One good thing about younger kids is they still repect their elders and honer authorithy. They are ready and willing to learn.Good job coaching, God bless
I've been coaching at the college level for close to 25 years, now I'm starting to coach my 10 year old daughter and her friends, this was unbelievably helpful, can't thank you enough.
This is such an amazing video!! I mostly coach varsity, but am helping with younger players and the breakdown will definitely help me with the learning process. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for your videos, I'm coming from a baseball background, with an amazing son that now wants to do volleyball, and he's got very inexperienced coaches. I have been basically forced into coaching next season, lol, and while I have a penchant for coaching I have no volleyball experience so I really appreciate your videos and I'm looking forward to learning a lot.
Thank, you. Welcome over to the sport. Fortunately, there are many parallels in different sports, so I know there are motions that are similar to baseball that will help! 😊
During the setting drill, what do you mean by "plug your ears"? I don't understand what you mean by: "The faster you plug your ears, the higher the set goes."
@@my5 Thank you for your direct response to my question. So, then, what you mean is: when I raise my hands up, my shoulders rise to cover my ears. Doing this rapidly (while serving) creates more force to send the ball up into the air. But rather than focus on "forcing the ball up into the air", you are having them focus on the body mechanics involved in producing that outcome. I like it. Thanks.

I agree! I have coached varsity and 8th grade... 10-12 year olds is much much harder. Thank you for the ideas!
This was so helpful for our 5-8th winter camp! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, I’m working with a group of young girls teaching them volleyball. Your videos are full of great tips.

I love that you make the explanations quick !
Really useful layouts for the drills !
Thanks

Nice! Good job!
Good video😊
This is so helpful! Thank you! What age group is this? Do you ever teach young kids (ie 5th grade) to serve underhand?

@@Daniel_McD try to touch your ears with your shoulders like you're diving into a pool.

@Daniel_McD exactly. Well said, I'm an athlete/coach, not a poet. Lol.
thank you!
