- Mufasa: The Lion King 2D trailer (Disney-style animated version) vs. official trailer side-by-side comparison. Take a closer look at traditionally hand-drawn animated Mufasa: The Lion King. I was looking for the best suitable footage to create this animated trailer. I also recreated some of the footage myself to be as similar to the original as possible. This is the 2D trailer for Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King that could have been. Disney CGI characters reimagined in 2D.

Well I’m certainly not against 3-D animation versus original 2-D but If Disney wanted to make a Lion King Prequel then instead of Mufasa why wouldn’t they make it about his grandfather Simba’s great grandfather Mohatu?

True that, cuz' when it comes to having favorite Disney movies, I enjoyed both 2D and 3D equally as their own things, so you're not wrong even if not to gatekeep or anything but The Lion King,Winnie the Pooh,The Jungle Book,Tarzan,Fox & Hound,Hercules, and Mulan were usually the only Golden-Renaissance Disney movies I enjoyed the most since I never had much fondness for the rest of the movies from that era as I did with my other favorite Disney movies besides the ones I listed like Pixar,the non-remake but original LA movies (*Pirates of the Carribean,TRON etc.),my favorite guilty pleasures from the Post-Renaissance/Experimental era, and of course Wreck-It Ralph,Big Hero 6,Planes,A Christmas Carol (2009),Valiant, and The Wild too.

I hear Disney is open to 2D animation for some of their future projects, so if they do an animated remake of Mufasa: The Lion King, then things will come full circle.
I can’t wait to watch this movie!, it's the perfect prequel explaining how Mufasa and Sarabi, Simba’s parents and African lion king and queen predecessors and Raifiki can to be. It will be Wonka for Disney.
I imagined a lion king prequel about Mufasa before this was even an idea in Disney 's heads. But I always imagined it in animated form. My dream actually came true right before my eyes, but not in the way I wanted it though

I want to see the movie animated,I don't care if it's fan made,I've seen people make fan series before so I know it's possible,copyright is a problem though so it may not work =/ but I think someone should try anyway,just wait until the movie comes out,animate everything and just let the movie lip sync XD

No. The movie doesn’t need to be out for us to properly judge it. Us true real fans are heartbroken that they would go this low and we won’t be watching this. They’ve already let us know all we need to know. The contradiction, the live action, the rewriting his backstory, etc. We did give it a fair chance. And now we know all we needed to know. If u disagree, whatever! U js simply don’t know what I know and I do not care. I’m js glad that I know what I know and that others know what I know. Disney is horrible nowadays. I rlly hope they don’t ruin Moana 2 but I won’t b surprised if they do. Look at what they’re trying to do with lion king. Absolutely disgusting and appalling.

Your father, the former king, lost his wisdom and kindness, becoming blinded by the ambitions of power. He betrayed our people and their ideals when began to speak to Mufasa of true royal duty. I did what I thought was necessary to preserve our pride and our wisdom. I could no longer allow him to continue his betrayal," Uru explained, her voice full of majesty and sadness.
"Mother, it was a difficult decision and I understand why you made it. I will always be proud of my mother for protecting our pride from betrayal and supporting his wisdom and nobility," Scar replied, hugging his mother with respect and with love
Uru looked at her son with pride and hope, knowing that he would continue to protect and advance the legacy of their pride.

My God, I miss the old, animated movies so badly.. Since I was a child I dreamt of Lion King 4 which would show the past aka Mufasa's and Scar's past. I hate the way they make everything realistic these days.. If I wanted a real lion I'd watch an animal documentary bruh.
This is better than the live action. What was Disney thinking?
My favorite disney movies are lion king, and this 3D nonsense is really not what I would ever even consider watching, lacks emotion and everything, makes me really sad, I guess some people like it so good for them at least, but I wish so badly that they gave us more animated movies to relive our childhood and it has more spirit in my opinion.
Who are you to judge other Disney fans like me for having a Pixar childhood that differs from your favorite 2D movies who have this so-called "spirit"? XD lol.

The 3D animated Lion King universe and the 2D one are not the same universe. In the 3D animated Lion King, the story of the Lion Guard never happens.

I can’t wait for this movie this december! I will be fine with it being traditionally animated or live-action. I also hope the short film, “Zootopia: A Christmas in BunnyBurrow” (Read Zooptoia Fanon Wiki page for more information) will premiere in cinemas alongside the movie to promote Zootopia 2, I also hope that this song, “FairyTale of New York” by Pouges plays in the opening scene with Nick and Judy in their childhoods (As a red fox cub and gray rabbit kit) celebrating Christmas in their families and ending scene with Nick and Judy confirming that their relationship is indeed romantic and they are in fact boyfriend and girlfriend kissing under the mistletoe.
Ngl, I maybe a longtime Disney fan ever since the 2000's but even tho' hating on Disney's live action movies has never been my style since to tell the truth besides my many favorite Disney animated movies like the ones I grew up with such as Post-Renaissance/Experimental and Pixar ones that I did also happen to have some favorite Live Action movies from Disney such as the Pirates of the Carribean trilogy and TRON Legacy? I guess even tho' I like both 2D and 3D equally I'mma go with the 2D route for Mufasa even tho' I'd also gladly take Lilo & Stitch's live action movie over both Mufasa and Snow White anyday.
