Rare occurrence! Yesterday (June 24th, 2023) the AC Transit's Transbay Route F was operated by mostly Van Hool AG300 articulated buses for an unknown reason. Normal 40-foot Gillig Transbay buses were running until at around noon, when they were called back to the yard and these Van Hools came out to replace them.
This almost never happened in the past, where an articulated bus operates on the F. Over the past years F is one of the highest ridership transbay routes, with population around Berkeley (UC Berkeley students too), Ashby and Emeryville. It is even better this time with these artics being Van Hools!
The ride was so good! Riding these 2009 buses on the Bay Bridge is a brand-new experience, and you get to hear that strong Voith powering loudly and heating the bus up! These opportunities are getting less and less before this entire batch of Van Hools retire...

Why are XD60s and AG300s running on the F, NL, and O? What happened with the Gillig Transbay Buses?

It was due to the Pride Weekend in SF

I checked on Pantagraph transit, earlier and there isn't a single Gillig Transbay bus around
