People on welfare by definition do not work; some of those legitimately cannot work. The rest basically have the time to do whatever they like ... So who is the rich? Time is worth a lot and its not fair the burden of paying for that time is on the back of the taxpayer with the exception of supporting those who legitimately cannot work.

Bill, it is admirable that you are advocating that these countries need help and I agree that they do. The problem is that while most of us are struggling with our own economy inflated bills that provide us with the good life that we have, it is very hurtful to hear someone that is sitting on a horde of 105 billion dollars ask us to dig deep into our pockets and help out when you could spend less than 5% of your wealth and cure the problem that you are asking us to solve. Really, how much money do you need to maintain your current lifestyle? People on welfare by definition do not work; some of those legitimately cannot work. The rest basically have the time to do whatever they like ... So who is the rich? Time is worth a lot and its not fair the burden of paying for that time is on the back of the taxpayer with the exception of supporting those who legitimately cannot work.

The problem is that while most of us are struggling with our own economy inflated bills that provide us with the good life that we have, it is very hurtful to hear someone that is sitting on a horde of 105 billion dollars ask us to dig deep into our pockets and help out when you could spend less than 5% of your wealth and cure the problem that you are asking us to solve. Really, how much money do you need to maintain your current lifestyle? India had one Guru the founder of the world's youngest Sikh Faith who dispensed with all the Vedas, all the idol worship, all rituals and told his followers just put up a small shrine one in each of the 700,000 villages of India, provisioned by affluent, run by volunteers just to feed the hungry whosoever walks in sans religion, caste, creed and color and get all of them to do Water Harvesting by pouring out a handful from their rationed share of the drinking water. It would have set the entire eco system, but it alarmed all other religions and faiths. When a hand pours out a handful, the message directly goes to glaciers and icebergs not to melt, Earth remains green and fertile when all hands join in.
