@user-ys5qp4bq4s Deng went to Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and america too. He simply came over here to have a better understanding how a small country like Singapore with the help
of western countries and Japan developed their economy. They might took some advices that suited their huge country with different culture/texture development needs, hence he open up China in late 1978.
Their economy grew tremendously after they joined WTO in 2001.
Modeling Singapore economy is a farfetch belief from you with their.huge.population, land mass and different local cultures and conditions.
Do Singapore has companies like BYD, HUAWEI, SPACE STATION, DJI,
    MI. ......BDS.....and many others?!
Go figure, and remember what your mother told you Humility is a Virtue.
Lacking of it leads you to arrogance and ignorance.

Can't agree more with you. Singapore, smaller than a mid size city in China and with no where near the complexities of China, claims credit where none is deserved.

Employment will continue to be a growing problem globally. The more we automate the more jobs disappear.
Working towards a society where living life is your job and building in systems to encourage people's passion and curiosity to put their time into things that add positivity to their own lives and that of others should be key.

That's why Universal Basic Income regularly gets touted as a solution, especially now that AI is growing to replace rather than augment human labor.
It's not a new idea either, the original Luddites pitched an early version of this as power looms in centralized factories began unemploying skilled weavers who previously enjoyed WFH levels of scheduling power.

CNA should be more balanced. Why keep questioning China negatively. China has been a huge contributor to trade, growth, developments in developing nations, eradicating poverty, helping fight USD exported inflation, etc. CNA should be fair and question USA on it's so many negative issues domestically & internationally. CNA should not be another WEST media of propaganda against China. Tired. Vert tired of all these daily parroting.

She is right that China should be doing stimulus rather than austerity measures. China asked government not to hold banquets meetings thereby hitting hospitality industry, China asked all financial institutions to cut salaries of all their executives thereby asking high end talents to go back to this countries for better pay, China asked publishing printing houses not to spend thereby suffocating the papers industries, China cracks down on education industry thereby putting millions jobless, China crackdown on its tech industry thereby making Alibaba, and Alipay hit rock bottom, China cracks down on foreign consulting firms, China’s unclear data laws thereby making majority of foreign institutions who were serving ASEAN and Asian market from China move out, millions of high end employees got redundant. State intervention and policies without any communication or timeline makes business environment toxic. How will government builds confidence from here on needs to be seen, the private sector market doesn’t trust the government anymore.

    • @ovrskr

China has been doing stimulus for a long time now. China has printed far more new cash than any other country on Earth and their current economic problems is due to this.
There is no more stimulus to apply, it has already been done.

Chinese 🇨🇳 property sector, which accounts for 30% of GDP, is crashing.
    - Exports and imports, accounting for 37% GDP, are down.
    - Foreign investment (FDI) is falling over 90%, lowest in 3 decades.
    - Foreign visitors are down 96% compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019.
    - Consumer prices are experiencing deflation.
    - Youth unemployment hits over 21%, a record.
    - Its fast-shrinking workforce is 10 years older than neighboring countries.

China still a develop country, with hundred millions still consider low income, there are whole lots of industries for China to explore such as semiconductor, space, quantum computing and etc. There still long way to go, there are still alot of rooms for improvement in China, China per capita still low compare to developed countries and to compare Japan with China just absurd because the size of population, status of economy and size of country.
