Talk about talent. Dan hardy grabs a mic and sits in the middle of the mats and pulls out an analysis hahaha fuck I miss the old UFC Dan Hardy Breakdowns when he had a big screen and UFC resources
I was watching Pereria's interview and he looks almost oblivious to the other fights on the card, this level of focus is impressive. On the other hand, this fight represents a lot to Hill, especially coming from a nasty injury that could end his career. I hope both fighters show up at their best version and give us a great fight.
They are both so good. This could be a banger but I fear it's gonna be a boring fight because of their mutual respect/caution. I hope I'm wrong though.
Remember leg kicks don't matter if you check them and Hill has that ability also Hill switches stances very well which isolates leg kicks as well 🤔 Remember Poatan got kod by Izzy and Jamahal hits way harder than Izzy
Didn't have my notifications on and just saw this now. Very excited, and relieved because I was worried something happened to Dan or Veronica. Cheers guys.
15:41 mate of course it matters. For one, you severely underestimating the importance of stance for Alex specifically. This is a lot like when De La Hoya struggled with southpaws or even as recently as Garcia vs Tank. Ryan and Oscar being orthodox fighters with big, dynamic left hands. Tank being a south paw neutralized the threat entirely ripping his body and trading short lefts Ryan loves with tanks big power left hook . A trade he’ll take all day every day. This is more pronounced in mma. You vote the lead leg attack. You really don’t see how Alex getting less pop vs a southpaw is going to matter? Did you rewatch the Silva fight? Alex’s leg game is dangerous bc he whips his dominant leg around in ortho into an orthodox fighters lead leg. That’s out for Hill who primarily will engage right foot forward. I’d also mention Hill has a documented history obliterating guys coming over top of kicks. Alex tends to hug the center line on leg attacks. He’s used to being so much longer than guys they are out of range to make him pay. Hill is not only every bit of long he’s much more athletic than Alex and significantly younger. The wild card, I agree, is his Achilles. But I also respectfully disagree that stance doesn’t matter for boxing for hill. Against Jimmy he was circling away . He noticed Jimmy’s looping shots so he timed it and circled right and slept him from southpaw giving him even less time to react or expect the shot from the short right the moment Jimmy steps into one of those overhand rights. Against Walker he was switching each time Walker did which was quite a lot. He liked the ortho vs ortho stance walker wasn’t doing much with his jab and when he went to throw a lazy 1-2, Hill saw it and ignored the faint 1 and beat him to the shot which caught Walker blind. Alex has a documented history of dropping his hands hence why he got flatlined by izzy. And hill is one of the best guys on the roster at chain boxing instinctively. Alex is not used to that. It’s what Sean wanted to do but didn’t have the reach to do it. Hill has the reach to stay in range with Alex and close any gaps to beat him to a shot once hill gets inside boxing range. Where we agree is how Alex keeps hill in kicking range and how long he can do it will dictate how successful he is. If hill closes the gap, Alex’s paths to winning tighten dramatically. But that is Alex’s specialty. But he’s never fought someone as big, young, and fast as Hill who is arguably more dangerous boxing. The one thing you didn’t mention that I think could matter is Alex’s knees. Hill is dangerous to clinch with as his ground game is very very good in terms of his scrambling and ability to be in favorable position. But imo hill has gotten confused on what to do with knees coming his way. Especially Alex’s jump knee. I could see Alex having success with his jump knee but it’ll only work 1-2 times. Hill is a monster at timing and anticipating. But if Alex lands one of those, it’ll change the fight.
Jamahil is the more all around fighter and he knows how to mix it up too and Pereira he's not a all around fighter but defensively against the grappling and when he's on the ground particularly when he's on his back Pereira is very good, I already know how good Pereira's striking game is, it is absolutely elite. Overall Jamahil has more ways to win. One thing that's for sure the run that Pereira's on is legendary already, he won the middleweight title in a short period of time and then the light heavyweight title in a short period of time, some believe he could win the heavyweight title too if he's going for that too.
Alex has looked bad on the ground since his moved up to 205 Jan had success and so did Jiri and remember Poatan just got KOd by Izzy and Jamahal hits like a truck compared to Izzy, also remember that Hill switches stances really well which helps prevent leg kicks Hill also has the ability to check leg kicks
I think Alex makes a statement this fight. I feel like a lot of people forget just how long Alex has been training mma and grappling, and the guy teaching him is Glover. He didn’t just start fighting mma after a year of training. He’s been fighting mma since 2015. And been with Glover since around 2018 I think. So he’s not a complete noob. Of course he wants to keep it standing, so do a lot of fighters. But this “Alex has no idea what he’s doing if you put him on his back” is overblown.
Alex has looked bad on the ground since his moved up to 205 Jan had success and so did Jiri and remember Poatan just got KOd by Izzy and Jamahal hits like a truck compared to Izzy
@@drakeshotplays they both ended up losing tho. Alex isn’t an offensive grappler and probably never will be, I’m not trying to insinuate that. But he did well at times getting back up, and he does seem to like to take it easy on his back, which could be because he’s not necessarily uncomfortable there, and he doesn’t mind getting behind on the cards it seems like. He’s not been close to being finished, that I can remember, on the ground. I like Jamahal, he’s one of the most exciting fighters to me right now (before the injury). But his power isn’t the same, and to connect he has to be in reach of Alex. I think Alex wins that battle. Plus the leg kicks. I know the idea is he’ll get countered because that’s normally the case. But Alex has zero load up on his leg kicks. It’s crazy, his upper body doesn’t even move, his hips don’t even really turn. He just flicks it out and it does more damage than it looks like it should. Hill thinks he’s the best in the world, and he should because he didn’t lose the belt. But I think that’s going to push him to try and stand with Alex and I don’t think that’s the best plan. I can’t wait tho, it’s going to be exciting for sure.
@@xancypillosi9497 oh yeah he’s awesome, he deserved to be champion and it sucks he got hurt. I just think Alex is, what these other guys try to put on a show to be. Like Jiri and the whole “warrior” thing, Alex is the real thing and he just has what looks like effortless power. Even his calf kicks he doesn’t turn his hips just flicks it and people are a mess after 2 or 3. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Hell yeah, welcome back, man! And I'll be at the St Louis card watching Veronica beat the brakes off Aldrich. Let's have some drinks afterwards to celebrate. Haha 🍻
the thing is hill isn't a unorthodox striker, so we will see pereira sitting down more on his punches that's where hill is going to get tko'd or if hill goes in the phone booth with pereira he could flatlined. i also do see hill winning but the odds are very low
My ONLY complaint (and I've heard this from other analysts) is calling Pereira a middleweight. He made middleweight, but he's a light heavyweight. An "average" sized light heavyweight is NOT a middleweight
Well, most fighters "make" their weight class. Honestly it's a weight class, and everyone trying to get an advantage by cutting as much weight as humanly possible. Most fighters are 10+ pounds heavier on fight night. So if you're walking around anywhere close to your weight class, especially in the LHW division, you're average. He was cutting what, 25+ pounds to fight middle weight? That's a big ass middle weight compared to Izzy that doesn't cut that much.
You might want to consider using brighter colors in your thumbnail. I didn't even realize you put this video out initially because it blended in with all of the UFC media videos. Just some input from an outside perspective.

