    I hear a lot about using a Collaboration site for things like HR, etc... but why not use it for everything? Are you not able to share lists that teams can collaborate on with a communication site? I like the communication site layout better but I am trying to figure out if there are features missing from it that the team site has.

      Team Site has more classic apps that Comm Site doesn't have (i.e. Tasks Web Part), but the biggest difference is that Team Site is connected to Office 365 Group with all of its apps like Teams and Planner, etc.

    Great.. Greg... Really helped me.. Already created My Department Team sites as since I'm not as admin member.. Will use navigation method for subsites to control security department subsection..

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy to hear. if you are in SP Online, suggest you do not create subsites.

      @@SharePointMaven Do you meant better to use link pages instead?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suhaimiabdazais No, With modern SharePoint, we no longer use subsites. We use Hub sites: sharepointmaven.com/hub-sites-vs-subsites/

      @suhaimiabdazais 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SharePointMaven Oo.. but I don't have privileged as Admin centre to associate with hub sites.. I can't create communication sites as well. Even my Division (above Department doesn't have Sharepoint sites).. So I used Team sites to share among Head of Department and Section Employees.

    Thanks for all the TH-cam videos, they work great. Is there one that shows you how to create an online store on SharePoint? The company I am working for sells merchandise and would like to sell it to the crew at my manufacturer. Thanks :)

      My pleasure. Happy to hear you find my videos helpful. No, I do not have a video on the topic. Doubt that SharePoint is the right app for this.

    So what do you actually call a SharePoint site that was created w/o an O365 Group? You stated a Modern Site but I thought Modern sites where created with a O365 group attached? I am unclear on that part. Thank you for any explaination

    Hi Greg, I'm migrating a bunch (a lot) of documents into SP. I have chosen the Document Centre template as I thought that would best suit. Because this isn't a modern site, will there be any issues with the speed of upload of these docs? I guess another way of asking this question is basically is modern site vs classic site purely aesthetic or do you lose out on functionality "behind the scenes"? Thanks

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't comment on speeds for templates during migration. Suggest you consult migration software company for support

    thanks for your great videos. All of them are fantastic. I would like to know if I create a private team site, do other people in the company (no members) receive some kind of notification ? or just the SharePoint admin center will notice that one site was created?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are welcome. Thanks for being my loyal follower. There is no notification. Just SP Admin will notice a new site created.

      There is no such thing as Personal Sites in SharePoint. Just OneDrive for Business

    How you can create My Site in Modern SharePoint?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no My Site in Modern SharePoint. It is called OneDrive for Business now.
