Congratulations for conquering the chaos. Willie is proud no matter a win or loss but especially for keeping the dialogue for the most part family rated.
I love that - 'Back to win this shit.' Good stuff! Congrats on a huge victory! I also like the night before equipment changes and giving the finger to the idea that you have to have the bike ready a week before. I generally believe that but sometimes you have to do what you have to do and make some adjustments the day before. And from another video, its refreshing to see a top level cyclist who likes to do his (or her) own maintenance and work. These are great videos (thank you Avery!) and should have a lot more views in my opinion.
Hey Joe! Thanks for all the kind words, this sport is interesting and everyone has their own way of doing it, but it has been fun to learn how to work on my own bikes and be able to feel confident enough to make those last minute changes if I think they need to be made!
Congrats and awesome content. Love biking and photography so seeing them blended together is great. If biking (and racing) in the snow in Alaska floats your boat during the off season, let me know!
This is a great overview of the prep, the race and post race. I feel like I've watched longer videos with less quality, interesting content. Well produced!
Love watching this video! Great content, would love to know what Alexey's bike setup was for this race. As a Melee owner myself, I'm super interested in learning his setup. Thank you!
@@alexeyandavery since there is not much content on the Melee right now especially as a gravel setup, it would be cool to see his tire choice with his Enve wheel setup, also gearing, I know he runs shimano so knowing his configuration for this race or future races would be cool too, I think the audience would love to hear and see it on top of the awesome storytelling you already do. Actually mine is being built right now, should have it by the end of the week, I’m so pumped. Thanks for getting back to me! Keep up the good work!
@@ThomasPellicer So by nature this bike is obviously a road machine...pushing it's limits you get my BWR bike setup, but I wouldn't say it is optimized for that at all in terms of major toe overlap and wheel base. I ran a 37mm slick tire from Kenda (4titude), Gearing was a Shimano Dura Ace 50/34 front rings, 11/30 rear cassette and all sitting on ENVE SES 3.4 wheels. We will keep you posted as he races this at different events!
Fuckin Goosebumps Cuz, everytime i watch you cross that line. I am so happy for you! what a complete monster ride!! smashy, smashy! And Avery killin it on cams and feed! Great content! keep em coming!!
@@alexeyandavery I did. I do it every year! However im no pro.. 😉. Working my way up. Love watching your videos. They are always inspirational! Have you ever done the Lutsen 99er? If not, you should!! That too is an AWESOME race. You’d like it.
Great footage, cool video, but it does make me sad that people choose to drive from feed zone to feed zone to keep their riders fueled. The carbon footprint of gravel racing is already through the roof- maybe make a timed stop at set feed zones obligatory? It also really favors racers with the resources... Respect for the effort for sure.
23:00 We've gone from podiums of three, to podiums of five. And now we're going to call all five "champions". You're a champion! Everyone is a champion now! smh
Seeing Mo Wilson gave me the chills.
Weirdest part for me was seeing Alan Lim from Skratch was dating her during this video, while she was trying to date Colin.
How Do you know that ? i think they was just Friend @@jjwa5410

Thanks, Jamie!
Gnarly video gang - cheers and grats!
Subbed off the intro alone!

Funny seeing the scratch food baggy fall to the ground during handoff. Only got the bottle
Usually that is how it goes...works better under the bottle cap, but harder for the rider to get off. Luckily I had enough food still in my pockets!
This gave me the chills!!! amazing!!!!
Thanks!
Wow. Such a great experience. Thank you for sharing. It's incredible.
Loved it! Got all choked up at your finish!! Looks like so much fun!! Happy for u!🎉🙏🏼❤️
Thank you, Jessie!!!!
Congratulations Alexey!! These videos are so well done!! Congrats to you as well Avery!! Thanks for making them.
Hey John! Thanks for the kind words...all credit to Avery, I just ride my bike and talk a little bit!
Great Vid. Awesome effort and win from another dachshund lover.

CONGRATULATION!!!!!.
The bike is the new ENVE MOG? 👌👌👌
This was actually the Melee!

Thank you, Maxim! I was nervous too, but Avery handled it like a champ!
All the feels ❤️ Congratulations again 🎉🎉🎉
Awesome! Congrats on the win. Way to drop the hammer!
Thanks, Jim!
Great seeing the comradely of the lead group.
It is like that at nearly all of the races! Super cool!
Wow that was awesome both riding and filming

Very nice. What bike is he racing?
ENVE! www.velonews.com/gallery/gallery-alexey-vermeulen-won-bwr-ca-on-this-unreleased-enve-bike-with-unreleased-kenda-tires/
What concoction do you all put in your bottles??
Depends on the race, but my go to is Skratch High Carb full serving. 7 scoops and 100g of carbs!
Awesome!! Thanks man. Btw… saw you kick ass this year at Chequamegon!!! Nice job!
