Thank you for informing me of the deadly amount of lead inside of these guys. I am now going to do a mukbang in which I consume a box full of them over the course of six hours.
Its funny cause the bootleg scene here in mexico has gotten more and more competitive lately, some of the artisans makig them have improved the quality of their products A LOT. Like, the detail painting has gotten actually GOOD in some cases. Considering the origin of the figures, it´s weird but not unexpected that they are being produced with some really cheap materials.
I customized one of these figures last year and I can say the paint is definitely toxic, I sanded down the paint in certain areas to get rid of the mold marks and smooth the surface and the paint dust made me feel dizzy and made my skin itch for months! however after repainting and coating the entire figure it became safe to touch and pose, so yeah, be careful with that paint.
Hey, mexican living in México here I can give a bit more of information about mexican bootlegs in general These are a very local production that has been going for years, even since the past century, first starting with lucha libre characters, theres a very iconic mold that every mexican kid had. Only a few sculptors are known, and with them you can see how some of these pieces are made. The sculptors really love to create their own monster designs like the twisted animatronics, in general, there was a time that a lot of fusions between ben 10 aliens were made, those were dope btw. I believe that the reason of these are the Alebrijes, mythic creatures from the mexican culture that are basically a mix of a lot of animals in only one with funny colors. Ive never heard something about these provoking some toxic incident, so they arent dangerous. I could do some more local research if youd like to
Nah man the Alebrijes have nothing to do with it. They get the info wrong when doing them because they don’t care. They might find some fanart and just make a mold because it’s the first thing they found.

at least once a week i go to a mall near my house with two stands selling a bunch of these so this is kinda wild. not really surprising, like you said, sketchy bootlegs are indeed sketchy. shoutout to the employees and all the kids who have these lol
Lead is toxic to humans in all sorts of ways. Women in the 1800s would use it as makeup, causing smallpox, scars etc. They would use more to cover said scars and lead poisoning was a major cause of death back then. Not saying that's the case for some fnaf bootlegs lol but just pointing out how lead isn't only dangerous when consumed
i would gladly purchase one if they didn't come with toxic fumes that probably smell like what gregory was smelling during the burntrap section in security breach
Last year, my mom ordered a pack of bootleg SB figures for my young brother, they weren't from mexico, rather from china (ordered from AliExpress) and they smelled AWFUL. felt STICKY. despite that I hope those don't have lead
And just in any case if you are worried about the lead on the figure its mostly for the materials the are made and i have see in person how they are made so yeah the lead can be for the plastic since is straight up melted plastic put into molds so is just bare bones plastic the painting as well most of them are painted with just acrylic paint and actually probably the smell/lead and gross touch of the figure is because probably a coat of transparent lacquer spray paint and your figure was probably a recently made one so that can also explains why the accessories were stuck sticky into the bag it came but yeah hope that answers the lore of Leadbear!!!

2:56 emalvido's description could ALSO be read as "If you are looking for figures ask me.", which I think was the intention. Since they are the ones *selling* figures and (to my knowledge) not buying collections of their own- I think that's more likely.
I remember that I wanted the mexican Glamrock Freddy figure (Which looks better than the funko one 🤦♀️) and then I realize I was actually too broke to buy the dang thing. I didn't realize that they were dangerous and contain lead. So basically, being broke might of saved my life-
I collect anime figures and so I'm well versed with the dangers of bootlegs. It's sad to see that bootleg figures for fnaf are also made using toxic substances.
What I've been able to figure out aswell, mexican sellers usually make better fnaf security breach characters! If they don't use lead paint I might buy them😊
Im pretty sure that Emalvidos description isn’t him saying how HE is looking for the figures, I think it’s more of a thing like “Are you looking for these bootlegs? Then come on down to my page!” Or something like that
6:09 im pretty shure that isn't twisted golden freddy i think its corrupted golden freddy that one sfm model but i might be wrong also nice video its always entertaining whenever you talk about mexican bootlegs or just any bootlegs in general
As a person who actually have made some of those toys i can tell that even we don't know where the materials with which we make them come from It's mostly recycled plastic and the paint they give us
As far as im aware a lot of older action figures...I think between the 70s-90s? A lot of theme were pretty gorey, 'demented', and spooky in general. I feel like these twisted bootleg figures would fit right into that era of time. I'd even go as far so say they're kind of TAME compared to some of the toys produced in that era. But they really stand out because you don't generally see these kinds of things as often in todays market.
DAMN, well guess some of these do contain lead , i live in Mexico and its super common to see these since as you probably know, funko doesn't distribute practically nothing fnaf here, in fact I've never seen any fnaf figure in stores, so these are the only alternative and since they are pretty robust they are nice for kids since most bootlegs paint isnt really a problem , now yes these are hand sculpted with some having nice detail ,some using reference images, wich that's how you sometimes end with odd looking ones or fanart based ones , they are hand painted and are made all through Mexico so that's how you get all the different quality and variants and paint since its not like there's a rule to how they need to be manufactured , most are made in homes and then sold on streets, tianguis (markets) or Mexican websites like mercado libre, always advertised as Mexican bootlegs, so they don really try tricking you into the fact that these are real, or most dont, in fact here in Mexico they dont get in legal problems so yeah, i have owned 4 fnaf bootlegs and like 9 bendy ones , and one i own for at least 7 or 6 years and to be honest I've never had any problems with them yet be careful with some of the cheap ones, there's different sizes and lines, since yes these are actually made as part of a line to be consistant with one and other and the molds do get constantly updated yet it takes longer to see them since they need to distribute the molds or figures, as a plus, the odor fades away after some days, if you dont want to wait or risk it just wash them a couple times and it disappears, idk if its toxic but i personally havent had problems and i personally kinda find it nostalgic in a way , yet i do understand your concerns of it being toxic, so overall be careful since tho im pretty sure they aint that toxic by experience and most paints aint toxic (and the fact that most kids in mexico arent in a hospital or dead) some of the cheap ones can be really crappy in terms of the paint rubbing off and plastic and also dont overpay on ebay since these retail in mexico for 5 to 15 ,i hope this kinda answers some of your questions and nice video
By the way these bootlegs are made by multiple different producers some of them do have lead but some of them don't like for example the fnaf 1 bootlegs you showed usually don't have lead
I understand putting awareness in the “dangers of buying bootlegs” but you did kinda demonize the entire Mexican Toy Market In countries with limited resources like Mexico, these bootlegs are just an affordable alternative to high end collectibles that don’t make it over there. These artists don’t have any resources that big companies have so the fact that they can make custom toy molds from scratch is impressive. Those toys are there for people who have limited resources and low incomes an option to have a toy as part of their childhood So it seems a little bit unfair to bunch every single Mexican Toy Manufacturer in the category of “people who make illegal toys that are poisonous” when most of them are independent artists who do this by hand

