I have loved and played pool for more than 30 years...firstly in snooker and pool halls when I was supposed to be in school and then college then in various bars....still play in my local pub and could play for hours on end....am still astonished at how easy these guys make the game look
I assume you're American? American pool balls are significantly bigger than English pool balls seen here. So much so that we play with a 9mm tip and you play with a 12mm or 13mm tip If you're not American and are indeed from the UK then it's what you'll find in most clubs
On the black to make it two each he was worried about going in off the yellow into the middle that's how he nearly missed it suprised the commentators didnt pick up on that. Normally he would stroke them in for fun
Greetings from Colombia. I love pool and I'd love to start playing it, not at a pro level but as a hobby... with my friends. Can anyone tell me what's that table's size? and the balls too? thx.
@@robmitchell2531 I think you will find that all of these televised matches (England, Australia and possibly Ireland are all played with smaller white.
@@IamKlaus007 I’d be very surprised but sounds like you’re sure so I won’t argue. I played county pool and the white was the same size but I’ve never played professional pool so I can’t confirm that
@@robmitchell2531 Any pro player (Mick Hill, Tom Cousins, Gareth Potts, Darren Appleton, Chris Melling etc, etc,) will all confirm this. In fact, Potts and Appleton are on youtube advocating for 'same size white' to be used. I really hope the governing body is listening and finally sees the sense of it.
Although they are both good players, anyone can pot in those bucket pockets. Bring back the old style tables and Gareth's mullet hairstyle 🤣, then see who can play the game. 👍🏼
If you are talking about Potts, That’s how your supposed to break. Look are regular pool matches. Most bend their cue like that, it’s not as apperant now since they all use carbon fiber cues but you can still see it.

Can you teach me how play
This two guys are just incredible. Ridiculous level. They are amazing
2 smashing pool players, great game to watch 👏Potts is as steady as they come. Class act
Awesome play lads. Great to see gaz back. He's still playing like it was 20 years ago. Great stuff. 👍👍
Gaz is the GOAT
I would love to have the announcers voices in my right ear as well
I thought my earphones are fuked lmao
I listen to this at night pretend Simon Webb is whispering in my ear
This is awkward because I'm only using my ear bud.
Lol I came for this comment because I was also concerned about my airpods!
I wish this was two hours long instead of twenty minutes. Give us all the Sheppy content!!
My left ears loving this
Great action, english 8 ball deserves more attention.
Couldn't agree more 👍
These lads are absolute class but these pockets are massive.
like the format but the golden break in a race to 4 is a terrible rule
I don’t know…I think it adds a bit of drama.
Yes, better to spot it like in international 8 ball. Has nothing to do with skill.
These guys are pros.they dont miss
What rules are they playing? Since when did UK pool have a golden break?
its a tournament specific rule, not all our tournaments have this feature
@@UltimatePool It is a ridicous rule.
howcome at 18:00 the guy set the cue ball at the opposite side where its usually breaked from?
In ultimate pool rules you can put the white anywhere on the table after a foul (like American 9 ball) but you only have 1 shot.
Cue ball is smaller than rest?
anyone know what cues they are using?
My left ear really enjoyed the commentary.
Sheppy is one of my absolute favorites
What game is this?
Quality pool
What is the size of this pool? And the ball is same as a standard ball?

Anyone know what table they are playing on please?
The table is made by Heywood and called a Supreme Match. The cloth is the Strachan Superfine grey and pro cup balls are made by Aramith
@@DanceySteveYNWA great info, thanks 👍
Pockets really take the balls in even hitting rail first, getting slightly Americanised😮
Is Gareth Potts a perfect e ample of nominative determinism?
Icon vs icon. This is what I call classico ! Gg..
On the black to make it two each he was worried about going in off the yellow into the middle that's how he nearly missed it suprised the commentators didnt pick up on that. Normally he would stroke them in for fun
2 of the greats…
Great game and 2 of my favourite players to watch, I’ve got to say on a couple of those shots the pockets looked very forgiving though 🤔
the competition tables usually do play easier than the bar tables, dunno why but that seems to be pretty normal
Greetings from Colombia. I love pool and I'd love to start playing it, not at a pro level but as a hobby... with my friends. Can anyone tell me what's that table's size? and the balls too? thx.
I think the table is 6ft by 4ft and the balls are Belgian aramith
The table is 7ft x 4ft with a playing surface of 6ft x 3ft. The balls are 2in balls from Aramith (the white is 1 & 7/8in)
Did gareth change his name via deed poll?
No lol but what a coincidence as he “Potts”every ball on the table.
He's lucky. I'm called Davey Miss and I'm shite at this game
Why are these two guys not competing in the top events with Shaw, Filler, SVB, Melling etc?
I don't know why you consider the American events to be the top events. They are playing a different game.
Probably down to them being the more televised and im guessing more prize money? 🤔
They are worried about falling into the pockets and never being seen again.
These lads different class but the pockets are buckets
Nice one Gareth, my two fav players
i knew jordan had it in him, pulled up with the W
These pockets look huge. Almost like 9 ball pockets
Unfortunately yes.
When you watch a video that leads you take your phone to a iPhone techician
Gaz is still top drawer
Can someone verify that english pool is played with a 1 7/8 cue ball while object balls are 2".
That's correct, afaik it is the only cue sport where the white is smaller than the object balls
No that’s only the case on coin-op tables where the white must keep being returned and the object balls stay dow. The cue ball here is 2 inch too

Wooow
These pockets are huge…
Getting more like American tables everyday.
Hmm the commentator sounds speaking from a walkie talkie
If Efren play this he doesn't have to wait so long ...it will finish early
Wrong.
stupid sport that depends on break off there is no balance
snooker will always be the best q sport ever created
Dirty Potts
England bad

Yeah that black to make it 2-2 from shepherd was a piss take
I'm pleased someone else noticed. Most of those dishes wouldn't of been possible on my table. Bucket heaven.
WOW buckets no talent needed
If he broke like they on my table I’d get my misses to slap him. No need
what wrong with break?

I liked Potts until a found out his best friend was that dullard Selby...
Selby is his brother in law 🤷♂️
Brother in law ya plank 😂😂
Did Potts marry Selby's sister?
