You know, while I don't really give a shit about boats, being a lifelong landlubber, you somehow managed to make all of this extremely entertaining and interesting! This was FUN! Thanks for sharing you journey with this, and for your skill with editing it enough to keep it from dragging too much. Great stuff, man!
Great one, yeah man, you just described my life, I really like the short term ones so I see the real deal quicker but sometimes, it's a long time deal with myself and then I get to say. This one was a money maker and this one was free and these all together is how i pay the bills and I hope this plan keeps working! I didn't realize you could see who is subscribed or not, I thought maybe i just get ignored by chance. Made me feel better. Ha!
Keep doing the boat stuff as well. I absolutely love the mixture of content. You already know I've been here a minute 🙃. Plus it give me excuses to add more to my collection
Get yourself a welding tip cleaner. It has some very fine cleaning tools that can work great for carb jets. The other thing you can do it take apart some stranded wire and use one piece of the strand to get through those tiny openings. Also, if you put grease on both sides of those gaskets before you install them, they won't stick to the surfaces like you had to deal with, and next time, they will come right off. I love your attitude towards life. Yes, sucking at something is usually better than doing nothing. People need to leave their fear behind and just TRY something. Whatever it is, it will most likely be fine. Keep up the good work Josh!
And you get to spend more time with us, your Global Audience from around the World. So doing things yourself is a Win Win decision! 👏👏👏👏👏 And of course it was nice watching Chloe pouring over upright wood!😜😂😂
TH-cam is pissing me off. I looked repeatedly to see when your next video is gonna be posted and couldn't find anything on the home screen or even looking at your page. But then I find this video 7 hours later.
I'm a mechanic for a living, and I totally understand wanting the problem to be obvious, it makes things much simpler, lol. Diagnosing non-obvious problems can be a major PITA. I always enjoy your videos, stay weird!
Watching him cut those angles made me smile more than it probably should have, but he's "called" me a nerd throughout a number of videos so I'd say it's karma. 🤣
Dude i totally get making your own stand. Sometimes i do it because i have extra supplies lying around and sometimes i do it because i feel i can make it better than a product i could buy. Then again I do it because sometimes I just want to make something. I actually scavange supplies because im cheap. Heres a tip. I don't know if you have a tractor supply near you but they throw away metal pallets that the zero turns and side by sides come in on. They have them stacked up behind the store. I take a angle grinder with me and cut them down because it gives me free angle to use for random projects. It helps them out and free is awesome.
Outboards with remote controls usually have the electric choke on a solenoid that just flips a linkage that covers up the carb mouths or plunges enrichener circuit plungers, pushing the key in is usually how you use the choke.
Concha Dulce, have you checked the breather holes on the Gas Tank? Maybe blowing Fuel Lines through with compressed air would help and washing fuel filler caps.👍
Based on the clips in this video, I find preference in the GoPro over the DJI camera. The picture quality appears brighter and more crisp in the GoPro than the DJI.
I like clarity and vibrant color of the DJI but there's something a little off with the perspective of the wide angle. Things look narrower or taller than they really are especially in the center of the image.
As the engine is running sounds like getting it running up to spec would be relatively straight forward. Fuel pump? Overheating part of the ignition? Seems worth having a boat engine tech taking a look.
"Freddie" would be a good nickname for your Mercury.🤣😂😂 Duct Tape an old Credit Card over the Intake! 👍 Edit: Super impressed, your got the deal of the century Brother!👏👏👏👏👏
I fully back putting that Merc on yer yacht, hard to beat the smell of 2 stroke exhaust and salt water. Then get yer parts and make that thing a 60 horse. I like to get a baseline before upgrading so I can compare. Cheers 🍻
I use to make claymation with a vhs camera using the counter. It kinda worked, but the audio was hilarious at the least. "Car, house, rapid weight, O-R-E, yes Dr."
So my own personal opinion.. I have run both. I prefer 2 stroke myself, call me old school but I love the sound I love the smell I love the power of a 2stroke. Yes the 4stroke is more economical and quieter but there is something about the 2 stroke that I have always felt were just more my style?! 👊😎
If I were you, I would sell the 4stroke because you like the 2stroke more and selling the 4stroke earns you more money to do fun things. By the way, I liked the boat videos but I like the motorbike videos more. But to be honest, there is nothing wrong met miss Cloe on a boat 😊
The last time I had a problem like that it was the primer fuel bulb off the gas tank. It had small perish marks and was sucking air it at speed. Swapped the bulb and line out and the problem was solved. Not saying that is your problem but it was after the boat sat for a while
I'd say atleast try the merc on the boat first to see if it works on that boat as in the weight, size so on. If you like how it works and feels then sure sell the other. Either way you came out ahead lol. Good vid
A carburetor is a carburetor is a carburetor and it is not a boaturetor. It's a common misunderstanding among the residents of Boaterstan (FL). By the way the transom on your enginestan will be failing, i.e. falling off while weighted with a boatmotor, long before you have gotten your moneys worth. The fact that engine runs worse the faster it goes is a clue that needs to deduced, like check the entire fuel system from cart to tank, especially that little breather thingy.
Keep the Honda motor it’s better suited for the little boat and fix the auto choke and then fix up the mercury and sell that then you have a great little boat and a great Honda motor for a few hundred dollars.
I think everyone needs a cloe around. She’s awesome. The chest mount dji is far superior in quality. Now I see the difference idk how you could use GoPro
No air cleaner needed on an outboard engine. There are very few dusty roads... on lakes. You can't compare the Hero 4 to a much more advanced DJI. The Hero has the earliest version of stabilization programing, while the DJI has nearly the latest stabilization technology. Pick up a, at the very least, Go Pro 9, and get the same, if not better, stabilization, and better graphics. They're cheap now.
Ok this is Random...God figure.. Does Chloé remind anyone else of that psychic chick that goes into haunted houses? Amy.....Amy....oh hell I forget her name! Amy Allen, yeah, that's it!!!
I find the Go Pro Hero 4 footage more realistic and I'm seeing the position of the other vehicles rather than being blinded by the gloss on the DJI 4 , I think the colour is enhanced on the DJI 4. "If ain't broke don't try fix it" , I would stick with the Go Pro Hero 4 for realism. But realism might be associated with poor quality in the USA,since your TV's have the colour and brightness way up and the glossy pizzazz of Show Business is something you might want increase in your vlogs. Eh🤔, I think we just want you to stay healthy Buddy! 👊✌️ Edit: I definitely can see further ahead on the road with your Go Pro Hero 4. Confidently I use a Hero 4 Session and I'm happy with the quality and folks have commented on it's good quality and stability.👍

