  • This woman had never been to a Spirit-filled meeting before. Her friend brought her to the meeting, and during the book signing at the end, the Lord touched this woman mightily. You can see her prayer language bubble up as His deep awakens hers!

    When i got saved in 77, I heard about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. I wanted whatever God had to give me. I asked Him for this and one day went to the Bible & Book store and bought a little Booklet titled: "How To Be Baptized In The Holy Spirit." It took about 15 minutes to read. I was in my bedroom. Well, I got down on my knees and did what the book said. I praised and thanked the lord for saving me for awhile and then I sensed my tongue wanting to move. So i spoke out whatever direction it was taking me in, until it began to just flow out. Then the Holy Spirit came over me and it was like a sense of love, warmth and total fulfillment for several minutes. It was the best experience I ever had.

      @@malgosiakrakow It is the baptism of the Holy Spirit because after the Lord answers our prayer to be filled with the Holy Spirit we must yield our tongue(" the body's most unruly member that no Man can tame" ).
      When the Holy Spirit takes control of a believers tongue, ( " tames it" ) and enables them to speak in " tongues, that triggers the overflowing Spirit baptism.

    The baptism in the Holy Spirit is for EVERY CHRISTIAN. The problem is, today, there are few Peters and Johns to go to Samary in order to pray for this to happen (Acts 8). My advice is, make your own Pentecost and seek for yourself.

    • @JesusSilva-di9lj
      @JesusSilva-di9lj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The baptism of the holy spirit is a wrong teaching. It started in 1901 with false teacher Charles Fox Parham in Topeka , Ks. and in 1906 with another false teacher William Joseph Seymour at 312 Azusa Street in Los Angeles, Calif. and ended in 1914, the year that the Assemblies of God started as one of the main churches.
      The pentecostal movement is a religious movement not a Christian.
      Another false movement is the Charismatic (catholic) that started in 1967, with the reading of two books: "The Cross and the Switchblade" by David Wilkerson and "They spoke in Other Tongues" by John Sherrill.
      A man named Harald Breden coined the term "charismatic". He was a very good friends of "Pat" Robertson (700 Club and CBN).
      The third movement or "third wave" is the Neo Pentecostal or Neo Charismatic of the 80's with Kennet Copeland and his mafia.

      I have to disagree brother. Acts 19 to about the 7th verse supports my argument (While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”)
      When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. (‭Acts‬ ‭19‬:‭1-4, 6‬ NIV)

      Yes your right, there is a difference between baptizm in water (which is cleansing your sins and repenting) and baptizm in the Holy Spirit (which is receiving the Holy Spirit. But we can also Receive the Holy Spirit through the baptizm in water as well, we can speak in tongues when receiving the Holy Spirit if its either in water baptizm OR receiving the Holy Spirit without bapztizm in water. but these 3 are important, repentance, baptizm in Holy Spirit and baptizm in water

      +marklar2012 Yes, it is Holy Ghost. He comes with conviction, and joy, and peace, and it is a very personal and wonderful thing. The impression that I received while watching this video is that the woman was legitimately speaking in tongues, but she was not yet fully at ease with it. Often when people first begin to speak in tongues, they have a limited "vocabulary" -- much like anyone learning a language for the first time, or a child learning to speak for the first time. The difference here though is that it is your spirit learning to speak, rather than your soul (mind/will/emotions). It can take time to learn to let your heart lead instead of your head, but it is a wonderful, freeing process that can really help to build you up in the Lord (1 Corinthians 14:4, Jude 20). Blessings to you!

    • @RickRairdon
      @RickRairdon 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tongues was a real language. It Ended. This is not real it is just made up by the person that just thinks it is real and wants to do it.

    • @dagman85
      @dagman85 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rick Rairdon Tongues are sometimes of men and sometimes of angels (1 Corinthians 13:2). That has not changed. I have heard multiple testimonies from multiple people of them speaking in tongues in modern times and having someone hear it in a language they don't know and understand it perfectly. It is a powerful way that God uses to communicate his love to people, both now and in the New Testament times. As 1 Corinthians 14:4 and Jude 20 say, tongues are also for us building ourselves up, and they do that in a wonderful way, too.
      If you have not experienced that for yourself, then you may not yet have had a real experience with Holy Spirit. If that is the case, then I can understand why you are convinced that it must be fraudulent. The joy that comes with the real presence of the Holy Spirit could not possibly be demonic. God's presence is far too thick and too real to be any kind of parody by the enemy. I encourage you to seek God for a true baptism in His Holy Spirit. He will not give you a stone, snake or scorpion. (Luke 11:9-13) Blessings to you!

