viva the internet - i think we are in a whole new era of how people learn. many educators/teaching professionals are just now realizing this... i think it is being branded 'mobile learning' : ) i am happy to be a part of it
Hey Patrick thank you so much!!! Every time I have problems with math, I come to youtube and specifically type in your channel. Now I have an email, so I subscribed. You are such a huge help. God bless you and just keep doing what you're doing man. You are awesome. :)
well, you can not always find the inverse directly as the algebra can get complicated (assuming an inverse exists)... you can find the derivative of the inverse at a point sometimes though...
I am refreshing my Algebra memory after 12 years for an exam next week. I feel like I have gone back to school while watching your video or even better. No math teacher has taught me these so perfectly like you do!...You are truly a very patient teacher!..Bless you and Thank you for all this help :)
This is about the ninth video I've watched from you in the past two weeks. I'm going to stop looking in the search and check your videos first. Thank you for the past and future help!
THANK YOU! I have math 6th period and it's my space-out period...you are my favorite person right now. Your teaching is so fluid and understandable, you're the best
You've saved me so many times it's incredible. Please be aware that your coming online and posting these videos really will be payed off with Karma. Thanks Pat!
@SamForsterr dont feel that way : ) many people are on autopilot when doing algebra and never actually think about what they are doing and why it is valid/invalid. keep doing what you are doing!
hi patrick...3 years ago i watched your vids as a senior in highschool...now watching them again in preparation for my pcat next month...thanks for being so awesome and putting these up...you're helping so many of us :) x
I always felt like you were the underrated KhanAcademy. But dude, you're videos are amazing. Like, I can stay ahead in math because I watch your videos for 10 minutes. Keep making these videos and thanks for all your time and work in making them!
actually, you would have to restrict it to x >= - 3 as that is the range of the original (remember, domain and range switch). but yes, you are right, i should have noted that!!
ops, i take that back, i have a video titled ' inverse functions - the basics ' (or something like that) where i discuss that stuff. i use a continuous function in that video, but it is all the same.
I HAVE A FINAL TOMORROW STUDYING I DIDNT REMEMBER HOW TO DO THIS OR EVEN LEARNING IT MY TEACHER DIDNT EXPAINN IT RIGHT. I GOT THANK YOU SO MUCH LIFE SAVER
well, pattern recognition is a key component to math. i have found myself spotting the patterns before i am able to understand 'why' those patterns arises in the first place!
@ThePsionicMatrixTM the calculus stuff, at least, is in sequential order. the algebra stff, is not really ordered very well at the moment! gonna fix it though
I have finals tomorrow & you just saved my life. Going to continue watching your videos the next few days. :) Love the way you teach, step by step and very clear! Thank you!
great videos man, greatly appreciate you posting this up for students who are trying to learn. thanks for dedicating your time to this and i wish you the best
woah, couldn't understand this in class today of 45 minutes, watched 5 minutes of this video and understood it thoroughly. Why can't my teacher be this good?
Thanx man!! I got referred to your channel by a friend 2 semesters ago, and I've been watching every since. You make it clear, perhaps more than my professors. I gotta go until Calculus and I'm starting to not mind. Thanx again. Big help. Keep em coming
Thank you. I am in PreCal now and it's been years since College Algebra (I changed my major to a math heavy major [Astronomy]). I had a problem on my homework just like your second example, except mine had F(x) = (4-3x)/(5x-4) and your step-by-step got me right through it to the point where I understand the purpose.
you go boy! you taught me a lot. my teacher explained everything to me but i cant understand him. i was like "the fudge. what are you saying?how did this happen?! geez tell me! i wanna find out! yaaa!" and you, you taught with just a minute and i understand it clearly. thank you so much. :)
thank you! for taking your time and doing this videos man :) i have a calc test tomorrow morning and the review part included this and i didn't remember it at all! thanks man
You actually makes calculus look like a puzzle, you actually make it fun for me...my professor puts me to sleep -___- My major involves a lot of physics and calculus, so i gotta learn to love it, your videos are helping me on that level too ^^thx!
I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all of your wonderful lessons and tips! You've been helping me since I was in high school four years ago =) Your easy to understand approach and diverse examples take away the intimidating factor my teacher occasionally places on the subject More power to you!
I can say that your videos are the reason I got an A in calc AB, calc BC and a 5 on both tests. Now, they're getting me through college calc. Thank you!!!
Hey. I wanted to thank you for your videos. They explain the topics simply and quickly which is exactly what i need to brush up on this math i was able to do very well years ago. Again thank you
This is a great explanation. My language of college algebra book is way too convoluted and my professor is too brief with his explanations, so this is a nice tool to bridge the two. Thanks.
youtube keeps trying to distract me from learning by posting video game ads. not now youtube, patrick has the wheel. omg, a new meme. PATRICK TAKE THE WHEEL
He has taught me more in 8 minutes than my teacher has in 3 weeks.
Cool lol
Verania Elizondo me too...
HE MUST B E TEACHING U VERY DEEP BASICS..

