It's stupid but I all can tell you is that go behind the bot and look for which side the blue bomb is going and go that direction, also play as sonic if you want to beat it on easier mode (not saying the other characters are on hard mode but sonic is easier on this part) another thing is that there isn't a checkpoint after the first phase so good luck

The final boss was actually kinda hard, I like that, I’m glad it was challenging
Glad it was not as hard as the final boss of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
It aint challenging. It's stupid (in my opinion) all of superstars bosses want you to wait until the next pattern to hit it. And in the first phase you can't even attack it half of the time because it blocks the attacks. So thats about another half a minute or more trying to get the rockets to hit him.And remember that if you get hit, the emerald powers automatically deactivate and you can't use em again. And the second phase has the stupidest 1 hit kill move in the whole game.

How to do bosses with no damage and no powers
mosasaurus bot: keep running and time you jumps
eggman robo brawler: depending on the attack you must hit him before or after he attacks (launching fist is after while spinning arms is before)
mosquito bot: spindash across the cord and dodge the telegraffed electric attacks
Fang the Hunter 1: keep going and jumping to dodge the misiles, when he does the little laser jump a bit after you’ve seen it
egg swinger: dodge his ground pound attacks and lead the chain back to him, when he fires misiles try to hit the blue ones back however you have to aim in order to get them to hit you
egg fan: dodge his attacks and climb towards him, wait for him to come down and hit him
clown bot: have patience during phases 2 and 3 in order to avoid the electric floors, and to bounce the highest on those bumpers try to hit the middle top of them
Egg wheels: avoid the attacks and use the wheels to launch yourself into them
Jellyfish bot: jump when electricity hits the floor to avoid getting shocked, it only electrifies the floor if said electricity is attached to the tentacles
Egg water mixer P1: try to jump to the top and use the air streams of thee torpedos to reach him
Egg water mixer P2: just jump on the platforms in order to reach him, also avoid the misiles
Egg digger: avoid the tiles he launches and jump against the first badnik that jumps out of the ground, if you somehow missed one do not worry it will jump so you can have another shot, when the tiles shake then get off of them to avoid getting drilled then jump on his head if you can
Swinging ape bot: avoid the hydronic presses and make sure you are above the robot when it swings to the lower pipe so you could jump and immediately hit it
Egg steam presser: stand on the little platforms and then jump on the hammer to then jump on the cockpit (it is possible to do it in one jump), avoid additional electric attacks and proceed
Golden piggy bot: as it runs towards you just jump on it’s pink drain plug to damage it, make sure you land on the same side (in front of it so you could repeat the proces two more times so it would never have the time to do it’s other attacks
fang the hunter 2: stay mostly on the right side of the screen and jump to hit him early, when he uses the blue hexagons just jump like a mad man and you’ll eventually have an opening, the one time you shouldn’t be at the right side of the screen during one of his attack phases is when he spins the laser things around him, just go with the lasers until they stop to go to the one side that doesn’t have a laser thing so you could hit him
Robo avatar small: during it’s small phase just stay mostly on the right side so you could hit him as soo as he stops his charging attack and also right after he shot his first electric ball when he has the mech suit thing just avoid the lasers and for his charge attack just hit him as soon as you’re underneath him
Robo avatar big: hit the smaller robots after they got staggered by hitting the ground, however they follow the same physics as the blue missiles so just aim it towards the big robot, if he uses his enemy summoning laser just jump over the enemies, when he slides his hands across the floor just get on a higher ground to then jump and hit his head
Terrordactyl bot: stay low when it drops bombs and stay high when it doesn’t
Satellite thing: shoot in it’s mouth and avoid projectiles
asteroid balloon thing: hit the balloons and avoid projectiles
Eggman emperor bot: just run and hit blue missiles when you’re behind him, if he does the ground slam attack then just run and avoid electric attacks, stop when you’re behind him
phase 2: jump over the lowest laser, avoid projectiles and blocks that block you path a little, hit his head when he does ground slam attack
Fang the hunter 3: screw this guy just watch the video
Purple dragon: collect rings, touch tails and knuckles for more rings, avoid black holes and hit blue meteors, if you do get stuck in a black hole just dash out of it at the cost of 5 rings
purple dragon phase 2: hit it’s hands
fun fact: getting stuck in fang's electro webs (phase 2) you can break out by mashing!
And by the time you do, it’s too late.

Worst thing about these bosses is that they rely heavily on being invulnerable most of the time, it just makes the battle unnecessarily longer and if you die you gotta do everything all over again, which is specially awful on the final bosses.
like bitch, it was already bad enough to do the fingers thing in Sonic 3 again after you accidentally die on the epic chase phase, or fighting Robo Sonic after Death Egg fucking kills you because you have no rings, I don't want to go behind the Cheap Death Egg or fight Fang in a scooter again just because the Epic Chase has too little chances to hit and Fang can literally instakill.

Finale boss: death egg robot 2.0
The final Fang fight in Trip's story is so fucking stupid. 2 phases and they each have an insta kill. Phases 1 is okay and I could do it flawless now but phase 2 with the spider webs is soo dumb! I love how at 45:18 you get stuck by TWO spider webs and are able to manage to get out in time but I get caught in ONE and I die. This is the first boss fight where I think it is design horribly and the fact that there is instant kill and you need to start ALL OVER is so painful. Especially because phase 1 takes like 3 mins to complete in order to start phase 2 and I know the strat is to jump on top of a hill when the webs comes out but theres just a tiny bit of RNG with it. Its a drag!
31:53 some dumb mechanics, you get hit by something you get launched to the left side of the screen where the platforms are dropping so instant death all the time. Makes no sense I wish they would remove that animation. When Sonic gets hit have him just lose the rings and keep going. Being launched to the left side doesn’t make any sense in a lot of these boss fights. Having rings gives you the ability to be hit and recover some of your rings so that you can be hit again and avoid death. But when ur landing in a platform that’s going down it takes away the whole point of the rings

This videos always show up in my recommendations but i don't think I've clicked one before. Is his gameplay always this bad? It looks normal enough for a first time player but I kind of expected the footage to be from more practiced runs with fewer mistakes and optimal strategies.