    The Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance(Act2:4), is certainly not a false teaching, but a sound Bible doctrine(Matt3:8;Lk24:49;Acts1:4-8;Acts2:4;Acts8:11-17;Acts10:44-48;Acts19:1-7). Believe the Bible "...and forbid not to speak with tongues"(1Cor14:39).

So when they recieved the Holy Spirit they all began to speak in " another language" ( singular ) or they all began to speak in " a language" ( singular ).
      The miracle for the men in the crowd wasn't that the apostles were miraculously speaking in their languages but that the apostles were speaking in one spiritual language and they were Hearing what they were saying in their individual languages. PART 1
    Let me preface this post by making it clear that it is not written with any deliberate intention of offending anyone who practices glossolalia (a/k/a ‘speaking in tongues’). I am of the belief that all people are free to choose their own spiritual path and though I may not agree with the tenants and practices of your particular path, it does not mean I should try and dissuade you from it and that is not what I am attempting here. That said, I do take a hard look at the phenomenon of glossolalia and discuss it in a rather frank manner and acknowledge that the results may or may not paint the Pentecostal/Charismatic concept of "tongues" in nearly the same light as its practitioners view it.
    As a Linguist, I have studied the phenomenon of glossolalia from both a linguistic and cultural point of view. My primary concentration was on the linguistic aspect of this phenomenon.
    During the course of my study, it soon became clear that there are really two separate phenomena taking place here: the actual glossa (i.e. the speech, or ‘tongue’ as some would call it) and the interpretation of said glossa (i.e. the “message”).
    Let me start by providing a brief summary of the results of the study, and then examine each in greater detail.
    Results were rather straightforward from which only one reasonable conclusion may be drawn: glossolalia in and of itself is simply an advanced form of learned, subconscious word-play or "free-vocalization"; anyone can learn to produce it relatively easily. Glossolalia only has specific significance in a cultural or religious context where it is part of that cultural or religious belief system’s practice. In these instances, with the possible exception of Christian glossolalia, it is viewed as a tool rather than a means (more on this further below).
    Interpretation which, in most cases, goes hand in hand with the glossolalia, can be viewed as nothing more than a Christian form of what is known as ‘spirit channeling’. Practitioners are simply channeling the Holy Spirit via the tool of glossolalia. As in other traditions that practice channeling, the method/tool used to initiate the process is not necessarily related to the actual ‘message’. Practitioners will argue that channeling and what happens when one is speaking in tongues are two very different things; however, it really boils down to semantics - both describe essentially the same thing.
    Let me first discuss glossolalia in greater detail -
    In Charismatic/Pentecostal Christianity glossolalia (i.e. “tongues”) can only be regarded as divinely inspired speech and/or its interpretation. Moreover, the fact of how glossolalia is actually produced and what it linguistically comprises doesn’t seem to even come into question. It almost really can’t; “tongues” and its divine origin is an integral core tenant Pentecostal belief. Without “tongues”, Pentecostalism in particular falls rather flat. If the actual mechanics of glossolalia did come into question, there’s really only one rational conclusion: tongues/glossolalia totally excludes any possibility of being divine in nature.
    One can certainly perhaps believe him/her self to be divinely inspired to practice glossolalia, but glossolalia in and of itself is neither divine nor miraculous; it’s actually quite mundane and often times its structure in a given speaker or group of speakers from the same congregation is even quite predictable.
    It should be noted that most other Christian and non-Christian traditions consider Biblical ‘tongues’ as real language(s). It is generally understood that the word used in the original Greek texts, ‘glossa’, refers to real language, not ecstatic utterance. For the Pentecostal or Charismatic however ‘glossa’, it seems, may refer to both.
    Rather than engage in a lengthy discussion and linguistic analysis of glossolalia, let me summarize a few facts to illustrate the point:
    Glossolalia will ONLY contain those phonemes (sounds) found in a speaker’s native language or any other language s/he may be familiar with or have been exposed to (either wittingly or not).
    Glossolalia is governed by the SAME phonological rules that apply to the speaker’s native language(s)
    In other words, if a person knows or has only ever been exposed to say English, their glossolalia will not contain any sounds, or combination of sounds, not found in English. It’s as simple as that. The sounds made by the German ü or ö, or the Welsh ‘ll’, or the Zulu ‘q’ will never occur in their ‘tongue’.
    Further, since the phonological rules of a speaker’s glossolalia will always conform to the same phonological rules of (in this example) English, any disallowed syllable structures (e.g. consonant clusters, diphthongs, etc.) in the speaker’s native language (again in this example, English) will also be disallowed in that speaker’s glossolalia.
    Syllable structure is also rather unique to some degree. Glossolalia typically exhibits a very open syllable structure; that is, the syllables of a given “word” are typically Consonant (C) Vowel (V), and strings typically consist of a repetition of this structure; so something like CVCVCVCV. With the final segment of the string, there seems to be a choice of using either an open syllable or a closed one (a closed syllable has the structure CVC). This simplified syllable structure lends itself to the impression by many people that “tongues” simply flow from the speaker’s mouth.
    Note that where I have used ‘C’ (consonant) here, it should be understood that it could represent a single consonant, or any allowed consonant cluster.
    Therefore, the end result being that the glossolalia of a German speaker will never quite sound like an English or Spanish speaker. Conversely, neither of their glossolalia will ever sound like a German’s.
    What has also been noted and is rather interesting is that American speakers of glossolalia tend to try and make their speech sound more “foreign” or less “American English” sounding, for lack of a better way of putting it. The two most common methods are by trilling the ‘r’ sound (as in many European languages, but unlike American English), and the noticeable absence of the ‘ash’ sound (the ‘a’ in the word “ash”) as this is considered a very English sound (though it certainly does occur in other languages). The trilled ‘r’ has entered the repertoire (phonemic inventory) of American English - the trilled ‘r’ and typical American ‘rhotic r’ have become variations of one another.
    Glossolalia most closely resembles human babbling in structure. The typical syllable structure of “babble” is CVCV (i.e. open syllables no matter what your native language may favor). It typically contains syllables which are repeated several times, often with a bit of play on the initial consonant in the syllable; alternating various stop consonants (in English, p/b/, t/d/, k/g) for example.

