    Respect to Tarantino. He showed up to Russia to promote his movie even though he didn't need to - it's a small market. Interviewer respects him and seeks to engage him creatively, as a filmmaker, not as a celebrity. Nice to see.

    I didn't know the Manson murders story and I would definitely recommend you research as it made no sense to me. I've since researched and then watched it again and made for a much better experience. The first time I was confused the whole time

    • @maxdembo5242
      @maxdembo5242 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ForzaTerra89 I know everything about the Manson murders cause I got into researching that whole thing for awhile but while watching this movie I thought about that too- like people, or especially younger people, who don’t know the story would be confused. It helps knowing the story.

    • @ForzaTerra89
      @ForzaTerra89 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Max Dembo i was just confused the whole time; especially about Margot Robbie. I didn’t know she was supposed to get killed, I was more just wondering what she even did in the movie or what the point or story was. Especially in the movie theatre as I knew it wasn’t her on the screen so I was like, is she lying? Is she pretending to be someone famous? The Manson family also greatly confused me and what they were doing
      Now it makes sense but yeah. It just made for a very confusing experience

    • @maxdembo5242
      @maxdembo5242 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ForzaTerra89 Yeah, I totally get that. Also knowing the true story made it exciting because since I knew the truth of what happened it kept me wondering/anticipating the whole time what Quentin was going to do with it. I knew he was going change it but didn’t know how. Then the ending kind of means something cause it’s like he rewrote history and Sharon Tate got to live which is kind of sweet since the truth is very sad. I guess Quentin just expected people to know or look up the story ahead of time but I can see how you and others would be super confused.

      @Nathan Lucero It was one of the questions the interviewer asked him in this video... why he didn't have a cameo in this movie...
      he doesn't appear on screen in this one in any capacity, but his voice is the one that says "Bounty Law!!!" in the beginning...
      he also didn't appear in Hateful Eight, but again was the voice over narrator that says "Someone poisoned the coffee"
      Tarantino essentially said in the interview he's at point where he's not interested in seeing himself on screen anymore

    Much as I hate to critique anything about QT movies. The song that played during the Playboy mansion season: where the heck did that come from? (Son of a Lovin' Man). I lived during the 60s & that song is very obscure & in fact I don't even remember hearing it before. It's not even a very good song. Why didn't QT pick a more evocative rock song from 1969?

      @danbam3411 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kathleen Noehren To be honest, that kind of bugged me throughout the movie too. I like Tarantino’s sense of bringing out more obscure music but to me, he seemed too obsessed on getting Paul Revere and the Raiders out a lot. He should’ve gotten The Doors’ “Strange Days” or The Stooges’ “1969”. There’s nothing wrong with having a more known band every now and then.
      Or even Donovan’s “Hurdy Gurdy Man”.

      So true! Many hippies liked to play “b sides” as they called them. More known songs are expensive don’t forget that too. He’s bringing out stuff from his childhood but even if he wanted those he couldn’t get a larger collection of good perhaps more obscure songs. Brad and Leo and everybody didn’t receive as much as they do for a regular movie they’d do y’know? Tarantino isn’t making a Disney blockbuster. Besides now these songs are well known because of the movie and I’m quite interested into seeing the catalogue of those singers and bands!