I collect anime figures and so I'm well versed with the dangers of bootlegs. It's sad to see that bootleg figures for fnaf are also made using toxic substances.
That Cough/wheeze you made is never leaving my mind now, thanks.
Ngl tho these may be illegal but they look better than funkos 💀
What I've been able to figure out aswell, mexican sellers usually make better fnaf security breach characters! If they don't use lead paint I might buy them😊
10:16 WAS THAT THE SNIFF OF 23!!
The “twisted Freddy “with a bat is based of corrupted freddy a sfm model
"you may wonder, 'why does he have four arms?' um, AHHHHHH"
We should name the dredbear Bread rare because that what the BR stands for on his back
Im pretty sure that Emalvidos description isn’t him saying how HE is looking for the figures, I think it’s more of a thing like “Are you looking for these bootlegs? Then come on down to my page!” Or something like that
these bootleg toy designs are actually so sick ngl
No way you did it!!! Been waiting for this! (:
6:09 im pretty shure that isn't twisted golden freddy i think its corrupted golden freddy that one sfm model but i might be wrong also nice video its always entertaining whenever you talk about mexican bootlegs or just any bootlegs in general
As a person who actually have made some of those toys i can tell that even we don't know where the materials with which we make them come from
It's mostly recycled plastic and the paint they give us
who is "they"?
Exactly.
@@alphroteek7198I'm guessing like their boss or manager?
As far as im aware a lot of older action figures...I think between the 70s-90s?
A lot of theme were pretty gorey, 'demented', and spooky in general. I feel like these twisted bootleg figures would fit right into that era of time. I'd even go as far so say they're kind of TAME compared to some of the toys produced in that era.
But they really stand out because you don't generally see these kinds of things as often in todays market.
The bootleg dread bear with the four arms is probably a mix of dreadbear and creation from the joy of creation
That sink is so disgusting
Springs looking at the four armed dreadbear for some reason reminds me of like some sort of scientist inspecting an alien object.
By the way these bootlegs are made by multiple different producers some of them do have lead but some of them don't like for example the fnaf 1 bootlegs you showed usually don't have lead
I understand putting awareness in the “dangers of buying bootlegs” but you did kinda demonize the entire Mexican Toy Market
In countries with limited resources like Mexico, these bootlegs are just an affordable alternative to high end collectibles that don’t make it over there. These artists don’t have any resources that big companies have so the fact that they can make custom toy molds from scratch is impressive.
Those toys are there for people who have limited resources and low incomes an option to have a toy as part of their childhood
So it seems a little bit unfair to bunch every single Mexican Toy Manufacturer in the category of “people who make illegal toys that are poisonous” when most of them are independent artists who do this by hand
Fr. I think M.R Springs made a lot of exaggeration
Super awesome video. I’m really surprised that you decided to do the lead test, and I’m glad to know you haven’t had anything bad from that bootleg figure.