For a game about speed, the boss fights are oh so sloooow.
I’ve seen some people say they hate the final boss (not talking about the true final boss) for a few reasons, but honestly I loved this boss, especially for a certain topic i want to bring up. Spoilers down below. Topic is the third paragraph. I’d rather you read that than the first two if you aren’t up for it.
This boss was *tough!* Honestly it got me really frustrated for a while, especially because the track you run on bugs and drop the rings through them sometimes. If that gets fixed I’d have a lot more fun replaying that boss fight. It is easier to cheese with the emerald powers, especially phase 2, but i preferred the challenge. I understand people don’t like it because it’s kinda like a reused death egg robot trope to them, but I see it for that and for not that. The boss feels more like a reference to the death egg robots, especially phase 2 being a scroller like sonic 3’s death egg robot phase 2. The boss has some attacks that are similar to other games, like the satellite looking dishes shooting lasers you dodge (sonic 3 death egg boss laser) and the slamming down and destroying part of the track makes me reminisce on sonic 4’s death egg robot (Whether that’s a good thing or not), but the rest of the attacks feels more new and unique to this game, although I could be missing some references. I really loved the secret final boss as well! No not the true final boss, the secret final boss. It’s kinda just a imitation of the final boss, but the attack changes really do make it unique in its own way. It was tough as well, but not as tough as the final boss imo, despite the insta kill attacks all over. Both bosses work similarly and don’t have a ton of different attacks just a bunch of stages (difficulty in attacks increase), so I prefer to group them both together in concept as one boss. It’s like one boss with three stages! Fang has a different first phase before his big robot appears and doesn’t have the final phase eggman has, but his robot takes like 9 hits to beat unlike eggman’s with like 6 per stage. His first phase does take 6 to beat, with 3 hits to the next stage.
I love their bosses! I wish we had boss rush and a boss select so I wouldn’t have to run through the stage just to do them again. If they did add boss rush, I’d love to see a nightmare boss team up with both robots back to back! A three phase boss attack with new gimmicks like eggman fighting along side fang in a buffed up egg mobile, then it switches to both mechs back to back, switching with each other to attack and support. You’d have to parry their projectiles in between the sides of both robots and the projectile you parry will hit the robot it is assigned to (missiles for eggman and the bouncing barrels/badniks for fang). Finally eggman would reverse time and start chasing you alone in the scrolling phase, while fang’s robot would fall out of screen, but once you beat eggman, fang’s robot will come out of nowhere and take eggman’s place for a unique scrolling section with new attacks from fang. Kind of like a phase four (or second stage?). That would be so epic! It would push your skills to the limit! Now I won’t lie, that’d be insanely difficult. Perhaps you could get rings each phase and maybe some attacks could be slightly nerfed like insta KOs not being insta KOs or they’d just be delayed so you have more time to react. Maybe the boss could just be dlc and not a forced extreme boss rush exclusive so you could have checkpoints in between the phases. Either way, it’d be so cool to see, sadly I don’t see it happening ever.
Now with all that out of the way, there is one more thing I’d like to mention. It has to do with how the final boss plays and how it looks. “It looks like a death egg robot, so what? Big deal.” Well this may or may not have to do with why I like it so much. Do you guys know who Christian Whitehead is? If you’ve played sonic mania or the classic sonic mobile ports you do, or maybe you know them some other way. Bare with me here, going back over a decade here, there was plans to add a secret final boss to sonic cd. It was going to be the true final fever. Sadly it got cancelled for many reasons. The final act would be in a distorted time warp. The boss was designed to look like a giant eggman robot, kinda like a death egg robot. It was suppose to be indestructible, but by going back in time, you could damage a a part of it during construction and then you’d be warp back forward and repeat. I always loved the idea of this boss, it killed me every time to know it never got finished. I always imagined you’d be running around it in a loop trying to find the time post and maintaining speed while dodging attacks, falling platforms, and finding the perfect time to make a break for it. Sound a little familiar? Now I know Christian Whitehead wasn’t involved with sonic superstars. It’s highly unlikely the team behind superstars used final fever as a reference. Maybe to everyone else I am just stretching with this comparison, but it is what it is. The final boss in this game to me really feels like the final fever we never got. Sure the boss isn’t indestructible, but you can’t hit it without running around the boss in a loop, avoiding attacks, falling platforms, and finding the one blue missile to parry at its back and damage it. Not to mention the setting of the battle uses some kind of distorted warp in time, what with you running through act 1 but in literal reverse because of time shenanigans and eggman using that again to reverse the damages and defeat of his robot (unless that just happened on its own, which makes me wonder if that was intentional by eggman or not, but it would also further the point of time being distorted). It just felt so right! It felt so amazing to experience something close to that. Whether or not this boss has some reference connections to final fever or not, it still according polishes that for me. It doesn’t matter to me if you think sonic superstars is good or bad, this final boss will have a special place in my heart.
Tbh the ice pterodactyl boss was significantly worse than this boss
