- A classic! Here's a simple and delicious Chicken Pulao recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into small pieces
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- 2 cups water
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
3. Add onions, garlic, and chicken. Cook until the chicken is browned.
4. Add tomato, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and red chili powder (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Add rice and stir to coat with the spice mixture.
6. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil.
7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and fluffy.
8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot!
You can also add vegetables like peas, carrots, or potatoes to make it a hearty and flavorful pulao. Enjoy!