There are only 3 people I envy on TH-cam, and Shadetree is one of them. Arguably, the number one 😂
No need of fancy cars. He’s having the best life on a budget.
Gotta love anything that converts money into noise!

The real answer is dual motor. Why choose when your can run both.
Ur hired
I like it, but they would be hell to sync.
Ur the man shade tree! U got a running boat for many fishing trips with the ladies❤
Great one, yeah man, you just described my life, I really like the short term ones so I see the real deal quicker but sometimes, it's a long time deal with myself and then I get to say. I like the boat vids, no reason you can't mix it up a little and branch out from time to time. After all, variety is the spice of life as they say👍
I just upgraded to the hero 13 with a dji mic. The quilty is night and day and the video stabilisation is awsome. Well worth the upgrade!
And you get to spend more time with us, your Global Audience from around the World. So doing things yourself is a Win Win decision! 👏👏👏👏👏

Clicking "Notify me!" should do something!

You did a great job on the boat motor stand. Fantastic skills
Dude i totally get making your own stand. Sometimes i do it because i have extra supplies lying around and sometimes i do it because i feel i can make it better than a product i could buy. That 300k is gunna look goood. Well deserved.
Hope everything gets better man.
Outboards with remote controls usually have the electric choke on a solenoid that just flips a linkage that covers up the carb mouths or plunges enrichener circuit plungers, pushing the key in is usually how you use the choke.
Could be a good challenge to put the second motor up for trade and barter your way to another boat or motorcycle
Time to get another boat for the extra engine
I like the way you think
@@shadetreesurgeon You been looking and we know and love it.
Could list both for sale and see which one gets a bite 1st. 😎
2 STROKE ALL THE WAY
Ive been watching u for a long time. I love everything u do and that u are having the time of your life. Continue to be blessed n enjoy your life.
Put the merc on it !
The legend that is Shadetree Surgeon! Well done on that engine!
The king has risen . Long live the king 🤴
9:28 For future ref, Jesus wasn't a Carpenter, it was Joseph his Dad. 👍🤣😂😂
Josh my 2 cents. Keep the Honda outboard. I owned a black anchor 50 hp. Breaking down became the high point of my boating life .
My cheap cooler I take to work is covered in brapstar/shadetree stickers I agree it somehow makes things better 😀
Dude! That is treasure. DIY add the learning. Always take pride. Great job!
Keep the Merc, sell the Honda to fund a road trip
Shadetree I had an old Johnson 70 HP that would do about the same thing. Ended up being the coil pack. Good luck bud you all take care and stay safe.
Men of culture and the Iron horse we meet again. Called to gather by the thumbnail summoning horns.
Listen. I know few things. When you got mermaids showin up on your boat like that. Keep doin what your doing homie.
Keep the Honda on it. The extra weight and power of the Merc will rip the transom right off that boat
Go to the thrift store and get yourself a cheap walker. They make great outboard stands.
for what it's worth... I recommend going with the 4 stroke; you can gas it anywhere without worrying about oiling the gas when you're out...
I like clarity and vibrant color of the DJI but there's something a little off with the perspective of the wide angle. Things look narrower or taller than they really are especially in the center of the image.
Viva La Concha! Sell a motor. Make it a FREE boat! Rename it Concha Libre!
This dude is living the life. Honestly..
Just tryna have fun where I can!
@shadetreesurgeon you do that brother.. love your videos.. and your ladies. I'd come visit but I'm all the way down in Cape Town South Africa...
Sometimes the price of doing it yourself is offset by the joy of doing it. Sometimes not. You never know until you do it though. Because philosophy.
Replace the fuel line from the gas tank, bulb too
An ad popped up on here , saying,"It's motorcycle season. " Hmm, wonder where that ad was referring to?
At least your carpentry skills weren't referred to as a mid Western wood butcher 😢
A transactional genius!
As the engine is running sounds like getting it running up to spec would be relatively straight forward. Fuel pump? Overheating part of the ignition? Seems worth having a boat engine tech taking a look.
I was expecting a bedazzled stand after Chloe got done..LOL
lol….NEVER have seen a bike launch a boat before.👏👏🤟🏻
You really think that 65 year old transom can take much more horsepower 😮😂
"Freddie" would be a good nickname for your Mercury.🤣😂😂 Duct Tape an old Credit Card over the Intake! 👍
Edit: Super impressed, your got the deal of the century Brother!👏👏👏👏👏

