I know I'm an outlier, yet still `I must comment. This drill, like so many defensive drills, emphasizes defense versus the hard driven attack. But that is not reality. Most successful digs result from blocking deflections, shots and links. Further, if you are lucky enough to dig a driven ball, it is rare to convert that dig to any kind of quality swing. Normally driven balls, on the exceedingly rare occasion they are dug, result in free balls, and ultimately no points. I wish coaches would implement drills accepting the reality of the game, instead of this drill based on fantasy.
