Dan is spot on. Tai’s biggest strength is when he gets on the inside and brawls. Tai carries a lot of extra body fat and does get sloppy when he’s on the outside and throws himself off balance and out of position at times but when he gets in close and throws short bursts he does generate a shit ton of power and can put anyone out.
You mentioned Volkov, looking at his record and improvement I think he's been rated as a gatekeeper but I have him as a bit of a dark horse. He's only 35 I could see him becoming champion at some point if he continues to improve his grappling game.
Ah yes daddy, Volkov did mention he felt he was lacking in the strength department when he got subbed by Aspinall like that. Now you see him stronger and I think he'll only get better and better 💦
One thing Dan tends to over look is the social media leading up to this fight which at times has some good insight. For instance Tai recently from his vlogs had some knee surgery and is not healed 100% yet. It's also the leg he low kicks with. Also from watching his camps, it looks like Tai never 'upskills' his techniques or ground game, his camps are more just getting in shape.
my friend that is why my picks are better 😂 he may be way smarter than me and analyses fights better than anyone in the world .. but he ain't into the housewives drama that are fighters 😂
I love Tuivasa! And youre right, he couldnlose 10 fights in a row and the fans will still LOVE him! Theres always that chance with his power and the fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting for that big KO. I have no idea who's going to win this, with heavy weights in this middle category, I can never make a confident decisdion. Im hoping for a Tuivasa win, he needs to get going back in the win direction.
If Tuivasa doesn't get him out of there early, we might see a Holm-Pennington kind of main event where people will puke and feint from watching it since that's how Tybura's fights go if he's the one dictating the pace and the range. I do hope Tuivasa puts him out and saves viewers time and positivity.
Hey Dan i got a resppone from V.. b super cool to get one from u too. Was a huge Outlaw fan and really was rooting for u against GSP and all those " GSP nut huggers" ha!! I loved that sound bite!
What did you guys think of that footage of Alex Pereira seemingly getting knocked out by a rapper? Some people are saying it’s acting but Alex seemed to be on the ground for a while.
I'm thinking Tai hurts him early which diminishes Tybura's takedown threat. If Tai lets Tybura dictate the fight early, it will be bad. I think Tai knocks him out in the first. I'm not worried too much about his last three fights. This one he should have a lot more confidence and that should lead the way to sticking it to Tybura. He doesn't need to worry as much as the last three about a knockout. So, he can focus on takedown defense. Ya know just one less thing to really worry about.
I was all in on Tai before I saw this breakdown, but when you talked about your river analogy, and you mentioned this a couple of times, it made me think that you think Marcin can get this fight to the ground if he wants to. I watched his Volkov fight and his offensive wrestling didnt seem that great, but I am not so sure anymore.
Also people don't realize Tai is putting out the footage that he wants the public to see. He has great people surrounding him. And he has a lot of experience in the UFC. Why is no one talking about Derrick Lewis knocked out tybura . and tai flatlined derrixk lewis in his hometown.
Dan, being shorter doesn't mean the guy is smaller, it means he is shorter. Mark Hunt also wasn't that tall, but these guys have very thick bones and heads and limbs etc, they are just as big in mass if not even bigger than some of the guys taller than them. The problem with Tai has nothing to do with size, if anything it is his size of being too large that is a problem, it means he is a bit slow, as a result a technical heavyweight essentially can piece him apart. Because quite frankly Tai isn't as technical in striking as Mark Hunt, he is a bit more loose and wild and like a brawler like a Derek Lewis etc. So what about this Tybura guy? Well, he moves around better, he is quite durable, and he has good cardio. Tybura will have to move around move and tie up Tai if it gets into the close range, doing that Tybura should win just on mobility and skill alone. Of course that's a long time to rely on that, so a big strike from Tai may land in that time. Thus it's essentially a pick-em fight I think. I am Australian, but maybe I am favouring Tybura purely based on recent history, he seems to be doing alright, where as Tai seems to not be doing too well lately.
Tough one to call. I would have been inclined to call it as Marcin's fight to lose until he was made to look so ordinary by Tom Aspinall. Tui has not had a great run of things recently, I think Marcin still has the fight IQ to outlast and outpoint Tui.
First !!! Dan the man !¡! U fuking rock....my favourite analysis ( er )...lol.....I don't think shuee got it to compete in the UFC.....I think he is a modern day tank Abbott....Dana won't get rid of him ...he is liked far to much...omg the backlash would be huge....not happening....I think it's cool about the show thing but I love the best is how he fights in the moment he knows he's gonna lose... On his feet completely....if he's getting submitted ...bruh , he sobfuking exhausted at that point ...his shuts down to the better warrior that night..... ..................Ricky b. If Tai is going to win he's has to keep it standing no doubt. And for Tybura it's the opposite, he has to take it to the ground if he's going to win no doubt even though he Tybura has 8 ko's to Tai's 13 ko's. Tybura has more ways to win but overall for some reason I got Tai winning.
Yeah I've came very close to unsubscribing because you don't make picks because you don't want to hurt someone's feelings or something. Be a gent and make some picks.

Do you think tai could knock Nganu the hell out?
We need you to upload mr hardy!!

He's not gonna be champ. He's always gonna be too slow for the top guys
Ah yes daddy, Volkov did mention he felt he was lacking in the strength department when he got subbed by Aspinall like that.

Dan is probably the only youtuber I would not send to a different planet
Fuck yes.. gunna be a great fight as long as Tui don’t get taken down 🇦🇺
Tibura has to be the only Heavyweight fighter in UFC history to land over 1000 significant strikes and not have a single KO on his record...

He doesn't care to check social media accs, but rather what he concludes from watching film.

Really interesting breakdown
Another awesome breakdown 👌
Have to factor in zero submissions for Tybura in the UFC with 1 submission attempt in 18 UFC fights.

Thanks Dan!

This is IT for Tai
for me it’s mind tybura, heart tuivasa. betting on neither
Love you V
BAM BAM is looking good in his training camp

Two light-heavyweights and a whole barrel of fat. = Most heavyweight fights these days

I think big tuna gonna catch him off a low kick or while tub try’s to close the distance

Aspinall done that to everyone he fought

At one point you called Cyril Gane Cedric. Like as in Cyril and Cedric Sneer? If you know what I mean you're probably Canadian.
Sad to say this is a boring one to see. I used to love tai just to see him never improve his game. Tyb is typically not very exciting fighter either
No more Apex Cards!!!
Sit on your hands!!! I love how quiet it is.

Here's gotta tire tai too.

you do know he has a picks podcast, right?
Tai is going down, he's a one trick pony, and that's just not good enough in the UFC (unless it's god awful boring wrestling)
