Where do the little colored wires you have on the PC5 go to? Mine did not come with any wires. Im assuming somewhere on the quickshifter but could you please help? I have a quick shifter installed on the same exact bike but can't get it it to work. BTW loved the video, had tickewve you a like, comment and of course a new subscriber!! 😊
Seen this before. Did you use an old or cheap square battery in the battery hook up harness for the Powcom? or did you double live rhe thing and send 18-20v through it? If you bricked the commander half way through a flash you've made the mistake mate unless a wire has broken as the flash or update was happening. You also need to shut down and disconnect everything and reboot it after making multiple changes on any flashing Hardware/Software. Im in Scotland im a bike mechanic turned boat builder and only really do the remapping and electrical work on track bikes these days so was hoping this vid would be send-able to my cousin who lives in Canada and got my own personal 5VY R1 shipped over to him in 2016. Yeah maybe only post "instal" vids when you sucessfully instal the part you are claiming. You fried your PC3 and had to buy a PC5 then claimed it bricked itself through no fault of your own mid flash.... No it didnt, you know what bricked it, be honest. This vid if anything is proof of the reason even DIY maintenance and DIY 'stage 1' home mechanics working on their own track bike need to leave the Power Commander and all the remapping to people who know what they are doing. Ive fitted over 20 Dynljet QSs to Powcom3s on 5VY R1 over the decades with Zero issues whatsoever.
even with downshift rev matching on newer bikes its no faster than short clutch lever and gear kicking. I have several race bikes with the downshift and i still like to clutch it mlst of the time on the way down through mutliple gears to get the engine/clutch braking going. I use ASV C5s short levers on everyhthng i own now they are easy to just quick tap the clutch lever down about a Centimeter between downshifts or hang onto it to control the back wheel. You dont ever want to distance yourself to much from clutch use on a motorbike especially on the road mate.
@@MattsMotoWoRXno offence but you know exactly what fried that powcom3. Im a bike mechanic of 4 decade and Dynojet specialist and a multiple 5vy owner😂

What are your quick shifter settings
I didn’t change the settings
Can you down shift without clutch as well ?
Not with this setup
@@MattsMotoWoRX oh right it’s a pull one

So the quick shifter is for pc3 but it will work with the 5?
It will work with both of them. You just need the correct connector and an updated usb pc3. The pc5 is easier to make the quick shifter work
@@MattsMotoWoRX thank you man
you just need to not brick your Powcom box with double live feeds or moving wiring about or a laptop out of battery when you do it 😂 Unlike this bloke

excellent video
Which r1 year models don’t have quickshifters is it 2014 and below I’m new to riding just educating myself
yeah, no bike really had it stock much before that. Back in the day it was a common mod when you got the powcom