Those old Merc's are like muscle cars - nostalgic hotrods.
I use to make claymation with a vhs camera using the counter.

I love that!

If I’d had the volume turned down, I’d have thought you were building a trebuchet! Lol
lmao 🤣
Keep the 4 stroke because your a peacock and you just gotta fly
make sure your emulsion tubes aren't cracked, will never run right if they are.
Wonder if its the fuel line leading to the tank, I've heard they get soft when old and start to collapse.
If I were you, I would sell the 4stroke because you like the 2stroke more and selling the 4stroke earns you more money to do fun things.
By the way, I liked the boat videos but I like the motorbike videos more. But to be honest, there is nothing wrong met miss Cloe on a boat 😊
Reminds of the time I made stairs lol measure non and cut close enough haha
The last time I had a problem like that it was the primer fuel bulb off the gas tank. It had small perish marks and was sucking air it at speed. Swapped the bulb and line out and the problem was solved. Not saying that is your problem but it was after the boat sat for a while
Everytime he talks and chloe is in the background i totally agree with what hes saying even tho i dont hear a word hes saying. Damn.
🌿 LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇲
Use one of the motors to build a small boat to raffle for forgotten angels....
You may want to try some Lucas Transmission fix in your trim and tilt 😊
Let’s get it ❤
I said it once and I'll say it again shadetree surgeon is the luckiest man alive
I'd say atleast try the merc on the boat first to see if it works on that boat as in the weight, size so on. If you like how it works and feels then sure sell the other. Either way you came out ahead lol. Good vid
Hey " you're no good with wood"! Lol
When loosing power try the primer bulb if that works rebuild the fuel pump.
Great *boats* of fire buddy!!
👍🖖🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Ballast was point on....🎉❤
NO AIR FILTER.? MAKES SENCE... IN THE OCEAN.... NO DUST.😂😂
Always love the content can’t wait to make it to a camp out one day to meet ya and have a beer or 12
You need to create a Super hero counter personality Mr Obvious, which would also make a Killer Brapstar T Shirt or cap
Try the 2 stroke and if it works well, then sell the 4 stroke and have the girls paint the motor to look cool.
I'm absolutely in love she's 20 yrs too young 😢
did you know the largest use of glitter in the world is boats? I'm not even kidding but once you know that it's pretty clear why
I love the concha dulce the look of it the name just makes me smile.
What's up with the Government mandated caution stickers on the gas tanks?
They love you so very much. They wish to protect you. You must rely upon them. They want to be your god. Don't do it. Take them stickers off.
@christopherw4527 but aren't they here to help? 😁
@@toejam503 They suck at it. love it.

How in the world could you even consider swapping away that conched up paint job?
Hey I just discovered a new way to talk to myself
Keep the Honda motor it’s better suited for the little boat and fix the auto choke and then fix up the mercury and sell that then you have a great little boat and a great Honda motor for a few hundred dollars.
2 stroke, and put the Honda 4t on a Gheenoe!

Yea, I felt like between the two, they looked pretty similar. Maybe the DJI edged out in certain situations.
90% of the people that comment in the comments section aren't subscribed. Eek, that's pretty lame. ALL OF THE SHAME TO THOSE PEOPLE.
Wouldn't mounting the outboard to a 55gal barrel of water work ?
Went on-line and found out
I'm an idiot...😅.
