Tina, TXS for sharing your finds. I too am an Artist (of sorts)....
Those earrings are very Cool!...I have a few of those green beetle wings in my stash of Art Supplies, and I was going to use them as dangly "charms" that dangle on a chain (ie : a Beetle Wing necklace)...Therefore, if it turns out that you are allergic to the earring posts, you can always repurpose those and use them as "charms" on a necklace.
Just a thought.

.... I, like you, collect "weird stuff" too. I love unusual vintage and antique items (and Art supplies) because I like to turn them into mixed media projects or just as display items. If you want to wear the earings longer, put Neosporin on the posts and that can protect your ears from the metal, i have to do this myself, I am allergic to Nickle and cheap metals, I get itchy blisters, the Neosporin has helped, you can wear them almost all day.
Clear nail polish works too! 😊
