went on and got myself a Harley, but I will say, the Virago was more comfortable. Will have fond memories of that bike RSMF

    The Virago is one of the bikes that you love or hate. I've got a '92/1100. 750's are awesome for ripping around the city and some freeway. There are endless amounts of parts for them. I put a drag bar and a gunslinger seat on mine, It looks like a harly 1200. The engines are bullet-proof. Great video.

    • @gardenshedman
      @gardenshedman  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would have liked the 1200 engine probably but will not be altering it but will probably keep it standard, maybe some new pipes and that's all. Safe riding mate

    Great Video. I've had that bike for over ten years and love it. As a yank, this video is tough to watch. It makes my palms sweat because it feels as though you're riding on the wrong side of the road. I keep feeling as though a truck is going to come barreling around the corner and hit you head-in!!!

    • @gardenshedman
      @gardenshedman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do not own the Virago now. Had myself a 1200 Harley Sportster, which I've just sold. I have to say, the Virago was a good bike and got me into the cruising scene. As for riding on the other side of the road, when I'm driving in France, I do like driving/riding on the right. I think, in the long run, it's a lot safer RSMF

  • @KU0136

    Hi from Aussie good overview of the 750. Had one for 4 years now a 94 750 great cruiser all round. Well balanced and now becoming retro cool. Reliable Harley copy with no worries about it being stolen as well. Kinda riding a miss daisy bike. Don't try to keep up with your Ducati mates though, unless your will is up to date, is a good suggestion as well. Corners hard when you have do and will hold in if you keep lots of faith up. No dramas with them overall other than the engine whine which can be fixed with sufficient Whisky. It's a 8 outa 10 bike.

    • @gardenshedman
      @gardenshedman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was my first cruiser type bike. I did move on to a Harley Sportster 1200, but I am now back on a sport tourer. But I still think one day I will have another cruiser RSMF

    Those are good little bikes. Cheap to maintain too. My Harleys have a lot more pizz-azz but they are pricey to buy and to keep up with. I still have one of these, mine is a 94 but runs pretty good and I feel no shame stretching her legs. My Harleys will always be the charm though.

    • @gardenshedman

      Have to agree, a good old bike. But I would say Harleys probably have it for me, had a Harley for a couple of years (Sportster 1200) then moved back to my favourite bikes, Sport Tourers.

      I found the seating position a little bit low, but then again, I am 6'2". Would recommend as an entry bike to the cruising scene, it's second to none, but I would go for the bigger engine version of that model. Now on a Harley Sportster. Have to say, not a lot in the two, probably the Virago is a bit more comfortable - hope that helps RSMF

      Suffolk Andy It’s the first bike I’ve owned and only been riding for 2 months. I only have $750 into it. I’m in love with thing lol. My friend just bought a 2007 Harley and I rode it last week and I have to say, it feels a little like a tin can and there is a lot of flex in the frame making the “death wobble” too easy to get into trouble with. I’d never buy one but as a nice considerate friend, I didn’t admit the flaws I felt in his bike. Over all. Japanese all the way for me. When I was younger I had a Honda and all my friends had American made vehicles and even way back then 20 years ago I could feel the difference and I was proud of what I was driving.

      The only thing I can say about having a Harley Davidson is the one that I owned for two years, a 1200 Sportster. I will say about the bike, I had a love/hate relationship with it, probably would not purchase another if I went for a cruiser, I think it'll have to be Japanese. Just found the Harley a bit wanting and a bit small for somebody my size RSMF

    hi i would like your advice. For many years i have ridden a scooter with my legs stretched out and in a week or so im buying a bike to learn on and take my test. i have been told a vfr750 is really comfy and great for touring which is why im doing the test in the first place. because of my style i really wanted a chopper i have been advised it would be very hard to pass a test on. Im liking the look of cruisers it looks like its comfy and your legs are stretched out. I enjoy the drive not the speed so do you think this would be a ideal bike? thanks

I will sell it for $2500. write to Gary at GaryLordsWay@aol.com. I have Highway pegs on mine too. Carbs rebuilt and synked as well as new highway tires. That is one of the things I will have to do, is to change the shocks on it to more progressive ones to some the ride up on it, to stiff riding right now. Unless your a big man of over 200 lbs.
