This painting is a visual feast for the eyes...such a lovely colour combination. The most interesting aspect is that we know it’s a floral but the flowers were never actually painted.Clever.
This was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I have been appreciating the exercises you've been demonstrating so it was great to see you choose a palette for this painting from one of your exercises. Have a great day. Patricia
Love this one, learned a lot from it. You were going to check the brush guys to see if they were getting in the 3/0 quill brush anytime soon. Did they say? What would you substitute it with a 2/0 or a 4? Thanks..
Thank you ! Yes, I've been in touch with them a number of times over the past several weeks about this brush. They have been working with the manufacturer, and expected to have stock by now, however, it's still showing out of stock. I have sizes 3/0, 0, and 4. I have not seen the 2/0. You would think the 2/0 wouldn't be that much bigger than the 3/0, but the difference in the 3/0 and 0 is significant. The 0 is 2x larger, so the 2/0 might not give the same precision as the 3/0. I don't have a substitute at present, for less than $5 it's a very good value brush. I've been focused on when they are getting stock, perhaps I should focus on an alternative.
Rick Surowicz Watercolor thanks for researching this, if you happen to see it available and remember let me know. I keep checking but see the same thing you do. An alternate would be nice. Sounds like the sizes are different than I would expect. Have a great day...my watercolor group is enjoying your videos.
I don't know about the origin of the word, but I do know about manners. Why on earth would you call someone out publicly on the pronunciation of a word? I really should not even be calling you out publicly for your demonstration of poor manners, but it needs a public response so that others, maybe younger than us, will understand how it's best done: If you feel the personal need to correct someone, please email them personally.
I felt like correcting him too, for future videos. Then, I saw it was already done. However, I sure would have been more tactful about it. The way you put it, Di, was outright rude. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but we put our own "tone" into written words and it came across wrong. Also, I HAVE noticed in other videos he's said it correctly, so I think he got the message. My feeling is, he's a PROFESSIONAL, excellent artist AND teacher, not a botanist!! Give him a break.
Great painting, Rick. I could watch you paint all day. I really like your choice of colors in this one.

Hi Liz, I just looked at the Brush Guys site, and for the first time they finally show this brush in stock (3/0)
Rick Surowicz Watercolor thanks, I’ll check them out right away.
Rick Surowicz Watercolor, just ordered 2 of them. Thanks for keeping me in the loop.
Foliage = fol-i-age. What's with foilage? Please get it right, like your paintings.
No, there’s the correct way and the wrong way....and it’s not rude to correct someone who is teaching and informing people....
Sara...I certainly did look up the word...and it is fo-li-age, not foliage. There is no word anywhere pronounced foil-age.

Hi...the word is pronounced, FO-lee-age
Thanks MsChareng, Sara H's ignorance is not worth a reply.
