God, don't you know it! I wish we could, too. But like one person wrote, I wish I realized then what I know now, that this is a really lovely song! (I'm afraid I fell too much under the influence of flashier rock stars.😂)
This was one of the easiest listening songs I'd ever heard. I remember driving in a very heavy fog one late evening on a back country New England road going to Boston the first time I'd heard it. It burned in my brain and each time I hear it, I think of that trip.
Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the late summer-early fall of 1975. I was in basic training at Fort Dix, NJ. There's a line in the song that goes "...well the summer's gone and I hope she's feeling the same". Summer was gone and I think of all the good times I had that summer before I went in. That sad melancholy piano riff at the beginning.
Gerald Linford Beckley is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, and a founding member of the band America. Beckley was born to an American father and an English mother. He began playing the piano at the age of three and the guitar a few years later. He is 67 now and in good health.
"Flyin' me back to Memphis Gotta find my Daisy Jane Well the summer's gone And I hope she's feelin' the same Well I left her just to roam the city Thinkin' it would ease the pain I'm a crazy man and I'm playin' my crazy game, game Does she really love me I think she does Like the star above me, I know Because when the sky is bright Everything's all right!""
Madonna High School gym...Daisy Jane & Summer Breeze ( by Seals & Croft) over the PA as we struggled w/ gymnastics w/ Ms. Hafner 😊. Sweet memories indeed.

One of my favorite America tunes. I learned how to play it on the piano…love the chords!!
One of the classic love songs of all time. I used to play this on the radio in the late 70s and early 80s whenever I could get it in. Pure clean sound

Ventura Highway was my favorite America song.Until I herd this tune
Reminds me of the good times as a child growing up. A simpler time, unlike now with this virus that infests our society. 3/31/2020
Which virus? Covid or the brain eating virus called Liberalism
What liberalism/ leftism virus?
Wow , this was my song! Taking it back to when i was 11.

I was just a kid who won a radio in a colouring contest lol. "A Horse with no Name" and the golden age of soft rock on AM radio :)
