      With Halloween coming up a pumpkin or ghost would be fun. I'd like to see a ghost, actually, to see how you (as a professional) handle the white and the shading. White can be a tricky color to get good color with and get the shading right. Thanks for another great video! :)

    This is beautiful! I have been learning to embrace the “pivot” so I am glad that you touched on that theme. I also love how you often use a pop of background color, it really makes the image pop 🎉❤

      Thanks so much, Christina! 😃💖 It is such a helpful skill to embrace the pivot when making art, when the art takes us in an unexpected direction! I'm glad you like the background color. I wasn't sure about it at first, but when I added the bubbles it all came together, so I'm glad I took the risk! 😊

    That is a gorgeous piece of art, and I appreciate how hard it must have been to do with crayons!! Thank you for taking the time to experiment and showing how it works out. I like this trend of doing art with Crayolas, and I hope you do more of them. Showing people you can make good art or have fun with art with any kind of medium is inspiring for people who might be a little shy about trying something new.

    I think you could use OMS (odorless mineral spirit) to dissolve the crayon binder, should allow you to do more layers. Some artist do the same for colored pencils. I've also seen people using an hair dryer to blend layers on the paper, looked and sound cool. Congratulation on finishing this drawing. Thanks for sharing.

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your comment! 😃 I'm familiar with OMS for blending, but for this drawing I wanted to keep it simple and see what could be achieved using only crayons. 😁 I haven't tried the hair dryer technique - sounds interesting! Next time I might experiment with using a heat pad! 😍🖍

    Such an enjoyable video! I loved seeing the process, and the result is STUNNING! 💖 The contrast is fantastic, and the colors complement each other beautifully. You’ve built so many layers; it adds depth. I appreciated your thoughts on stepping out of your comfort zone. Sometimes, we try to control everything in art, yet beauty can also be found in spontaneity.
    You are inspiring me to buy cheap art supplies, I fear using my alcohol markers and fine papers. Speaking of which, have you considered trying Himi Gouache?
    I truly appreciate the quality of your videos-your dynamism, the vibrant visuals, and the accurate subtitles. As someone who is partially Deaf, I rely on them for understanding, so it’s refreshing to see creators who ensure clarity. Many use automatic transcription without reviewing, leading to choppy subtitles. I love your content; please keep it coming!😍

      Thank you SO much for your thoughtful comments on my crayon portrait AND on my videos!! ✨💖✨ It means a lot to me that you appreciate the quality of my videos, and that you noticed my accurate subtitles! My husband edits my videos and he checks the subtitles line by line to make sure they are correct. It's nice to know that someone appreciates them! 😊 I haven't tried Himi Gouache, but I have a set of Holbein gouache that I started using, so I'll stick with those for awhile. You should try playing around with your alcohol markers and see what happens... the more you use them, the more you'll get comfortable with them, and they'll feel less daunting. You might find that you really like them! Happy Art-Making!! 😃🎨🖍

    I've been using crayons in coloring books for a while and generally use them to color in larger, line art pictures. Vaseline is a great blending tool to use with crayons. It helps remove some of the waxy build up and smooth out the area and color. It also makes layering colors easier. I've also noticed that some colors layer on easier than others. I just play around till I find the right color that does what I want it to. You might want to give vaseline a try. 😀 😉

But also wanted to comment because what you said about a turning point in the creative process, about almost giving up and just now letting the art, the piece, guide you in a different direction, hits home to me with my book writing process.
