Thanks a lot, I am currently adapting a model KV-1 inti a KV-85 and have to build tje turret pretty much from scratch, it was good to see so many goid images of them.
Great video as always man I’d love to see a video about the Australian a.c.i tanks also known as the sentinels they may not have seen any action but they are quite interesting tanks very unique.
Yeah I saw the picture on reddit and I thought it looked pretty awsome so I decided to include it (of course slightly editing it a little) regarding signs etc because of monetization
I agree with your summation, it would have been a poor relation to the T-34/85, but I am sure ANY tank with the 85mm gun would be useful in the dark days of the war for Russia!
I think it was basically a stop gap design to get an 85mm gun into a tank. The T-34/85 was probably harder to design to the constraints of the chassis.
@@ianlarge9016 it was a stop gap tank to bridge the gap between the KV and IS tanks but honestly it was a bit unnecessary if you ask me😅 Intriguing tank design though. But it left a lot to be desired.
I have heard the claim the Turret was not the same as the IS 1....I don't know but would appreciate your view. The left side is claimed to be different. ???.
Hey, so do you remember who made this claim? I was looking at historical pictures of the KV-85 and the IS-1 and I could not see any (outside) difference, all the sources which normally are quite reliable also claim it to be the IS-85 (IS-1) Turret 🤔
3:33 That's a really coold render of the engine and transmission!

Very cool man, nice coincidence

Hmm splendid idea for my next video thanks
03:20 great photo! You don't see pictures like that very often 👍?

Yup that's correct, that's why the 85mm was in high demand

KV was the tiger without the gun at the start of the war.
I like that comparison
@@LearningHistoryTogether It's true
One note, you said 85mm is powerful enough to penetrate panther frontally, this is definitely not true for the steeply sloped hull
Nice video
Thank you man
my favorite tank thank to ssi steel panthers video games