      Unfortunately, with regard to xenoglossia, the fact is, is that there are today no known solid, provable cases - upon closer scrutiny and examination, even the best known cases have proven not to be true examples of xenoglossia as all speakers were at some time or another exposed to the target language they were exhibiting in their xenoglossy.
      As I mentioned, despite the above, the Pentecostal/Charismatic community is rife with occurrences of xenoglossy. Unfortunately, most examples reported are not backed by any details or specifics - it amounts to essentially nothing more than general hearsay and, I suspect, people thinking that what they are speaking is such-and-such a language. In a way it is kind of too bad - a few well documented cases to study would be welcomed.
      As far as Aramaic goes, see my comments about halfway through Part 6.

    • @kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474
      @kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whoops - "Part 6" was for another post elsewhere; it's not included in what I previously posted.
      Here's the section I'm referring to:
      What is very noticeable in Pentecostal/ Charismatic circles is that Hebrew and/or Aramaic seem to be THE “go to” language(s) for supposed instances of xenoglossia. Such instances are always accompanied by an all too common story of how/where it occurred. At their core, they are all the same underlying story. For all intents and purposes, “the story” has been built up and developed over the past several years to almost urban legend status amongst the Pentecostal/Charismatic community.
      The underlying core story can be quickly summarized as follows: an individual (usually a preacher) is speaking in tongues to a crowd. Very conveniently in the crowd there always seems to be this one Jewish guy (or lady) who, of course, recognizes the ‘tongue’ as Hebrew/Aramaic and comments to the pastor afterwards, the pastor having, of course, no clue he was speaking in said language.
      As the saying goes, if I had a dollar for every version and variation of this story I have heard…...
      The ‘story’ is problematic and rather dubious on several levels: Why a person of the Jewish faith (presumably a practicing Jew) would be found attending a Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian meeting/service in the first place just begs a slew of questions. Most practicing Jews, unless from Israel and speak Modern Hebrew as their native or second language, typically only have a cursory knowledge of (Biblical) Hebrew and even less Aramaic.
      Hebrew and Aramaic are only used in prayers which are usually learned by rote; the same way pre- Vatican II Catholics learned common prayers in Latin. Many Jews I personally know can read Hebrew (they learnt to do so for their bar/bat mitzvahs), but have no clue what they’re actually reading/saying.
      These “tongues being realized as Hebrew/Aramaic” stories are frankly, rather sketchy at best. It is interesting to note that it always seems to be some more obscure, lesser known (i.e. more unverifiable by multiple speakers) language; it is never a more common language like German, French, or Spanish (though there have been a few cases of Spanish reported).
      If such claims are to ever be taken seriously, they need to be considerably more well documented than what amounts to just hearsay as this just serves to hype up the validity of tongues, but I’m not sure the nature of glossolalia/xenoglossia would allow for a controlled study as the speaker would need to produce the language more or less on the spot.

