    I'm glad I live in the 21th century where we can have big collections like this. If we lived 500 years ago, the only games we would have are jousting and fencing.

    To make sure you don't lose your data, you should use a save state device so you can double save your data. You can save to both the cart and device.

      Back in the day I had no way to go about doing something like that, although these days if I wanted to I could certainly take a lesson from a video a made a couple of months ago!

    A game that you should get for the NES which is a very underrated is called Vice: Project Doom not sure if you have that one.

      Vice: Project Doom is very underrated! I have it, but not in box. It actually just became available on the Nintendo Switch this month for those who have the online service! Thank you for the comment. :)

    Good to see cardboard that didn't end up in the landfill proudly displayed! Ever going to do a restoration project for any of the holes in your boxes?

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem with attempting to restore one of the holes is that with the original pieces missing, it wouldn't look too good to just patch them up with brown cardboard. I've thought about what to do before, and I think the solution is just to hope that some day I find better copies that aren't shredded. XD

    Welp...you're definitely a NES collector as well. :) I used to have around 400 CIB games but downsized because I wasn't happy with their condition. Now I'm slowly building back up. I keep the licensed and unlicensed games separate and yes they are all in box protectors as well. Sealed games? Hmmm, what are those? XD

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately it's getting tougher and tougher to find older boxed games and consoles in good condition. Personally, my main concern is just to collect the games themselves, but I'm always happy to pick up boxed copies as well if I get the chance! Thank you for watching and commenting. :)

    @The Game display I know I talk alot about donkey kong country series alot, only because I'm a big fan. But whenever there is something intresting I just like to mention in case its something you want to do for a series. so donkey kong country 4 or "The fan-made project" started releasing more demos for their game about every month. I even played some of these levels and they are really cool. I wont spoil details but If you want to check it out I'd love a review on the levels and I hope everyone agrees.

    10:40 that game is called CrysTalis........ the sword is a letter T....
    33:09 that IS the correct encyclopedia, but it's not that rare it seems,
    there's currently 12 CIB copies of Carmen Sandiego on ebay WITH the encyclopedia included.

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and commenting! I always knew that there was a T in the title, but I never really realized I wasn't pronouncing it until now. So thanks for that! :P
      And that's interesting that the encyclopedia isn't too difficult to find these days! Back when I got my complete copy I don;t believe you could just go to ebay and get it.

    never even thought about that in speedrunning you're right and also I have been a HUGE fan of yours for a while on a few different accounts. I have to say your new format is awesome and i'm so happy you aren't getting like "everything has to be super professional content" like a lot of YT because your humor and rants and personality is exactly why I first subbed keep it up and please stay true to yourself Andrew will always love your content.

    • @TheGameDisplay

      Sorry about the delay in getting back to you! Your comment was marked as spam for some reason. Thank you so much for watching and for your very kind words! It really means a lot to me to hear those things, as I often wonder if I'm doing things on TH-cam right. :)
      And I'm happy that I'm not alone in thinking that about speedrunning games from different regions! You would think that the different regions would be separated somehow, although I guess for speedrunners it would be less catchy to say "I'm the world record holder for the NTSC-U version of Paper Mario" or something like that. Unfortunately the result of this is that people almost exclusively seem to speedrun the Japanese version of games due to shorter text boxes and higher likelihood of there being glitches which would have been fixed before the game was localized elsewhere. Although as someone who doesn't speedrun games, these are more just observations rather than things that bother me.
      So thank you so much again for your kindness and support! I really appreciate it! :D

    So how old is Andrew? I'm wondering did he grow up with NES, or was it before his birth?

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was born in the early 90s so I caught the end of the NES's life. When born, my family already owned an NES so I played it a ton growing up. It wouldn't be until I was almost 5 that I got an SNES, and by that time I had already mastered many of the NES games my parents owned including Mario 1-3, Mega Man 2, StarTropics, and 1943! Definitely check out the video where I play Mario 3 with my mom, as we both share a lot of stories about the NES's early days in there:

    Great collection! It's been 7 years since you did a room tour.. time for another 😀 Any new game and watches in your collection?

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! And I hope to make another one someday, as I'm gradually seeing that the need for a new one is increasing. I just want to make sure that if I make a new one, it's better than the old one! There's nothing worse than a sequel that can't even hold a candle to the original. So I'd rather take my time and think it through than just rush into it and make a video I'm not happy with.
      I know that I'm over thinking it considering it's just a room tour, but I hope that if I do get a new tour out there someday, it's something everyone will enjoy even more than the original! :)

      Thanks for watching! The last time I looked at my boxed NES collection I did that, so I wanted to try something different this time. I feel like when I make videos where I'm holding the camera and moving around while pointing at different things, they always turn out messy. If you want a good look at exactly what's on the shelf though, check out the image I posted to my Twitter account as you can see just about every single game!
