I am a 52 year old west coast boy, been riding for a loooonng time...I’ll tell you and all the young homies...we NEVER learned to do anything surf skate board or bike,...we just did it....and now....countless injuries and surgeries later...i have to do countless mobility, strength and balance exercises daily to keep up and be normal...your videos and what you do is awesome...had I had you and your videos when I was just getting after it...I’d be way better off...as it is..I love what you do...and learn a lot from it. To the youngsters....this dude Tommie is legit and y’all are knuckleheads if you don’t watch this stuff and learn the easy way he is showing you. As for me....I’m stoked to be part of your posse and looking forward to keeping on...carving...popping...and flying around the mountain as long as I can keep these (not so old) bones stitched together
Thanks for what you do Tommie!!!!!!

Yes, teach the stand up strapping in. I know how to do it and the biggest benefit is how much energy you save throughout the day. Could mean an extra 2 or 3 more runs in the day.

For strapping while standing up I try to find semi flat area and maybe push snow with my board to make it more stable. Then just try to find a balance and start strapping. I usually push snow under my board so I can be on the heel edge. Would be good to have a place where you can stay still while doing this but if theres a lot of room you can slide down a bit slowly while doing it. Fixing the place for strapping with pushing the snow with snowboard is essential for this. Find an obstacle where you can lean or stop your board against helps too.

Tommie Bennett Yeah Man I’ve been there once before when I was learning!
Spent most of my time at Mt Hutt this season, and when I ventured down south to QueensTown on a trip with my mates we spent most of our time at Coronet Peak.
There wasn’t a huge amount of snow when we were down there. But still had fun, this is my 2nd season on the board and I managed to hit a few box rails and trying to attempt 180s 😅 still got a long way to go but was hella fun

    Hi Tommie
Really like the content you produce ! Hey a couple of things , im wondering what your weight height is and what length board you ride ? I think if you ride a hybrid or rocker board and if you ride a board a bit short it can be hard to get the board to pop and get good spring out of.
I know a really good rider who rides rocker but he rides a 156 but he said he couldnt get the same board in 154 pop for him with less tail to spring off , he now rides a Ride Twinpig anyway