algebra is for 95% of calculus students, the thing they end up struggling with the most
well, you can not always find the inverse directly as the algebra can get complicated (assuming an inverse exists)... you can find the derivative of the inverse at a point sometimes though...

take THAT math!!
actually, you would have to restrict it to x >= - 3 as that is the range of the original (remember, domain and range switch).
but yes, you are right, i should have noted that!!
This was very helpful. I find your videos easier to understand than my teacher's class lectures.
Thank you very much.
@arienevenida my pleasure!
the way you explain things make it seem so easy, thanks for all the great videos - really helped me a lot !
You do not know the extent that all of your videos have helped me!
ops, i take that back, i have a video titled ' inverse functions - the basics ' (or something like that) where i discuss that stuff. i use a continuous function in that video, but it is all the same.
feel free to point them out if you want.
you are the best with explaining so far I have seen. I thank you for posting this very much.
I HAVE A FINAL TOMORROW STUDYING I DIDNT REMEMBER HOW TO DO THIS OR EVEN LEARNING IT MY TEACHER DIDNT EXPAINN IT RIGHT. I GOT THANK YOU SO MUCH LIFE SAVER

i have found myself spotting the patterns before i am able to understand 'why' those patterns arises in the first place!
thank you so much. i use you as my "online teacher" because you explain it so much better than my professor. i watch all of your math videos
@ThePsionicMatrixTM the calculus stuff, at least, is in sequential order. the algebra stff, is not really ordered very well at the moment! gonna fix it though
@mrprinceque happy that my explanation works for you
@MrBacchusaphrodite instead of multiplying things out in your first step, i would divide by x, and 1 and then divide by 3 to get y alone
your handwriting is very good!!! that along with your teaching style makes everything so clear!
you deserve a nobel prize for doing this. thanks alot mate.
happy it helped : )
Patrick you make my first year phd in economics much easier with the total control of the most useful mathematical tools :)
this is a different strategy than what my teacher taught and it made a whole lot more sense. thanks dawg.
I have finals tomorrow & you just saved my life. Going to continue watching your videos the next few days. :) Love the way you teach, step by step and very clear! Thank you!
@SamForsterr if two things are equal, then squaring them both would mean they are still equal
Thank you so much; you are my new hero! You actually explain this in ways I can understand, which is something that cannot be said for my teachers.
My teacher might as well sit back and put your videos on as our lessons. It would make our lives and her's much easier!
great videos man, greatly appreciate you posting this up for students who are trying to learn. thanks for dedicating your time to this and i wish you the best
woah, couldn't understand this in class today of 45 minutes, watched 5 minutes of this video and understood it thoroughly. Why can't my teacher be this good?
You and Sal are my most visited tutor channel. God bless. :)
Thanx man!! I got referred to your channel by a friend 2 semesters ago, and I've been watching every since. You make it clear, perhaps more than my professors. I gotta go until Calculus and I'm starting to not mind. Thanx again. Big help. Keep em coming
It's people like you that help me pass tests in a school I just transferred to with dumbass math teachers ♥ I love you with all my heart ♥

My online teacher put this on our assignment to watch and it helped so much!
@imanrox1 if saying ' no ' is rude to you, i am not sure what to say other than: i hope you are joking.
Definitely explains better than most math professors!
@Bigmikeydeez happy i could help : )

you just switch the ordered pairs around - i am pretty sure i discuss this in this video
This is a great explanation. My language of college algebra book is way too convoluted and my professor is too brief with his explanations, so this is a nice tool to bridge the two. Thanks.
Thank you for letting me not fail my test tomorrow. By breaking all this shit down, i love you.
You worked that second problem like magic