It's still Dan though and that's all that matters
I miss Dans Mohawk! Badass!
You were gone for too long! Welcome back!!
Yesssss! Ive been waiting for a Dan Hardy 300 breakdown for days!!! Lol
Dan Hardy’s analysis is the best, hands down.
Him and Guru are the top 2 in the entire world!
Lol, he could not even analyse his own fight while fighting and was getting Koed everywhere..😂

Finally! Thanks for the content Dan you have been missed 👊🏻
Missed your content Dan ❤
Thanks Dan! Appreciate the extra effort to get this done while on the road. Best of luck to Veronica!
Really appreciate the content and sick Analysis skills!
Enjoy your breakdowns as usual. Personally, you're the best in this circle in breaking down fights.
Love the breakdown. As a fan of Dan I would love a breakdown of Max and Justin
Gotta Love the break down from the outlaw . And not to mention the ( THE WAR ROOM ) . Awesome title for the subject . Hats off Dan .

The best fight breakdowns 🙏🏽
Need a full 300 card prediction video!!
Been waiting for this! Thanks Dan!
Love your work Dan. Good luck with the camp 👊
Great stuff... So excited for this one love both of these fighters, could end fight of the year imo
Alex is going to chop at Hill’s leg, Jamahal is going to overextend himself on a combination and get caught wrong footed and put to sleep
Hate that you're not wrong. I'm hoping Hill is gonna be smarter than that. BUT, I ain't putting any money on that.
Alex counters way harder but I still think that’s how Jamahal gets it done if he does.
Remember leg kicks don't matter if you check them and Hill has that ability also Hill switches stances very well which isolates leg kicks as well 🤔 Remember Poatan got kod by Izzy and Jamahal hits way harder than Izzy
@@drakeshotplaysHill doesn't check kicks and is always open for the left counter.
I’m a big Izzy fan. But I believe weight cut affected Alex ability to take a punch. Still a great performance by one of the best mw champ Izzy.
Brilliant insight and information by the one of the sharpest minds in MMA!!
FINALLY!! I’ve been waiting for this!!
Never stop doing this Dan. Thanks for the sharing and knowledge. I love you mate

Poatan by barrages of brutal leg kicks and drawing Hill in for the left hook KO. Good night.
