  • Welcome to my unboxing & review video of the N scale AC6000 from Broadway Limited Imports in Union Pacific paint scheme. This is the first sound fitted engine to arrive at Eagle Creek so I was really keen to get it unboxed and onto the track. Thanks for watching.

Very Cool Engine just Traided a Kato Amtrak sound Engine for a AC6000 in BNSF i was looking in on the Manual it was saying that the cab light is Automatic it shuts off at speed step but a few pages down in the CV's it shows you can set a CV 208 to Value of 255 & it will disable the light,
0 sets the light back on for Automatic operation
I think this a sharp locomotive

I agree, it's a nice engine. Even with the bad rep BLI have, I've found if you spend a little extra time looking after them, they run really well. Ben.

@@EagleCreekRailRoad I'm going Norfolk Southern myself but I have a soft spot for the UP especially with the Stars and Stripes on the side.

I do like the NS, some of their fallen flag liveries are stunning.

@@EagleCreekRailRoad got my eye on the UP "The Spirit" kato DCC with sound Loco, to break up the Black and White of NS.

Now I do really like that one, it’s one of my favourite diesels for sure. The SD70ACe, is my favourite model of diesel loco.

I would give it 9 /10 , you will have so much fun with sound and some are so interactive with the speed settings .
Great review , enjoy . ........Peter

Interesting that they would go to the trouble of incorporating a lot of detail, but overlook something as basic as painting the handrails. Aside from the gap behind the cab and the rather coarse hand grabs, a nice looking model.

I love the Bli ac6000cw n scale model locomotives, I’m buying the csx version on Friday 7/03/20 from Lombard hobby shop thank you for showing me your video review!

Domnyce reports a little jerkiness at slow speed. Been running DC for years, have much to convert to DCC. One of the benefits to which I look forward is very smooth, realistic slow-speed performance. Now that this BLI model is well broken in, fully tweaked, etc., can you confirm slow-speed operation that is at least equal to the best you've experienced? Worse?

Hi. The BLI is definitely one of my favourite locos in my fleet but you really need to keep on top of track & wheel cleaning to ensure flawless running. In particular the wheels need to be cleaned regularly on this one as it is very sensitive to any dirt build up on them. Other than that it’s an awesome loco and I would recommend.👍🏻

I appreciate your reply but would like your opinion on the specific thing I asked about, slow-speed performance.

@@rachavya Hi. I’ve always been a Kato guy as their locos set the standard that other manufacturers should aspire to imo. Having said that, the slow speed performance of the bli is at least as good providing you maintain as I said above. Kato models aren’t as fussy as bli when it comes to track & wheel cleanliness.

If any of you guys are having issues with pickups on your BLI n scale locomotives, just detach the truck and bend the copper pickup strips down towards the track.

Just wondering if you doing anymore videos, I’ve subscribed to your channel main reason because quality content and I’m just started on n scale Union Pacific West Yorkshire sub division 👍

Hi Phil. Things have been pretty manic this end the last year or so, so my modelling has taken a back seat. I pick up the keys to a new house in two weeks so once I’m in & settled, I’ll start again especially as I’ll have a dedicated railway room now.👍🏻

Have you been able to get the wheel flange sound on this? I have the CSX version with an MRC Tech 6 controller and love it but would like to get that rail squeal noise around corners. Any info would be awesome thanks.

Picked one up today and alltho I am new to DCC and sound in engines this one impressed me alot. There's a bit of jerkyness when it stops on my layout but other than that it's a solid machine.