    What’s really strange is that everyone that believes the trinity, calls this the baptisum of the Holy Spirit and all that believe this way have a distinct dialect, they also believe that this event is the gift of tongues, having nothing to do with salvation. But everyone that believes in oneness calls this the baptisum of the Holy Ghost and they all have a distinct dialect, but now they believe this is the birth of the Spirit and is required for salvation, as is water baptisum in water in Jesus Name and according to Acts 11:18 they are correct as The Jews confirmed the Gentiles were granted “repentance unto Life” just as in this same chapter Peter was reminded of the words of the lord,, how John baptized in water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, so the event must include the water and spirit baptisum to confirm salvation, By the way the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Christ and without it we are none of his,,,,,, different dialect not strange at all ,,,, different gods, fact of the matter.

    When you are full of the Holy Ghost your spirit should be able to discern and connect with the candidate tarrying or praying who receives the Holy Ghost,1 John 4:1-6 lets us know basically to try the spirit by the spirit and when you are praying with or over someone to see if they half the Holy Ghost you must be sure that the candidate don't leave have full or deceived because they can say " a tat tat tat and a too too too" all day but you(we)have to make of close surety that the Holy Ghost is actually flowing through this/that individual. The Devil can speak in tongues we have to be 100% sure. When you are praying for the Holy Ghost it is nothing to play with sense it is God placing his spirit inside of you.

      If one is a true child of God, one can rest in faith that his Father will not allow him to receive a serpent, instead of the Holy Spirit.
      Luke 11:11-13 "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
      If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

    marklar2012, I don't understand your comment. Are you asking me a question? All elect believers receive the Holy Spirit at the moment of their regeneration and are sealed by it. There is no second filling and speaking in some made up gibberish. All of that started with the emotional experience that went with it, back in 1901 in Topeka, KS. Agnes Ozman was the first person to speak in this fake tongues movement and Charles Parham was the Minister. Prior to this "tongues" stopped being in use for almost two thousand years. The "tongues" were real known languages by the way and are listed by name in. (Acts 2:9-10) There is no such thing as two classes of Christians. The "spirit filled" and "non-spirit filled".

      Rick Rairdon Im sorry but youre not correct my friend. I actually experienced this and it wasnt an emotional experience so much as a PHYSICAL ONE. • @RickRairdon
      @RickRairdon 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You were filled as much as you would be the day that you were regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Anything beyond that is suspect. Charismatics have all kinds of things going on that are not of God.

      @markiec6584 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Being baptised with the Holy Spirit and feeling the Holy Spirit is two different things. I was baptised in the Holy Spirit longer after I accepted Christ. It is very much biblical as well.

    • @RickRairdon
      @RickRairdon 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you had not the Holy Spirit in you when you were regenerated then you were never saved to begin with. There are no degrees of the Spirit my friend. I walked the Charismatic path for many years with many the false teaching that goes with it. Spend some time with reformed Christians and learn well the doctrines of Grace. If one is not teachable on a matter there is nothing more to be said.

    So sad to see the effects of false teaching and failure to rightly divide the word. This poor woman is emotionally overwhelmed and being pressured to pretend to speak in a tongue equivalent to babbling! Why do these people choose tongues as a sign of receiving the HS??? Because it can be FAKED! This is not salvation according to the one gospel of Christ! Repent and be water baptized for the remission of sin and u will receive the indwelling of the HS, not the outpouring. Stop the madness!

    Wrong, it is a false teaching due to taking the verses out of context. Acts2: 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. The "They" is not YOU! Wrong context, wrong teaching.This woman should have been taught the gospel, taken directly to the Lord's church and been water baptized for the remission of her sins.

    • @TheMysticalMoonlight
      @TheMysticalMoonlight 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Water baptism won't save you. Only the blood of Jesus can save you through repenting of your sins. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8. The gift of the Holy Ghost is still available to every believer today just as it was on the day of Pentecost. Without the Holy Ghost you will never have the fullness of God.

      Mari Mota, funny nick name, it means marihuana, marijuana or cannabis indica.
      You cannot take a verse or a portion out of context and make a doctrine. That is heretics.
      Mark 16:17, is a portion of Mark 16:14-18, Jesus giving a command to his disciples and things that should hapenned while they preached to show they were sent by Jesus. Nobody does that anymore, does not it?
      I say this 'cos all I see and have heard is gibberish.
      Acts 2:1-4, the whole portion is Acts 2:1-40, Peter, full of the Spirit, giving a powerful message to his countrymen at Pentecost, a jewish feast, talking to them about the Father, the Spirit who has descended on them and making them to speak different languages but the most important thing: JESUCHRIST.
      Peter did not taught about the gift of speaking in tongues, that was Paul and it was the spiritual gifts, Peter taught JESUCHRIST to them.
