West Van is filled with ultra rich millionnaires so they typically aren't walking the streets constantly. It's a small city which is like a giant, rich suburb
there are only a few properties worth that much. Besides predator sightings are generally much more common in west van than other parts of metro vancouver, which is why people drive cars. there were a handful of pets who died to cougars and bears last year, and at least 2 coyote dens were reported since last november. its a widely recognized issue in west van and north van as well. its not always 'cause people have money. i dont think u have seen, in contrast to the higher class car brands, the abundance of echos, prius, yaris, fit,or accents. it would be more fact based to say that west van, compared t other neighborhoods in metro vancouver, is slightly more wealthier. vancouver central is more affluent than west van.

mikeos1 west van is very big, children do not go onto the streets normally, they go in cars and go to the playground, maybe they took this video on a school day?
@@sarahy1113 yeah it was prob on a school day, or most people drive cars because of the wildlife. also the altitude and geography of the mountain base lays a factor in foot navigation because very rarely u are walking on a flat sidewalk.

A fun fact is that the median/average price of single family houses for sale in West Vancouver is lower than City of Vancouver’s.
I would pay $5+ mil for a home there if the view was great enough (and it looks like not all places up there have such views).
