    Miami got the biggest steal. Jamie Jaquez Jr’s last 7 games have been crazy for a rookie. Team trusts him to play mostly the whole 4th quarter and he hits big clutch shots too. Another Heat culture type of player.

    It can not be understated, that SGA's second year, first in OKC he got to learn from new diet and rejuvenated CP3 and even Dennis Schroeder. Wemby doesn't necessarily need another big to do that for him, to be honest, CP3 would have been great.

    As a Spurs fan it's so frustrating that the only player on the team other than Tre Jones who can throw a good post entry pass is Victor. Which lets teams get away with throwing small guys on him, and then when he tries to call his own number getting the ball at the three point line he doesn't have the handles to take guards off the dribble and gets picked. Pop's gone senile with the Sochan experiment.

    Cason Wallace and Hawkins would’ve been the perfect picks for Orlando, Cason as a complimentary/do it all PG that defends and can hit spot up jumpers, moves the ball well. Hawkins fit is obvious. I like AB but his fit w Orlando isn’t ideal.

    Chet should be 1, I get that Wemby looks great because he's the best player on bad team but he's been terrible at shooting. He's shooting 50/28/76 while Chet is shooting at an elite level 58/44/91 which is crazy for a rookie to be doing. You can say that's because Wemby is getting worse looks because he's got a bad team around him but that doesn't explain FT% where Chet is destroying him while Wemby is below league avg. Also the difference between 28% and 44% shooting from 3 is insane regardless of what team your playing for, regardless of what PG you have. Wemby's defense is may be the selling point but his defensive numbers don't look that much different from Chet. Also it's not like Chet is standing around waiting for easy layups. He still has 20% usage compared to Wemby's 30%. If you consider he's basically putting up the same numbers on 10% lower usage you really start to see how inefficient Wemby has been.
    On a side note about age, Chet is only 1 year older. If you think Wemby is going from 50/28/76 to 58/44/91 in one year, your crazy. The only thing I can see him being better than in one year than Chet is his defensive numbers, or maybe becoming more efficient by taking less bad shots and turning the ball over less.

  • @h98986
    @h98986 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Not really sure how they can possibly have Wembanyama ahead of Chet atm. Chet has far better offensive numbers, much, much more efficient and similar impact defensively.
    Sometimes, journalists go into a season with a narrative in their heads and are just determined to stick to it. Evidence be damned.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean its also the middle of November. Much can change by the time January/February rolls in with the trade deadline and the ASG looming over. And especially in the 2nd half of the season where rookies numbers historically go down with being gassed in their first full season.

    • @h98986
      @h98986 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@t4d0W Totally agree. Wemby may well surpass Chet during the season. But, as I understand it, this was meant to be a ranking of how the rookies are currently performing, not an end-of-season projection. And, in that case, I don't see how Chet doesn't get the nod.
      I suspect it's because the media hyped Wemby up to a ridiculous extent before the season, and are now personally invested in him succeeding so that their predictions look correct. This vested interest could be the reason they rank Wemby ahead of Chet and others, even if he doesn't deserve it. Same with all the Jokic haters last season.

    On draft night I said two things that is true right now.
    1. This draft class will be known as a defensive class.
    (Wemby, Lively, Ausar, Amen, Black, Wallace & O-Max just to name a few are all excellent defenders)
    2. Ausar should have been the 2nd Pick, Amen 3rd, Scoot 4th and Miller 5th.
    My take on Wemby and Chet.
    Wemby is a more agile Porzingis.
    Chet is a PF/C version of KD.
