- After fitting our new Rogue Alloy wheels and doing the leaf springs on the crafter we needed to fit a side step so we could get into the van with ease

Love the wheels and the step. Have you seen the tyre pressure monitoring valves that work off wi fi . shows the pressure on youre phone . Quite handy when youre swinging round bends at 106 mph 😆😆😆😆 seriously though . could save you an expensive tyre

Thanks David . Even tho this was a bit of a sketchy way of doing it . You can only work with what you have . I was going to get some flat plate and weld up a full mounting bracket but then though . It needs to be done in a way that 90% of other people could do them selves . So along came FRANKENSTEP

It has a little built in catch under which you release before you pull it out . And still working perfect as well

im sure we will meet up one day mate , hmmm the underside of the van , to be honest its not a thing iv ever thought of to be honest mate , appart from getting it sprayed with an underbody sealant thats about as far as you can go bud , it depends on what kind of protection your looking for ,

Brilliant video guys, what length of bolts are good for going into the uninstrut short spring nuts to get a solid fitting into the 41x21 rail?
As long as they make a full trough pass of the spring threaded retainers mate then it really dose not matter . Just make sure u bolt right trough

Those wheels are absolutely awesome. Well I seem to use unistrut like its going out of fashion, I am definately gonna have to rename the zebs mate now, boingers are a much better word for them,,, priceless mate.
We do have our own language when it comes to tools, fixings and anything in life, even each other, we like to rename things that's for sure!!!

I'm a step professional.
Just put the Grabber AT2s on a defender. think they are a grade B wet Weather braking. Previous tyres were a Grade D, the new ones may have already paid for themselves. would recommend the brand so far.
So many people recomended them and lots of people we trust as well . Also rogue alloys recomended them over the K02

Once fitted and in use, after you climb in the van… how do you retract the step from inside…? Also fitted inline with front wheel, they gather a lot of road dirt and crap ….. use of a pressure washer to blast it out … 🙂
I have a feeling he’ll be dangling me out by holding me up on one leg to reach the step once we are inside 🤣🤣

They probably would but after talking to the guy from boris the crafter they fitted there’s over a year ago with techs and it’s still going strong . Plus I also thought thst doing it that way is something 99% of ppl could easily do

Those sliding brackets are variable height, so im confused why you needed the extra brackets. Plus you have a welder which would have made fitting a decent mount to bolt them to quite easy.
Sliding brackets are variable hight but they don’t go to the hight that was needed for the vehicle. Plus I could’ve welded a bracket up but the whole idea behind the video was to do something that all those could follow along with not everybody has a welder but evey one could do this
I said that before seeing the underside, but still think making a bracket would be easier, with you bolting the bracket onto the van after. Welding near that tank would be dodgy...

What size tires are they? They look stella
It's a 17 inch rim, and the tyre size is ... 2257517 which equates to big ass!!!

In all honestly we upgraded the wheels to upgrade the gross weight of the van not for clearance really, that and we think they look cool 😂😂😂 but once we added the wheels we had to add the step as it was hard on the knees getting in and out the van, short girl probs!!! 🤣🤣🤣
