Very nice! Just started down the rabbit hole myself, lol. Picked up a '78, literally a barn find! Of course all the rubber (seals & tires, been sitting in garage since her husband passed in '80, r.i.p.)dry rotted to trash but the original kohler on it still runs great.

@@Nicky_Pin_It How do you like the Honda engine. I have the same one on mine. I’m going to copy your kill switch and throttle lever. That’s neat I like that.

You can’t beat an old Troy Built tiller, if they are at parade-rest or attention.

One thing I would do is get heat shrink tubing that will fit over your throttle adjustment lever. Cut it to length and hit it with some heat. Now you have a nice little grippy pad for your adjustment. Plus it looks a lot better too.

Sounds like it is surging at higher RPM (starved for fuel). Fuel mixture is too lean or too much air in the mix. I have had a damage govenor gear do same. Nice work brother!

How does the Honda GX160 perform? It only has 5.5 HP and the Troy Bilt Horse originally came with 6, 7, and 8 HP engines.

I never liked the way the F/N/R lever worked with that wheel and slide-block. The spring tension has to be just right. I'd like to see an improved scheme for that.

I have the same machine except mine ia Koehler engine,my house works great ,but it tends to shut off when in use if it jumps, tilts or when running and I'm going at an angle and it'll turn off in mid use.
Runs great, starts right up,can't figure what the pro leg is.
Would you have any advise ?

I have one with the original engine. This machine is so seized up that I can't even get the engine to go up and down. Thank God it still turns over. I have a lot of work to do. Where did you get your decals I plan on making a trailer for mine later.

I like that you have a Honda engine those are some of the best small gas engines out there. I'm thinking I want something a little bit beefy because I want to be able to pull heavy loads. Mine comes with an electric starter and a battery. I'm going to have to replace all the wires but I will be having some lights put on it if I have to work past daylight hours.

@@Nicky_Pin_It It's starving for fuel when it does that so the carb needs adjusting/or there is an obstruction in pick up tube/emulsion tube or the bowl nut orifices are obstructed depending on the brand/design of the carburetor. The air/fuel ratio is not balanced correctly
